[Fangtasia staff]

Well at least it's not a slow night?

[Amazing Avengers (Bruce Banner / the Hulk (616), Amadeus Cho, Henry Jekyll, Rick Jones)]

Calling an assemble. We've got some weird thief guy who's made his way into Fangtasia.

Heads up, no violence. It's a thing. I wouldn't recommend trying.

I'm sure I don't need to inform most of you about this afternoon's incident at the local Shake Shack. The brief recap is that the establishment suffered serious collateral damage during an incident which we're still investigating. I'd like to assemble a team of you to assist me in a clean up operation. Any volunteers would be greatly appreciated.

[ Stephen Strange ]
I'd specifically like to tap you as I believe the creature involved in the attack is more within your realm of expertise.

[AVENGERS: ALL TEAMS + SUPPORTING/ON-CALL AVENGERS]
So for those of you that aren't aware. I still have a Titan in holding on the Stark Expo compound which we really need to do something about. And this got my thinking.

See, with SHIELD's recent company-wide downsizing, they don't have the facilities for something like the Titan (at least, not while he's alive) and when it comes to dealing with monsters, aliens or superpowered individuals whose badness level is too high for their size, we tend to step in.

So, I think we need to start developing a solid plan. Because while people with superpowers aren't bad -- some people with abilities are certainly going to be and as tensions continue to rise (like we've seen, with the protests already) we need to come across as strong, capable of offering protection and fair when it comes to justice. But that begs the question: Are we strong enough? Are we capable? Are we going to be fair?

I'm going to call this a pretty mandatory meeting. We're talking about the future of the Avengers as it exists in this world, and I really need everyone's voices to be heard.

(ETA: Meeting is tonight, dinner will be provided. Not Olive Garden)

[Sharon Carter (MCU)]
Hey there, Agent Carter.
You busy tonight?

Oh, this is not really not

Edward is most unhappy. I cannot let him out. I dare not even try, not like this. The risk is far too great.

Peter, I shan't be in to work. I must try and keep Edward calm.

[Amazing Avengers (Banner(616), Cho, Jekyll)]

With Spidey getting himself sent back that leaves us down a leader.

But his wife's old place was hit up by some anti-supers writing. Given the attack last night that ended upon the news even if it turns out to just be graffiti it's better to make sure it's not related.

Anyone else in?

What a strange world this is. First everyone is afflicted with what appears to be the sweating sickness and now they are speaking of a madness that only occurs in March. How does one avoid this March Madness?

Mar. 11th, 2015

[info]jekyll_hyde

Well. That is an experiment I shan't be trying again. Apparently this illness is quite persistent and Edward is an even worse patient than I. On the bright side, he doesn't get angry about being ill, he sulks.

I have been told that you have a ranch that refugees may make use of. Might I enquire as to the details of how we may use it?

I think I am quite ready for winter to be over. The last time I was in this sort of weather for any length of time, we were about to storm M's fortress and I ended up half naked in the snow. Which I suppose did put me one step up from Skinner, all things being told.

Thank you. You are, all of you, the very best of friends. I believe that quite literally, were you not there and providing me the support you did, I would not have exited from that place. Perhaps it does not seem like much to you, but knowing you were coming for me, seeing your words of outrage on my behalf, and reading your words of comfort and encouragement -- you bolstered me when I most needed it. Allowing me to stand on my own against Cressida -- against myself, but feeling you with me with the knowledge that should I falter you would step forward and enter into battle. Thank you. Thank you.

I hope you will forgive me, but I believe that I am taking this entire week away from the City, so I won't be able to be at the reception area.

Filter to Sully
Thank you. I was afraid that your words whilst in that place were a mere figment of my imagination. I was never so happy to see someone than when you entered the ballroom.

I have told Dr. Gates that I won't be in for my usual shifts at the clinic's reception area this week. Do you suppose there will be room for me at the ranch during that time? I'll be able to keep up with my schoolwork from there just as well from here.

I always expected that if I were to return home, I would leave all of my modern trappings behind. And yet, my phone, in my reticule, finally working. I'd forgotten how I sometimes took refuge in the ladies' powder room at the theatre.

I only hope that one day I return to New York. Even though I won't remember it.

If I were at home in London, it is at this time of year when myself and my mother and sisters would start looking towards the beginning of the social season that surrounds the spring session of Parliament. We would be planning the first of our trips to our modiste to choose dresses and patterns, and those who chose to spend the winter tucked away in the country would begin to trickle back into town, and Lady Whistledown would again have more than enough fodder for her thrice-weekly newsheet. I've sometimes thought how interesting it would be to start a modernised form of that scandal-sheet, but then I remembered the existence of TMZ. It would appear that the market for such writings is taken.

Thank you for this weekend. It was perfectly lovely, especially with the snow. I don't remember having spent a nicer time in the country during winter. My chest has already found a place amongst my belongings, and is sitting half-filled with those treasures of mine which I hold closely to my heart.

I believe my favorite part was sitting, bundled up, next to you as the sleigh flew across the ground, the wind whistling in my ears. Yes, I was freezing at the end of it, but it was a magnificent use of horse, sleigh, and snow.

Filter to Henry Jekyll
Thank you for the flowers and the chocolate, Henry. The chocolates were exactly what I needed when I returned from my weekend away. Are you doing well? Holding your end of the bargain with Edward, so that he may hold his?

Today's so-old-it's-new-again lesson in the fundamental principles of science: correlation does not imply causation. Rotting meat doesn't spontaneously generate maggots. Rising ice cream sales don't cause violent crime. Vaccines don't cause autism. Genetically modified crops don't cause allergies.

And the arrival of a large community of displaced and, admittedly, often rather unusual individuals does not cause the arrival of violent giants of mysterious origin.

Some of us came here on bikes.

I am so dreadfully sorry that you were subjected to Edward's appalling behaviour yesterday. I cannot apologise enough. I'm afraid it is my fault. I have been very busy and I haven't let him out all month and that does rile him up terribly. I should have hidden my computer and phone before I let him out yesterday.

I am so terribly sorry.

From what I understand, the time I am from was a part of the "Little Ice Age". Snow and ice and terrible weather weren't unusual. But I'm very certain that I do not recall ever seeing so much snow at one time. I'm very glad to be here, safe and sound and, most of all, warm. While the houses we live in may be magnificent, there are times when a bed was the warmest spot one could find.

Have you survived the snowstorm? I'm running low on hot chocolate, myself.

I don't suppose you would like to reprise our date from a few weeks ago, with Scrabble replacing reading aloud?

Hello, friend. I feel as if we haven't spoken in ages. Are you well? Keeping busy? I've started at university and it's quite a change from being a lady of leisure, I do assure you!

I have been here for nearly a year now and I have to say it had been a far better year than I ever expected. I miss my friends, it is true, but the acceptance I have received here has been astonishing. I sometimes fear being sent back but I know that if I am, I will not remember any of this in order for that fear to continue. Which sounds somewhat grim now that I put it down on paper.

Does anyone ever actually keep New Year's resolutions or is it just something to make yourself feel good about yourself for just the month of January? Or do you purposely pick something that'll only be good for one month?

I have decided that I quite enjoy the modern Christmas. It would be very easy to concentrate on the negative things but I choose not to. I enjoy the lights and the seemingly endless cheer. I enjoy the songs and the trees and the decorations. It is not how I was used to celebrating Christmas at home but there is a charm and a joy to it that I like.
