A year ago today I arrived here. The Tesserract chose to remind me of that by sending me something I never thought I would see again and it made me cry. Happy tears, sad tears...I have no idea what kind they are but I'm having a hard time stopping them.

[Filter: Mulder]
Would you mind coming over? I'm sorry..it just..well this threw me for a loop and..I'll explain when you get here. I just need you right now.

Best wishes to the hordes of you in Asgard, righting wrongs & ending tyrannies where-ever you go. Due to your efforts, earth is still in the clear and for that, you have my small (if not effusive) thanks. We haven't managed to bung it all up yet. You should come home to a relatively peaceful city.

The Tesseract has - however - in the absence of all our friends seen fit to bestow gifts upon us and as I am not qualified to speak on its ability to transport non-living objects, well, I shan't look a gift horse in the mouth. From small personal items to two copies of the TARDIS and a very fancy car, it's been a busy little doorway.

And it sent me something yesterday, too. I, in fact, received a certain briefcase as well as my father's favourite fountain pen. Capital gifts, Tesseract. My thanks to your intense look into my personal history.

[FOXTROT]
Debrief since Nova Scotia's been quiet. Consider this a touchbase (not that I'm attempting to carve out any independence from our handlers) as operating on a team requires communication.

The cube is a strange thing but I needed this since I miss them even more.

My locket with the pictures of Klaus, Sunny and my late parents is somehow here. Picking it up at lunch break (at work today) and just have to find some ribbon or a chain for it.

I admit, I'm fairly excited about heading off planet. Even if it's not on a starship.

[Filtered to his students + AOS!Kirk]
All of your work for the semester should have been turned in by now. However, I realize students lives are always filled with extenuating circumstances. If any of you have work / final projects that have not yet been submitted, please submit them to Jim Kirk the younger as I am heading off to Asgard today. I will be in correspondence with you about your final grades if you haven't already received them from me.

As this semester draws to a close, I just wanted to check in and see how all of you were doing. If there's interest, I'd like to host a small get together over the holidays for all of you in recognition of the hard work you've put in (or for those of you just joining us, to get to know you better). If you need to get a hold of me regarding this semester or next, feel free to do so via the journals as I probably won't be at my office hours over the next week or so since I'll be off planet.

I also got talked into signing up for the auction so this should be an experience, especially since I've not exactly been on a date before.

But maybe I can get a project idea or two out of this?

[info]pymjr

This has to be the coolest toilet ever. It's got music and lights and feet warmers! Not sure why they'd make it with a retractable drinking fountain, doesn't seem very sanitary. And it doesn't talk, but, I'd totally program it to.

Comics tomorrow?

[Next Avengers]
Do you think Torunn's okay? Also, have you seen all the Christmas stuff?! There's so much! It's everywhere! What are you getting for your parents? Are we going to make something for Tony?

To everyone who was at the ranch for Thanksgiving today*, sorry about the turkey exploding/turning into a rocket. I've really no idea how that happened. Okay, maybe I do, but I'm trying to be a responsible adult here. At least we had plenty of other food to go around.

I'll be here all weekend in case anyone wants to get away for the city for a bit / get some riding in.

[AOS Kirk]
That was pretty brilliant. I honestly didn't think we could get it to go that high. Now I just want to build more rockets that aren't made of food.

*If your character is Starfleet or knows Starfleet folks, consider yourself invited. The more the merrier.

[info]ladymacgyver

I'm watching Punkin Chunkin on Science and well I would love to build a machine like that now! Yes I already have ideas as we speak.

Short version: people build machines to send pumpkins flying.

*Filter: Inventors and anyone under 25*

Anyone want to attempt building one just for fun?

I'm going to see Peggy, since it's Thanksgiving and there's family things going on with all you Americans. I'd be in the w Just thought you ought to know as I've named you my emergency contact.

I'm working Black Friday.

Yes I might be crazy but between the extra cash, being from Europe and having no family here I might as well help people with TV's gone haywire and all the other problems this holiday can bring.

But at this same time this period is making me miss Klaus and Sunny even more. Maybe the cube will be nice and bring them here?

[Filtered to Female Scientists][If your character is classified as a scientist in their canon, you're likely in this filter.]

I know I haven't spoken with most of you, but I have with some. My name is Lucy Stillman, I currently work for Stark Industries. Recently it's been made aware to me that there are quite a few of us in this world, native or not, and it struck me as the most extraordinary opportunity. While it might not be true in all worlds, I know in mine it was exceedingly rare to find a female colleague within my company.

So I was wondering if perhaps we all wanted to create a bit of a network among ourselves. There are many young women who seem to be interested in our fields, and mentoring can be very fulfilling. And there is something to be said to have others to rely on and share information with, especially given most of our unique perspectives as outsiders in this world. Though those of you from this world I gladly welcome, your insight on how to operate within this universe would be priceless.

If anyone is interested, please let me know. It'd be nice if we could possibly all get together.

Any males in the tower want to road test a pair of cuff links with GPS built in? The earrings on the female side of the project are in testing but want to cover all the bases.

But on a lighter note I was watching last year's Punkin Chunkin on Science and I would love to enter!

*Filter: Claire Bennett*

Pardon the mess! The GPS cufflinks meant more parts than I first allowed for.

*Filter: Scientific types and anyone under 25*

Am I crazy for thinking about applying for an internship at Stark Industries? Because while I love my job at the yard I just miss the other parts of science like the thrill of the discovery and not having people outside here or the yard look at me funny after a run for parts.

*Filter: Captain Pike*

Would it be reasonable to shoot for sometime after the holidays to take the GED? I'm also looking into internships as we speak (ok type).

With all the craziness going on, I'd like to add that Wesley is not acting like himself. He's acting like his sixteen year old self.

I haven't talked to you in forever it seems like. How are you? We should get some lunch sometime.

I'm enjoying my private investigator work with Myka, but I've always been something of a "multi-tasker" before there was a term for it. After all, I used to be a Warehouse apprentice, author, and scientist at the same time.

So, I have been considering seeking grant money to fund my continuing scientific work, such as anti-gravity work as discussed with Ms Moya or perhaps revisiting my time machine. Those projects would be refining previous work that I've done, but I'd like to continue to invent as well. Frankly, these things take money-- or the creative acquisition of necessary resources-- for the materials, the equipment, work space, etc.

[Filtered to friends and previous acquaintances]
I must vow that I will never again watch the television programs that I used to fake my way through CSI work. I might meet the people I saw in them, and that would be awkward.

I have a feeling a mad scientist is a bit cliché for a Halloween costume so suggestions?

And is it a bad thing I'm sort of thinking about the future? Between school and looking into internship especially, its like I just miss the active learning.

Any men on the network wear cufflinks? Like the ladies jewelry from a few nights ago I've been working on a men's version of the embedded GPS system and just need someone game enough to try it out.

Luke: I think I also figured out what was up with your specs.

So the whole alternate realities thing I get, I mean we did literally just close a dimensional portal into a world of alien monsters bent on world domination. I'm also cool with the fact that apparently comic books are real because I mean really, who wouldn't.

What I'm not okay with is WHY THE HELL IT HAD TO HURT SO DAMN MUCH!

Oct. 8th, 2013

[info]ladymacgyver

My newest outside of work/school side project is actually about ready for testing.

So anyone want to try out a GPS system embedded in jewelry? I have two versions in progress: one in a pair of earrings and the other in a charm for a bracelet.
