Oh Godric, I love the internet. People really shouldn't tell me about 'fanfiction' and then leave me to my own devices to search for it.

Harry Potter and the Case of the Black Lipstick
The next day I woke up in my coffin. I put on a black miniskirt that was all ripped around the end and a matching top with red skulls all over it and high heeled boots that were black. I put on two pairs of skull earrings, and two crosses in my ears. I spray-painted my hair with purple.

In the Great Hall, I ate some Count Chocula cereal with blood instead of milk, and a glass of red blood. Suddenly someone bumped into me. All the blood spilled over my top.

"Bastard!" I shouted angrily. I regretted saying it when I looked up cause I was looking into the pale white face of a gothic boy with spiky black hair with red streaks in it. He was wearing so much eyeliner that I was going down his face and he was wearing black lipstick. He didn't have glasses anymore and now he was wearing red contact lenses just like Draco's and there was no scar on his forhead anymore. He had a manly stubble on his chin. He had a English accent. He looked exactly like Joel Madden.

"I'm so sorry." he said in a shy voice.

"That's all right. What's your name?" I questioned.

"My name's Harry Potter, although most people call me Vampire these days." he grumbled.

"Why?" I exclaimed.

"Because I love the taste of human blood." he giggled.

"Well, I am a vampire." I confessed.

"Really?" he whimpered.

"Yeah." I roared.

So, I now officially have a job for my time here.

It sort of feels like ranking day again.

And ... I'm done.

There seems to be a rather lot of us here. How utterly delightful. I can't say I'm getting used to this place but I have to admit the technology is rather fascinating.

I wonder if this Tesseract thing is trying to make us even more uncomfortable than we already are. I have seen two Weasleys thusfar and Potter - I feel as if we are the unlucky ones in this.

Also, hello my friends, at least you are all here, it could be much worse.

Is it okay to watch and read about each other? I would not want to disturb your privacy, any of you, if you were not okay with it. Even if everyone else knows. I do not want to annoy anyone with ignorance, when I can self-educate, if that's wanted either.

Alright. I think maybe it's time to actively address this whole employment issue, since obviously we're not going home anytime soon-

It works very differently where I'm from, so if there's anyone from a similar society willing to help, I'd greatly appreciate it. I completed my education two years ago when I was 16, but it seems that schooling lasts longer in other places- including this one. I'm 18-19 (18 in my world which was about five months in the past, and 19 here), I've gone through extensive combat training and also trained others to harness similar skills, studied a great deal about the psychological effects of fear, and I also worked extensively with computers for about a year- programming, code-writing (and breaking), etc. I suppose some sort of job that employs any or all of these skills would be ideal, but I'm not really sure what those jobs would be. I have been trying to get a grasp of what the "job market" is like here (as evidenced by my use of the term "job market" since we don't really use it at home), but I feel like I could easily waste time that should be spent actually applying to jobs by doing that, when some of you might be able to offer advice.

Besides jobs applicable to those skills though, any suggestions for jobs that aren't completely mind-numbing are welcome.

I've also gotten the sense that in this world, most people my age go to college. Is that required, and if not, what are the benefits? It seems like most of the programs last for four years, and I hope we won't- I'm not sure I'll really be here for that long, so I don't know if there's much sense in that option.

I know that was really boring, so if anyone actually bothered to read it, I'll try to do something useful for you in return.

I know you guys don't really know much more about this stuff than I do, but do you have any idea what I could do here?

I did try to look up more about Stark Enterprises and SHEILD, but unsurprisingly there's nothing that really speaks about the actual character of the institutions...basically I just want some sort of assurance that I won't be working for a bunch of Jeanine types, and I'm not sure that I'll be able to get that.

I just found out (after fiddling on this computer) that I wasn't even in the movie about the series of books that I'm supposedly from. Or that we are from. I don't know - I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around all of these universes coming together, even though it's been a little over a week.

Anyway, that's not the point of this post. The point is that there are worse things, to be sure, but it still resulted in a bit of a bruised ego when I read it. Not that I'd say I'm terribly integral in the grand scheme of things, but still. Unexpected.

Moral of the story - if you feel like experiencing a "post-apocalyptic" time where kids have to fight to the death, opt for the book. Because I'm in the book.

This place is just like everywhere else. People are horrible and mean and they call me names. Supposedly adult men just called me a "bitch" and a "whore" and all sorts of other horrible things just because I disagree with them.

And of course, they made fun of me for being blonde, while calling me a bigot.

I hate this place.

I hate people.

And I thought it could be different here.

[OOC: Yes...Gabby is sixteen and in full-on drama queen mode now. XD Sorry.]

[info]onlyfour

I just realized- I don't know how old I am.

Where I was from, it was nowhere near my birthday, and here, we've already passed it, so I honestly don't know whether I'm eighteen or nineteen anymore.

Does anyone know how that works? I don't really know what to put down on job applications....I also don't really know what I'm going to do for a job, but I think I might need to sort out this age issue first.

While I have yet to read the books I'm apparently part of, I have picked up a couple others. I think that may have been a bad idea. Because I'm comparing the books to those people walking around. It's actually slightly head-ache inducing!

Who is this genius who decided to write a series of novels about the exciting adventures of Tris Prior? Tris gets a haircut. Tris makes dinner. Tris eats cake. Tris gets tattoos. Was the intention death-by-boredom?

We should totally do something awesome for Christmas, by the way. I looked up all kinds of crazy stuff about this holiday here and yes. WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING.

Uh. and Hi. I miss you both. I may have been off exploring the city this week on my own. Didn't want to interrupt reunion time. But. I don't want to wander too far alone with Peter around.

I know you probably don't know too much about either of them yet, but I just want to know what your gut feeling is about these organizations. What do you think about Stark Industries and SHEILD?

I was speaking to Luke, who runs the youth program thing, when I first got here about how we could get back, and he said that if I have any skills that might help them reopen the "doorway" then I should make them known to our floor assistant. Well, I told Buffy about my computer skills, since those seem like they would be applicable, and she said to inquire at Stark Industries or SHEILD. Apparently SHEILD is working more closely towards reopening the doorway, but recently they've asked for help from this Stark Industries, which develops new forms of technology, and specifically noted that applicants should have a "preternatural ability with computers".

I don't really know anything about Stark Industries, and SHEILD, seems to me, like the people who brought us here in the first place, so I'm not really sure how it works that they're the ones trying to get us back as well. I also really didn't like them when I first encountered them after being taken. But, those feelings aside, if they're the ones actually working towards getting us back, then maybe it's a good idea to put my tech skills to use. I need a job anyway, and I honestly have no idea what I'm qualified for.

What do you think? I know you want to get back, and I do too. I guess we're both just masochists or something, but honestly, it doesn't feel right to be here with all that's going on. Even if our lives at home really do go on, I can't help but worry that the fact that part of me is here will affect how I perform back home, if that makes sense. After all, doesn't this mean we're missing a part of ourselves? And what if that has a negative impact on how things turn out?

Introductions, introshmuctions. That sounded much better in my head. Actually, it sounds much better when I say it, and this whole typing computer thing is going to ruin my shtick. Bummer.

I am the one and only Buffy Summers. Except for that one from the alternate "I wish Buffy Summers had never come to Sunnydale" world. She was kind of scary. And butch and that is SOO not me angry. I'm the Housing Assistant for the 3rd and 4th floors, so if there's anything you need, please feel free to hit me up.

But don't literally hit me. I hit back. And hard. Trust me on that one.

I'd like to apologize now because, uh, apparently I abuse the English language and fill every sentence with pop culture references like a bad pop culture referencing thingy. Oops?

Remember that time when you were in my room right before the rankings went up? We talked about doing all these different things, and it just hit me that we never did, because, well, life. We should do some of those things while we're here, because...I don't know that we'll ever- it seems like it's easier to do stuff here, doesn't it?
So, a few things:
1) There are entirely too many cars. You know, it's perfectly possible for a city to function without quite so many. Besides the petty annoyance that they make walking much more difficult than it need be, isn't such a large quantity of vehicles bad for the environment? It's also so loud all the time. And crowded.
2) The trains are very weird. Why are they underground? Do you really just walk onto all of them? Do all of them just stop for you?
3) What is so crucial about 'Starbucks' that it seems that one must be within walking distance of one of their facilities at any given moment?
4) For people who live in a place that's...similar to this (or, maybe basically if you're not from where I am) how do people...live? I mean, who do they live with? Okay, this is kind of hard to word. Where I'm from, people choose to live in a particular faction when they're sixteen. It may or may not be the same faction that their family lives in- if it's not, you usually don't see your family much anymore. Are people really just stuck with their- So do people just normally live with their families then?

I feel like I have a question about nearly everything that I encounter. This place is very strange to me. It's not...bad, really. It's just weird.
