The start of a new year is a momentous occasion among thousands of cultures. Although it hasn't been an easy adjustment for me -- a sentiment I am certain is a common one -- I am truly thankful to have spent my first new year celebrations among such admirable people. There's nothing quite like the Holidays to make one sentimental. I saw a write-up on Hanukkah, and it made me think of my wife. I'm not Jewish, but she is. This is possibly the first time I ever publicly mentioned this fact; we always kept that bit of information discreet. Likewise, she celebrated her holidays very discreetly. I never felt comfortable celebrating with her, however. Is it offensive of me to want to light a candle in her memory?

Just in case the this is the dimension where Santa's real, I just wanted to say that I did way way better this year and I definitely deserve a unicorn.

Went into a Pinkberry looking for more lickable massage oils. I wasn't sure what a Pinkberry was even supposed to be, but I was way off. Very, very off. I'm still gonna need about a hundred more of that chocolate peanut butter sludge, though.

Take a witness statement. Arrest the person who attacked the place. I even could have understood being arrested for being a vigilante. But no, I was arrested for the crime itself. And the lucky imbecile who got away with it stuck around and laughed. Laughed. Angry black person, they said. They didn't even bother finishing all the paperwork last night. Bail got posted today. They still "may or may not press charges." No leaving the jurisdiction until they make up their damn minds.
