I just came through a tesseract and got interrogated by S.H.I.E.L.D. And this is a universe where comic books are real! I haven't disproved my initial hypothesis that this is a dream, but even if it is, it's a very good one.

So the Avengers are here? Iron Man? This is your technology and your tower so I know you're here. Ant-Man? Wasp? Thor? The Hulk? Captain America? Hawkeye? Scarlet Witch? Quiksilver? Hercules? Black Knight? Black Widow? Black Panther? Beast? Wonder Man? Falcon? Captain Marvel? Wolverine? Ronin? Spider-Man? Spider-Woman?

This is a Marvel universe, right? So no Batman, Superman, The Flash, Aquaman, or Green Lantern? That's very unfortunate. If this were my dream world they would be here.

I woke up this morning and realized it was already March. Please tell me I'm not the only one. Because I've still got Christmas decorations in my room that I apparently need to remember to take down and I was telling myself to wait until after New Year's.

Oops.

Oh, and who won the Scavenger Hunt? Looked like a lot of fun.

Introducing: SuperSud's Spring Lineup!

Limited Edition:
Garrus Vakarian: Neroli, honeydew melons, white amber, magnolia, sun-scorched wood and green musk. The musk cuts a masculine note admist lighter, clean fruits.
Setsuna Meioh: Mysterious, beautiful, and patient. Cinnamon against the background glow of amber and cardamom, pimento berry and creamy benzoin create a smoky, warm incense smell.
Claire Bennet: Deceptively girly with an edge that appears in the drydown. Sun-warmed daisies and pink musk against the base notes of caramel, fresh-cut grass, and metallic copper.
Diana Prince: Calming herbal lavender made powerful by the undercut of vertiver and amber. A frothy, diaphanous vanilla laces through a sharp lime. Unique, unisex, and beautiful.
Raven Darkholme: This one's a morpher, and is composed of ingredients that smell different depending upon your personal chemistry. Cotton candy goes straight to winter berries and black musk. Jasmine and orange peel in the background keep this perfume anything but traditional, but always lovely.
Rose Tyler: A blast of rain-tinted ozone, lime meringue, and freesia makes this perfume light, breezy, and clean - perfect for the office (or for going on space adventures and not making the doctor sneeze!). Adventurous and uncomplicated.
Sam Merlotte: Cozy, warm, and definitely sexy (sorry Sam, but everyone knows it's true!). This fragrance mixes ginger and caramel in a gourmand vein without ever getting too sweet. Smooth benzoin and single malt whiskey notes add depth, while brown musk makes the scent feeling... well, just a little bit furry.

Special Spring Scents: inspired by a comment made by Ellen Ripley. Thank you! This scents are available as perfume oils or as room sprays!

Flowers in Space This was a bit of an experiment - pure ozone, cold, clinical mint, and stray hints of a floating bouquet. Daisies, Queen Anne's Lace, and fresh stems hover at the edge of the scent. A unique take on smelling of flowers.
Flowers on the Battlefield: Lay down your wreath, and honor your heroes: Stately rose, white orchid, calla lily, rainfall, and cold stone. Serene and solemn.
Flowers in the Lab What happens if you deliver flowers to the lab geeks? Spritely, spicy carnations, a zap of electricity, and a light undercurrent of mint, smoke, and cologne of uncertain origin. Playful and silly!
Screw Flowers; They Suck For those of us who were spurned, get allergies, or otherwise loathe flowers: A forgotten bouquet of love-lies-bleeding (a spiky, plush flower known for its tendency to injure), despondent pear, and a box of discount Valentines Day Chocolates.

Also! The business has really taken off, and I'm so grateful to everyone who's purchased and enjoyed my products. It wouldn't have been possible without you, and without taking advantage of the strangely obsessive nature of NYC's bustling fandom.

That said, I would love to hire anyone interested in the following roles:

Packing/Shipping/Delivery: This person would ideally be able to lift up to 40 lbs easily and travel the city to deliver my products to participating stores. He/she would also need to manage the shipment of products from the web, and make sure that the orders are filled, packed, and picked up by the post office.

Shop Clerk: This person would need to be friendly, like meeting new people, and willing to help sell products in the store! I track sales but we don't do commission - just end of the month bonuses. All I need is enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, though an interest in bath and body products wouldn't hurt.

Can I be getting home already?

And
I reckon someone ought to have told me about red and green lights.

And I thought Houston was big.

Soooo informal poll! How do you feel about flowers for spring in perfume?

...it's boring, isn't it? Ugh, I knew it was boring ever since I saw Jo Malone's Sugar and Spice collection at Nordstrom this afternoon. How could I plan a collection around spring flowers? How DULL is that? Ughhhh now I need to revamp the prototypes ASAP.

Welcome to my life, the life of regret and last-minute inspiration. I live life by grabbing hold of the "oh shit" bar way too often.

Software is sadly way easier than perfume.

On the positive side, I managed to take out three hijackers on my lunch break! That helped.

If anyone needs hot water, I've got plenty and I won't be around much today to use it anyway. Just seeing a lot of complaints and trying to help out if I can.

In other news, Die Hard this weekend. Who's in?

[info]mettles

Would anyone like to join my friends and me in a community service project? We're going to build a playground for some inner-city kids. Could use some supplies, some brains, and some brawn to help. X-23, I'm lookin at you girl. Finesse, you better be in on this too. The more the merrier. Costumes are a must, this is like.. PR stuff and kids dig heroes.

Yo, what are you guys doing for work these days? I feel kinda useless being cooped up in this shack. Plus, these funds won't last forever.

I will say this only one more time.

Threatening to injure or kill anyone in this world, whether the person is a fellow resident of Potts Tower or a native citizen of this world, is not going to be tolerated by myself or by SHIELD or by those in charge of protecting all of us, although I do not speak for them. I strongly suggest that all of you keep this in mind, and that you do everything within your power to keep yourselves in line. We want this to be a safe place to live, and we need your help in doing so.

FILTERED TO TONY STARK & PEPPER POTTS:
Darcy seems to believe that Peter Pettigrew would be better off not living in Potts Tower, for his own safety. I told her I'd mention it to you two. I don't know what happened at SHIELD when he arrived. I can only assume they discovered that he has yet to commit the atrocities he later does, but as you both know, my status with SHIELD is non-existent now. I don't know why I bother defending

WARNING: THAT LINK IS GRAPHIC.

I don't know how magic works in other worlds, or how open societies are with them, but in mine, we hid for a good reason. We studied the witch hunts, the men and women burned or hanged or stoned alive simply for being accused of being witches. I know a lot of those from my world here would argue that we can indeed live in peace and harmony with the Muggles non-magical folk. I would simply point them to this news story, which details how an accused witch was burnt alive. That news story does show graphic, though thankfully Muggle non-moving, photographs of the incident.

Now, you may say 'But Blaise, that occurred in a small pocket of the world, nowhere near as advanced as our illustrious 'western society' claims to be,' I would direct you to this story, which isn't graphic at all, but it absolutely disgusting in its dismissal of witchcraft as the devil's work. (The fact that our hospital is named St Mungo's seems to be lost on them.) See there? In these United States? Yea, there's a reason we're not public and it doesn't take a witch burning across the world to see why. No wonder the protesters don't take kindly to us being here.

I don't want you going out by yourself.
Nor really do I want you staying in this prime target either.
We need a new plan. Staying anywhere is disadvantageous for us.

[info]doesntsuck

Here's a story about my morning. I'm out getting coffee down the street and three young women come running over to me screaming with excitement. I've seen some of you talking about tourists and I figured that's what all this was about.

So they come up and finally get their screams under control, then ask for autographs and tell me how much they love me. Which is kind of flattering. I try to be friendly and appreciative, signing whatever they ask me to.

Which is when the excitement seems to stop. "You're not Sawyer? From Lost?" Apparently saying No, I'm Joe, though you probably know me as Aquaman is probably the worst possible answer. I got an "Oh," then they trudged back to the bus they had jumped out of.

Moral of the Story: I think I'm going to start telling people I'm Sawyer from Lost.

And I'm starting to think mistaken identity is becoming a theme for some of us in the Tower.

I'm really not sure if I've ever been this tired. And that's saying something. Worked thirty-six hours straight through the blizzard. Then came home, slept two or three hours, and worked another sixteen.

But it feels great. I mean, we helped a lot of people, and it felt good to actually be making a difference. That's why I went into the medical field in the first place; to help people.

Hope everyone in the tower stayed safe during the blizzard.

Any big plans this weekend?
[End Filter]

For those curious, the NY Aquarium is still closed til further notice due to the storm damage, and we're buckling down for this incoming weather, but I wanted to at least put it out there that we're to the point where private tours can at least come through - as long as you excuse the "Pardon our Dust" type of signs.

That being said, I want to put out a belated thanks to everyone that's spent time helping rebuild everything from housing to playgrounds to even just handing out food the last month or so. You've really made a different to a lot of people.
