The three of us are some of the highest ranking SHIELD agents left. And I know each of us has had our own projects to attempt to bring back and help agents caught in this crossfire.

And from channels that can be tapped into it seems there are moves being made against HYDRA in Europe. Whether either of you are involved in that is another story. We all know SHIELD isn't dead and I'll be damned if I see those ideals, good ideals, go to waste.

And I would think I'm not the only one who feels that way. Which means we should be working together.

It does also bring up the idea of funding. We can only do so much without some sort of funding.

[The light from the torch tucked into Fitz's hand helped him navigate to the hard line as it stood situated in the currently-vacant bay. He swapped it to his mouth, keeping the wires illuminated while both hands plucked and reconfigured wires. This was a cake walk; if not for some slightly unpolished motor skills, he could've even done it all in the pitch black. All that was left was checking for the tone that signaled a connection -- which buzzed back to his ear the moment he lifted the receiver.

"Yes!" was kept to a whisper. The phone itself was turned over, then, and Simmons number plugged in as it was known by rote. He couldn't help that his heart skipped a beat. Telling himself that it was due to sneaking around on the Bus didn't completely work. Telling himself that it was due to Simmons being stationed back in the Hub only covered part of it, too. She'd be able to get the lab's documentation on Skye's blood for their joint research if anyone could. The rest... well, this wasn't the time to deal with that.
