I was told today that I am not 'elf' enough. I am not certain how much more 'elf' I am supposed to be than what I already am.

I’m told it’s expected that I introduce myself here. Fine. I am Cassandra Pentaghast. Your "Starbucks" makes little sense. There are a thousand choices and none of them sound sensible. What is a half-caff soy latte supposed to be? Why do I need to half anything just to drink it? There is no point to any of this.

Semi-serious question for the natives around here:

How does having a church full of men not scare the ever-loving shit out of you? Ours went to crap even with women in charge, and every time a man puts on a big hat and calls himself "Father", things get on fire incredibly fast.


Second question:

This paper money thing. Why? Is there something I'm missing, but it seems as if your money literally grows on trees, and if that was a legitimate way to pay for things, I know a few elves who would wipe their asses with something different.

It has been a hard year that has seen much loss, for me and for my home, but again I am struck by how grateful I am to be able to spend the holidays here, among people I love. And hard years make way for good ones. I believe that.

For anyone who lent Asgard their sword in last year's battles, my thanks are eternal. Seek me out and I'll treat you to drink or food - or just my company, if that suffice.

Perhaps I am inclined to believe in this world's Christmas after all.
