Really? It's Saturday and I have the weekend off? Thank god that my column is done. I think a shopping trip is in order.

So thanks, everyone who came out to the Scratcher last night. It was a lot of fun, you know. 'Til the manager decided not to pay Llewyn 'cause he talked to his girlfriend. Wouldn't be talked out of the decision, either. At least, not as easily as my jaw was talked out of place by his fist. But it's all right, a night's work and straight on until morning.

Hope you'll all come out again, wherever it is he manages a set next time.

I've made up the third bedroom here for Kira, if she ever wants to stay the night. The room needed something done with it, and Kira's a big enough girl I didn't expect you'd move back over here, Sarah. But there are plenty of craft supplies, if she'd like to do anything. And I'd be willing to sew her a costume for Halloween. Are the two of you doing anything for Halloween? I haven't finalized any plans of yet, as going trick or treating with Kira, or going to celebrations here, whichever, with her is the best way to pass the night I can think of.

Over a year, I have been here. It's been a couple weeks since the anniversary. Everyone has them, and it did not seem like something to celebrate, as much as I do appreciate being here. It's only when you're entirely removed from something that you can think about it clearly. Then the choices you make come from that, not the stresses of whatever ails you. Life is not easier here, nor without troubles, tribulations, and tragedies. But it's a fresh start, like pilgrims coming over for a new life. And we are more than an ocean away from the old world we came from. We are free.

So let's go over what we're working on. We've been trying to track down the source of Gamma Candy. Jon and I currently have contacts within the Silvermane family's dockside business and managed to at least stall operations when a man they called the Chemist who was behind its development for the streets. The Chemist just got ID'd at the coroner's office as Derek O’Reilly, former employee of Shaw Industries.

Which brings us to how did the interview go, Jon?

I've always liked humble pie, especially when I'm not the one to eat it.

I've arranged to spend a few days at Falsworth Manor to glory in the beauty of the autumn-clad countryside. There is to be, I'm told, a harvest festival as well as Hallowe'en activities. Shall I be the tricked or the treated?

Someone must answer me.

Does the veil between the spirit realm and the physical realm truly become thinner at the end of this month?

Just a reminder that this upcoming Friday, Parker's will be holding its first annual Halloween costume contest. We'll be giving out prizes for the funniest and the best and holding a dance competition for those who like to shake their groove thing. Doors open at 8pm, and it's 18+ that night so bring your boogying shoes and your friends.

(And if anyone's looking for a little extra cash that night, I can tell you already we'll he short-staffed for all around. Come on by before Friday.)

Hey Sugar beet,

I'm heading over to the Mansion, I just got the projected repair costs from the contractors and they came in under budget, which means I can probably sneak in a few upgrades, with focus on security, I imagine. It's not Jan's fault that that Scarecrow minion got past the front door, it's mine. JARVIS should have been able to scan for threats before he walked past the threshold, so that's something I want to add.

And there's a little matter about Steve wanting to grant Bucky Barnes access to the mansion that we should probably you know. Work out. Not that I don't trust Steve's bro, or whatever. But until we're sure he's gonna be okay, I'm not sure I'm comfortable with having him wander the halls unchecked.

So this week has been actually the worst. I'm doing some work with Bruce for a couple hours but -- tomorrow. It's Sunday. What do you have on the table? I wouldn't mind, you know. Making it a day of rest.
