After several weeks of contemplating precisely what I want to do, I have decided to open an apothecary of sorts. As much as one can open such a shop here but that is beside the point. It will be in the Village and will be called Ophiuchus.

And it is pity I had walk in via the front entrance this morning. Some poor unfortunate thrower of water will be developing the most horrific boil on his backside in the coming days. It will undoubtedly need to be lanced. Slowly. Painfully. Possibly even repeatedly.

I will have a reasonably full supply of potions, both standard and otherwise, as well as all the standard ingredients. I will also be able to supply modified instructions for brewing potions that would normally require magical ingredients if you wish to brew them for yourself. The rarer or more unusual potions can be brewed upon request.

Every now and then I forget that humans are terrible creatures. I let all of the good we do cloud my judgment and I'm suddenly surprised at how awful we can be. To stand outside of someone's home and call them such disgusting names, chanting proudly their misconstrued Bible verses to justify their hatred. It makes my stomach turn and my heart break and my blood boil. Why do we treat each other like trash? Because some of us are different? I'll never understand the need for people to split into categories of "us" and "them." All I can do is hope that these people find the path to love, and pray that anyone offended by these monsters doesn't let it get to them. Vampires, werewolves, and creatures alike are all inherently good. It just takes one bad one to ruin an image, and that's not okay.

In learning about the culture here, I discovered that turning 18 is when you become an adult. Is there any sort of ceremony? Or is just another birthday here? In Japan we have the Coming of Age Ceremony for when we become adults at age 20.

I've been gatherin' up supplies for the ranch. I was thinkin' I might just spend most of the next few weeks out at the ranch anyway. I've got three or four furniture orders to fill and it's easier for me to just stay in one place while I'm in that groove anyway, but the commotion round the tower has pretty much cemented that intention. You thinkin' of anything I might need to take back out with me when we go?

And - I've been thinkin', it's hard enough to get everything transported. I may work on gettin' a drivers license - if I can - and gettin' us a truck to haul things back and forth more easily. Probably should have done that months ago.

We've still got a little less than a month to go before summer starts in earnest, and plans are really starting to fall into place for all of the activities that we're planning for the youth center. That being said, the person whom we had engaged to carry out the arts and crafts side of things has accepted a position across the country and it's become necessary that she move in mid-July. Is there anyone who has experience in working with children and pulling of an art project in a day? Because we would really like to talk to you.

If you've volunteered and you consider yourself a strong fighter, I've put you in for patrols. This is the schedule as it is currently.

At the moment I've scheduled almost everyone for about three nights. I've tried to keep a pretty even number of people patrolling every night. You are free to patrol any night that you are not scheduled and I know some of you may - but this way we'll know the city has coverage every night and can arrange locations.

I've left myself, Buffy, and Sam unscheduled specifically so that we have people to call if you can't make a night.

If you are not scheduled and you'd like to be, let me know. If you are scheduled and you don't want to be, let me know. Basically if this doesn't work for you I need to know that.

If anyone needs a crash course in training or would like to do individual training - talk to me and we'll make it happen.

I understand that last year, there was incident involving fear gas from comic book villain Scaregrow. I understand that you were not involved in it, but as you're a physician with SHIELD, I wondered if you knew who I could speak with on the toxicology of this compound?

I have a patient currently suffering from a more long-term version of this gas, and I'd like to see if there is a counter to it. And if not a counter, perhaps something to ease the patient's sleep.

I've been reading up on Neuroscience these last few months, both the course syllabi for some courses at Columbia and recent advances in scientific journals. It's remarkably interesting. I can see why you all like it. Even from what little I know, what you're doing with mice is remarkable.

I like JARVIS. I talk with him whenever I miss having conversations with the computer. His manners and mannerisms are different, but he's more relaxed about racing me on mathematical problems. We're 104-97. I've mostly lost habit of talking with my computers here, but sometimes I do. At work he reminds me he is not computer I'm trying to talk with.

Well, well, well. My trips to England do seem to get more interesting each time I go.
