Well the new year is actually a fair bit upon us, but having been a strange few weeks, it somehow doesn't really feel it. Still, with a new year, one can turn over a new leaf, and I think everyone feels a bit of a compulsion towards self improvement. Though perhaps changing facets of ourselves isn't entirely the most healthy approach to happiness. Who can say?

In any case, we have had one in the past but due to the whims of the Tesseract most involved have come and gone or returned again. Might anyone be interested in a book club?

Bearing another foolish gambit, I should be done with field agent training Saturday :).

I'm still a little uncertain I wasn't better off staying in lab, but I suppose the time to think of that was last fall.

It has been one hell of a hectic time. I wanted to thank everyone personally for the hard work they did during the blackouts. You made a bad situation a lot better than it could have been and I appreciate your hard work and quick response time.
The new system is fully operational now, and shouldn't give us any more trouble. I know Pepper has already announced our intention to fully reimburse anyone who donated money to buying supplies -- and you can still see her or me about that. And if there is anything else I can do, let me know.

Chekov worked tirelessly on this project, and despite the few problems we had, I do believe that we owe him a great deal of thanks for his commitment over the past year to making New York City a better, more energy efficient place to live, so if you see him, give him a pat on the back.

I know I've been absent from my post quite a bit lately because of my involvement with Asgard. But it is January and a new year means I want to take some time to review your projects, and talk about your progress. This isn't an evaluation by any means, it's just me wanting to catch up with you and make sure we're still on the same page. I should be available for a whole now, of you want to schedule some time. I have to take a brief trip overseas in the near future but otherwise I am at your full disposal.

I told you so, you all scoffed and I The longer I'm here, the more I grow accustomed to seeing people every day and living in a City that probably influenced our Capitol. I don't really like getting used to anything -- I don't like the word, don't like the thought.

I don't like the thought of people dying on the street because of the cold, I don't like the idea of 5th Avenue and I really hate Wall Street. Just in case you were wondering.

But I really like the way that everybody came together this week to make sure people stayed warm with the power being off. And I like the way that some people give of themselves to make sure everybody has a little. And there's nothing redeeming about Wall Street.

I keep talking about taking some of you up into the mountains. I got the cold weather gear, got the Jeep all fired up and am proud to say I'm no longer driving it illegally. I've got four spots in my vehicle, if anybody else wants to caravan. There aren't any mints on pillows or WiFi where we're going.

I have a feeling that this is the result of watching a Frontline documentary yesterday and helping out in the city the last few days, but why'd you join SHIELD?

I miss being part of something bigger. Knowing I was doing something for the greater good. Like the Order. Not that I don't miss the constant threat of death hanging over all of us and not knowing if it would truly be the last time I would see someone. But the greater good. I think the ESD winter break has spoiled me. I missed having work to do and the teaching, but I quite enjoyed not having any work at the same time.

But I am glad that classes are back in session so I am able to share my knowledge of languages with others.
