When Peeta was here, he and I had discussed alternatives to prosthetic limbs, when I fixed his. I had temporarily fixed his leg and then built him a new one. A better one, with more mobility and ease of use. Nerve sensation pads, more fluidity, that sort of thing.

Here, I'm human and don't require occasional cybernetic upgrades to my suit or my body even as tempting as it is to make my vision better or boost my imm, so it was a project I had set aside. But I think now that I have a workshop, I'd like to start it back up again. So um, if this is something anyone needs... please come see me! I especially like challenges. :)

Well a couple of weeks ago I got a book out of one of them boxes people leave things in for free. I got it because it was small and it looked about the right size to go under a lamp I have which is always wobbling probably because I got it out of a box too but people leave so much stuff on the side of the road it's stupid to buy anything.

Today I started to read it because I had to come home from work early on account of my head hurting that way they do when looking at lights can make you feel all done over in the stomach and I couldn't even think of looking at something all lit up like a screen.

Anyway it's about this place called Starkfield Massachusetts which apparently everyone wants to get the hell out of and it does sound pretty cold and lousy. But near as I can tell from the first two chapters it's just a story what's already given up its ending which is that a fellow who probably did want to get out of Starkfield couldn't see his way to getting out of Starkfield and now he's old and wretched. It's all pretty slow going so I don't see why I should shoulder on through the rest of it if it's already over.

I'll never know why people read when they get sick.

Sometimes I forget my father's dead. It's easy to do here. Just visiting, home still a snapshot from the last time we were all there at once. His smile and my mother's laugh, wet with wine and glowing in warm orange candlelight. And a wicked glint in my brother's eye and my sister's baby blonde curls just peeking over the table as he chased her.

And then I remember that no matter how much I practise, I will never open a door to them.

But I have learned to open doors to friends, so that's a small victory to be proud of. And it's all right to grieve and be happy at the same time.

The Met has been doing this thing on ~PUNK CULTURE~ and I haven't seen it yet so I'm going to go there.

When I was a teenager, Spider-Man was a big deal (if only I knew it was Parker). And the Fantastic Four. I had a crush on Johnny (and I got to go to a movie with him the other day! DREAMS COME TRUE). Then again, I also had (HAVE) a crush on Bill Murray so I don't know what that says about Johnny.

I wanted to BE Linda Hamilton and Pat Benatar. That didn't work out for me, now did it?

So I was really excited about starting school up again but MY MOM SHOWED UP (!!) so now I'm kind of upset that I don't have more time to eat ice cream with her and watch 90's chick flicks and kung-fu movies.

Work has been surprisingly busy this week. Putting new works of art in the gallery. I want to set up the gallery though and do a show for young artists.
