Is it easy to travel on one of those flying beasties I see in the air all the time? I tried once but I got terrible sick. I want to try again though. It must be something marvellous to fly through the air. It'd be called witchcraft in my time of course but I've seen many a thing travelling with the Doctor that would be called witchcraft by the people in my village.

Also where would a man buy a watch? I've wanted one from the first time I saw Ben's. To be able to carry the time around on your wrist is right useful.

Paperwork is tedious but a necessary evil I fear.

In other news, I'm bored.

Looks like I might finally have a job. Tonks and I were looking into the police force here. We told them about our background, training, etc. If I get through their training, I should be able to get a job with the police department here in the city.

Hate those uniforms they wear, though.

How many of you have been able to find jobs that are close to the ones you have at home, and who's stuck in a job that's basically nothing like you did, and likely have no chance of finding what you're use to?

The great marker of humanity is being able to lie. It's what separates men from beasts. And also faeries. But that's pretty synonymous in my book.

I also find that familiarity breeds contempt. So, quit your shit.

I understand the position of the writers in the Times. Resources are limited, jobs are scarce and this world is just coming out of an economic climate that was well on its way to if not Twelve standards then something near that. Trust me, I understand that you have to look out for your own and sometimes that means raising your voice to be heard above the din. I'm pretty sure I would be protesting too.

Here's the thing, though. Since I've been here, I've put my shoulder to the wheel in trying to develop technology to help people. Personal history notwithstanding, I've been good at finding people in the past and I don't think that I'm using up any big amount of additional resources. In fact, I hope I'm giving back. There have been countless stories of we 'refugees' putting ourselves out there to help people.

That isn't to say that sometimes I think this world ought to scrap it all and start over (it's plenty messed up as ours was, it's just more subtle about the ways and means). It's just that if we're all here, I think we ought to at least try to be civil with each other. So if you're going to go on a tirade against any protester, how about you come talk to me first? I won't hurt you, I won't call the blonde next door. You can just yell as loud as you need do and then we'll have a drink.

Otherwise if you're tagged, you're going down. I'm not quite as trained as SHIELD spies but let's just say I can hold my own.

It hurts to look at them but it's a good picture. We weren't a miserable bunch despite what the picture shows. Damn Company idiots just dragged us out of our work for a 'promotional picture'. We weren't exactly the promotional picture types. I mean look at us. We more fit the definition of ragtag. I find it kind of funny that it's been mirrored here with the actors who played us.

Oh, my gosh. I knew there were viewers, but I didn't know that people were this invested in our lives! Goodness, ten percent of their goal was reached in an hour!!!

I wonder if it might be appropriate to come to some sort of decision about our world and our place in it. I realize that not everyone will agree, but it's like that back home as well, isn't it? But I don't think it's a good move to believe that just because the wizarding world doesn't exist here structurally as we're used to, that it can't exist.

It's funny how life works. Earlier this week I moved in with Kathryn and I didn't think I could be any happier.

Then the next day I found out that Clare is gone. I wish I had spent more time with her while she was here. I didn't get the chance to watch her grow up and I will always regret that. I know there is always the chance she'll come back and we'll start over again but I don't want to get my hopes up.

Well, it's taken a few weeks, but I have the Pie Hole II ready to open it's doors for a soft opening.

What does that mean? Well, essentially, we're just testing out the recipes and we don't have everything printed and all the uniforms and the design done. We're mostly looking for feedback from the public about our pies and everything. We serve both savory and traditional dessert pies, as well as coffee. Eventually we'll have espresso and all of that, but we're simple for the moment.
