I'm still enjoying my training. I've yet to have something thrown at me that I do not enjoy in some form.

Is there a person we can speak to about our accommodations being inadequate for our needs? I require a hover chair, or some means of reaching items above 3 1/2 feet in height. I've already eaten all the food on the bottom shelf of the frigidator and I'm tired of ordering out. Apparently the unwashed miscreants that deliver foodstuffs expect to be given additional remuneration for doing their job.

Most embarrassing thing you've ever done? While under the influence of a substance or otherwise?

I drunk texted McCoy thinking it was you last night. If you don't hear from me in a few days, come looking. I think the good Doctor is displeased with me again. Granted, he has good reason to be.

McCoy
Sorry. And thank you.

I had a lovely time again last night. Though I should probably cut back on the drinking. If the weather's nice this weekend, would you like to go do something?

The Duchess of Cambridge visited Grimsby several days prior. The press have been all over the woman trying to weasel out information on the sex of her child.

The remark she let slip is completely innocuous.

'Thank you, I will take that for my d..'

She may very well mean to give it to her dog, not her daughter.

I found my graduation gift on youtube.

All of this is still very strange, but I'm glad someone recorded it, so to speak.

In other news, I'm now also represented on twitter, facebook and Instagram.

Well I've been here for months and not one of the pilot jobs I applied for have called me back. Not one.

Not even JetBlue.

From the looks of it, I've as much chance becoming a pilot in his place as I have of becoming one of Katy Perry's back-up dancers.

Time for Plan A.5: formulating a Plan B.

Anyone have any suggestions for a former pilot who has no other marketable skills who can drive a moving van and is rather handy at cooking baked potatoes.

Anyone?

Help.

The New York Public Library is magnificent. I could happily spend every day there and not miss my dear old Bodleian one bit. They've already had to gently remind me to leave at closing time twice this week. I just need to obtain access to the special collections. I can't wait to delve into the Dorot Jewish Division and the Rare Books. I don't think it will take too long to reconstruct my research as it stood before I was brought here, catch up with the existing research in my areas of interest and then start examining where I need to go in terms of the research.

Incidentally and rather off topic, I found a shop that sells proper Stilton in Greenwich Village and rather indulged myself so if there was a distinctly Stiltonesque smell lingering in the corridor on the 12th floor, I do apologise.

I am told by th physicians here that they wish for me to return to them for a "follow-up". I can only assume that this is standard procedure among mortal healers of the time. As to my intentions to do such a thing ... I know not that it would serve any purpose.

Víressë. It means 'April' in the language of our people and it is sufficient to describe the season and the works made by my father; his first collection has taken a decidedly spring and summer air.

Víressë by Fëanáro.

Should you like to see more of the collection I will show you the new works. My father will be unable to attend but if you would like to meet with him I will also schedule a time and place.

If you have questions I will answer them too.

I have found being a leader of our people to be more or less stressful throughout the long years of our lives. But I have never imagined selling things would be so much more difficult.

I have assigned numbers to the men I must deal with in this place and it is through that alone that I remember who they are. I would like very much to run several of them through with a sword. My father would be pleased.

And aye, so would I.

Tch.

These people. But they serve a purpose. And I suppose I must not begrudge them that.

People need to stop using the word mortal and mortals. It rubs me the wrong way -- especially because it keeps being used in a dismissive, annoying, insulting way.

I joined a hackerspace today. (That's an interesting term. It doesn't quite have an analogue to anything I've heard before.)

It seems to be a good way to familiarize myself with the materials available on this world and their capabilities. They also pointed me toward resources for learning about programming and cyber manipulation. And there's a company that does three-dimensional printing in the building as well, which should prove useful.

If I'm going to be here, I'm going to make the best of it. And that means being useful.

Is there anyone else here who's been there before, or would be interested in joining? I'm not accustomed to unrestricted travel, and it would be helpful to have backup.
