To anyone who lost someone recently, know that the memories that you have of that person are what keeps them alive. You will always have your memories and nothing can take that from you.

Many people have been making posts since the White Event, pertaining to powers and seeking help to understand them, master them, or even deal with the confusion or consequences of them. Any number of parties have replied or made outreach posts on the subject. But it's a touchy subject. I know some of your history, growing up with it, and I've seen how minority groups have frequently been mistreated in the past and even the present day. This preamble is old news for you. But I was a government employee before I came here, working in the FBI. It took me some time to determine there was anything new and even more time to establish whom I wanted to go to about it. Namely, the X Men.

Not SWORD, not the Avengers (bless them, but they have more experience fighting than training), not other law enforcement.

But I do need help. I've developed a new, what I presume is, defense mechanism, which currently operates barely at a more controlled level than my immune system. When startled, shocked, etc, I explode. Or part of me does or the air around me does. I cannot say I've entirely isolated what is exploding. Whenever it happens, I am untouched, perfectly okay, but it is damaging to the people or things around me. While I've not gone for casual strolls since I determined this and been watchful, so as not to be surprised, it's only a matter of time until it ends terribly if I do not learn to control it.

I've possibly found the best shampoo and conditioner to date. My hair has never been more silky smooth. Herbal Essence commercials can get away with being over the top then.

I could only watch it halfway, from what it seems like. I couldn't go farther. I...so many were lost...

What do you all do here when you find out horrible things are ahead? I knew. I knew these things could happen. We are soldiers in a cruel world. But I never imagined...

I do thank everyone for their patience as A-Z Books will be closed for the rest of this week, as we clear up from an attack from vandals. Unfortunately, these ones weren't the ones from the fifth century, and instead are local hooligans who find it amusing to prey upon those they perceive to be weaker than they. And when they are caught, they will pay. Oh, yes.

I have a series of lectures at ESU starting next week on criminal profiling. My contact has been very polite, especially through the discussions on people who will be attracted based off of Hannibal. Which, granted, will be the entire audience. Still, we're going to see how well it goes with the students outside of gawkers. It might be something we continue with if Hannibal's fame doesn't overshadow the content.

Well that was an exciting news day. Certainly seemed to tie itself up nicely.

The school year is started up. I've secured several guest lecture spots on profiling over the next semester. I'd missed teaching. It's been far too long since I've been in a classroom. Granted it's perfectly warranted to not want me in a classroom, so it is nice to be invited.

Will, Alana, this is vividly important for the sake of everyone who has ever seen Star Wars. If you have not, shame on you we'll watch them this week. Luke Skywalker has agreed to a rap battle with his sister. Now you must convince her to take part in it and coach her. You can work together if you like. Agreed? Excellent. Go forth and recruit.

Some nights you don't need to accept questionable drinks from strangers to have an excellent time. That said, more power to you, Gaige. If anyone else's night has gone that way, I can take some hair and fiber samples and analyze them if you like.

It hasn't been news any of the times I've started fires at work here. Magical containment helps, but still, Stark Industries gets the strangest press. And Spider Man. It could have been worse: they could have thought it was an Iron Man/Spider Man conspiracy. They maintain one thread of sense in not going for Tony Stark sabotaging himself.

If there's one thing I'm really glad I did, it's put a collar with my name and address on my dog, Applesauce. Thank God they knew who to give her too. I have missed her so much.

Has anyone else received something from home? What was it?

You will not believe the job I now have. Unless you're stalking me on the network (cute most of the time, don't right now), you don't know. And I want your best, worst, and craziest guesses. That will cover your bases. The law enforcement vs. science question has been answered. I feel so much better for knowing I have something to do on Monday. It means I can really kick back and enjoy the holiday off.

I've seen a star spangled man, a star stangled woman, and a star spangled dog. None of them had a plan. The next one better.

I had an interesting conversation, today. You're familiar with the San Diego Comic Con? We were invited to take part in some panels, question and answer sessions, and a signing session. I think it would be interesting to do, really. What do you think? It's July 24-27 -- maybe we can adjust our vacation to accomodate it?

Are you feeling all right? Staying rested and hydrated? Am I seeing right that they're starting the hearings this week?

I took one of the Free Tours by Foot yesterday afternoon and not only had a good long walk, but learned a lot about Harlem. Anyone want to go on the Brooklyn Heights one with me next week?

The inspectors were very polite. Which is certainly better than the last batch of official looking people that showed up at the tower.

I was wondering... Did you want to go out sometime this week? I know tensions are running a bit high this week, so you'll be busy. But I think it might be good to get out of the tower for a little bit.

The death estimates from today's attack are starting to come in. A mad man and his cohorts disappearing off into the ether after killing possibly a dozen people. All to get at Captain America it seems.

So. I have two bottles of wine, popcorn, chocolate, a box of tissues and the remote control handy. Do you think I'll need anything else to watch the Silence of the Lambs movie? I'm also considering watching the movie version of Hannibal and Red Dragon. Just to, you know, catch up on the movie side of things.

I understand that last year, there was incident involving fear gas from comic book villain Scaregrow. I understand that you were not involved in it, but as you're a physician with SHIELD, I wondered if you knew who I could speak with on the toxicology of this compound?

I have a patient currently suffering from a more long-term version of this gas, and I'd like to see if there is a counter to it. And if not a counter, perhaps something to ease the patient's sleep.
