Anyone others just as glad to be any place else but where you come from?
I left a war. I had been on the march for a week solid after seeing my wife shot dead, pursuing Napoleon into Spain, with nowt to look forward to but more of the same.
Now here I am in a house where it is never too cold and never too hot. There are buildings the size of a football pitch filled with fresh food as far as you can see. They have carriages that take men in minutes to places that would take hours to reach by horse or foot. They have cures for diseases that take lives by the thousands.
It is a strange world, but I cannot hate it. No man who has ever starved or frozen or watched one of his men die of a wound they heal in an hour's time here could.
