Now that we've officially decided on it, I thought I should probably tell you that Castle and I are moving. Nothing elaborate, just across the hall to get a little more space. That said, we need some help both in moving out some of our furniture and in replacing the things that are provided by the Tower back into our old place. And, you know, putting the current stuff that we don't need from the new apartment into storage.

Dinner, drinks, and eternal gratitude are provided free of charge.

The World Science Festival has been awesome so far. Gotten to go to panels on physics, genetics, space exploration, and some neuroscience too. (Because obviously I need more areas of interest.)

I'll be making cupcakes later today for Laura's birthday. I'll do my best to make some extra for the house. If we/I leave the kitchen a mess, I'll clean it up tomorrow, promise. And, um, Laura might be staying over again. Nobody minds, right?

These camera phones are quite the convenience, aren't they? When I arrived at Heathrow on Friday morning, I had quite the surprise holding the ubiquitous card with my name on it.

In any case, that photo would not have been possible if I hadn't been sharing a lovely bowl of grapes with the little chap. He shows remarkable perserverence in doing as I do, in this case catching food in his mouth as it falls from the air.

It's nice to have employment again, and I'll be officially starting tomorrow. It's appropriate, as tomorrow is the youth night, so it'll be like jumping into the deepest end of a swimming hole. It's arts and crafts night, too. The younger children will be making Mother's Day cards, and the older ones will have the option of doing that an art project that I know nothing about: tie-dye? In any case, I've got a lot to look forward to. Next week I'll be mining for ideas from everyone -- themes, activities, everything that might be needed at the center. I do think that it would be wonderful to cultivate a library of our own, too.

Mrs. Lynde always guilts her children really badly when she doesn't hear from them every day. As much as I admire Rachel, I really have no wish to be like her, but I do admit that I'm wondering why I haven't heard from my son in several days.

I feel like I'm alone in a city completely full of people. I don't suppose you'd care to join me for dinner?

Okay, that was not the fun kind of coma.

So what did I miss?

I am really not used to having so little to occupy myself. A part of me that sounds awfully like Gilbert is saying to enjoy it, that I've earned it. But the part of me that sounds like Marilla and Rachel Lynde combined is vocally horrified at this idea! So I did a little more in the little garden I'm working on, for the thirteenth floor, and then because today was truly glorious, I explored for a little while. I found myself in Astoria, Queens and then eventually back to Central Park, where I spent a good hour visiting with my chess-playing friends there.

I understand that there is a school attached to Stark Charities, but it is also so late in the term that it would almost be a fool's errand to attempt to create a class this late. But if any of the students would like some extra tutoring in any subject that I might be able to help with, please do ask. If you're not sure if I would know anything about it, ask. And I do plan on looking into taking on a class or two when the new term begins in the fall. Until then -- I might try my hand at the daycare.

So before anyone panics more than usual, I'm not going to be around the house much. Which is probably stating of obvious a bit late since I haven't made an appearance since... last night? Two nights ago? The dark time starting on Tuesday. Does that work?
