So this is what it's like to be a nearly-productive citizen. Feels... odd, let me tell you. Got a bank account opened online, got a possible job lined up (thank you, Will), and I've done some shopping. Got myself set up with one of the blood banks, least til I can make arrangements on my own. Sorry, institutions of this sort give me hives. Had a bad experience with one a while back...

Have to admit, this having things delivered is nice. Makes daylight a bit more useful, I'll tell you that. Blackout curtains are the world's gift to the sunlight-sensitive.

Portals don't usually open up to alternate Earth realities. I'm used to the hell dimensions. This is my punishment, isn't it? Halfrek is An alternate Earth reality where I'm stuck in a tower with everyone I very strongly dislike. Except you, Spike. You're okay to look at.

Of all the silly things you humans do, I still don't get the point of resolutions. Your calendar isn't even all that accurate. The pagans had it closer.

It really does feel like Christmas! Just like old times.

I may or may not have gotten a little over excited while decorating the Magic Box II Widdershins, but at least it's festive and helped me get rid of those extra decorations I went crazy for and bought extra of; I need to stop doing that. Maybe the fake icicles were too much...

Also! Finished decorating the tree in my room; it's small and still very much alive. I think I'll plant it in the spring when the ground softens. I don't think a spruce is going to enjoy being in a pot for very long.

Time for hot chocolate and a little reading to end the day.

I met a man named Mal, he looks like Caleb, and I may or may not have gone to kill him. The important thing is he is not dead.

I may not get up early in the morning for Black Friday... but staying in pajamas, in the comfort of my bed is why I choose Cyber Monday. Though I guess even this year it started a day early.

I think I've ordered enough to warrant giving the postal carriers some cookies when these packages start arriving.

Just a heads up. I found a vampire tonight who'd been bitten and apparently drained of most of his blood. Not sure what happened yet, but it didn't seem like the biting-as-foreplay thing some vamps do. Until we figure out what it was, be careful. I don't want any of us to be the next victim.

Anybody know of a creature that feeds on vampire blood? (Giles, Wes? Did that kind of thing ever come up in the Watchers Diaries?) Or even just a reason someone/something might bite a vampire -- any lead would be great.

Ah November, the crisp air, the changing leaves and the constant business as companies have left over money from the budget and can make improvements. Have hammer, will travel. And of course, if anyone needs work done here - let me know. I'm willing to work with any budget or even trades.

And I know this may be a longshot, but would anyone be interested in a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons game? They've got the books from when I used to play and I figured "Hey, downtime D&D". Let me know. We could meet weekly or bi-weekly, depending on schedules.

Halloweens in Sunnydale were often much more exciting than I thought they'd be, so I'm wondering what a Halloween in New York will bring.

Now that I think I can do this without threatening anyone

Okay, I want to make one thing real clear here.

I know how dangerous Darla can be. Nobody knows that better than I do. And I don't expect anyone to trust her or be happy that she's here. I know she's hurt a lot of you. I get that, and you have every right to feel that way.

But this is my kid's mother. And there's no way in hell I'm letting anyone take her away from him before she's had a shot to prove herself.

You can tell me I'm not looking at things rationally, because of what she means to me and what I've been through with her, but I don't care. We've all made exceptions for other vampires before, both here and back home. She wouldn't be here if SHIELD hadn't decided she was safe. And I'll personally make sure that stays the case.

She isn't going to hurt anyone. She might not be the nicest person you've ever met, but in her defense, it's pretty damn hard showing up here and having your life immediately threatened she's overwhelmed right now. I'm not asking anyone to sympathize with her -- just realize that she has a lot to deal with. It's gonna take time. But I'll keep her out of trouble until then. I'll find a way to make this work, whether that means magic or a chip in her brain or something else. I'll find something. All I'm asking for is the chance.

Darla gave her life for Connor. She's earned that much.

And if she gives any of you a problem, come to me. I want to keep everyone safe here.

Today's spooky, halloween themed sale is rose petals, three dollars a cup.

Hardly the most seasonally appropriate, perhaps, but we came into rather a lot of them this morning. Any unsold will be freeze dried this afternoon, but they've such a brighter essence fresh.

Harris' Handyman and Construction Service has been getting more work lately. I'm surprised but at the same time, grateful. It's nice to have people value hardwork. Although sometimes I think I'm being hired more for my name and to talk about Buffy.

My latest project involves helping to build a haunted house. Which means some simple renovations in an old brownstone. They've already asked me questions about demons, vampires and robots.

If anyone needs work done though for their place, just let me know. If it's something magical in nature, I do have consultants.
