I had a lot of fun at the Speed dating event, so thanks to everyone setting that up. A few people had some questions regarding A.I. so if people want I'm happy to explain it. SAM also has a physical presence, in case people want to meet him in person, and he can answer questions too (and probably better then I can, because supercomputer).

Given that I come from a different time and place than our rather technologically advanced (at least in my view) island, I have been attempting to learn as much as I can about my surroundings, the cuisine especially. I have seen donuts and I have seen hamburgers, but there are some places that offer these two things together, as if a glazed donut is a substitute for actual bread and I don't...understand. That or why some taco shells are made of crunchy orange dust. I assume someone ought to be able to explain. Or argue why any of this would be a good idea.

But it's pleasant to have a purpose, at least - I will be teaching Necromancy at one of the magic schools here, which I'm certain will be a delightful experience. Far better than dealing with politics back home - you've got to have eyes in your front and back, so as to anticipate knives coming from any angle.

SPEED DATING

Or as I like to call it, Booty Camp.

In honor of Beyoncé's glorious entrance into the world, yes, that Beyoncé whom I once met in Mykonos, there will be a speed dating event on September 4th. Hosted by moi, the event will begin at 6:00 PM and will be held at Ásynja Meadery. Food and drinks available for purchase, but try not to get too sloppy or lose your top too early.

There will be a $10 registration fee, and all proceeds go to benefit the Chakrabarti Clinic, because we all have to take care of ourselves and get those pap smears if that applies to you. If you're interested in signing up or signing up someone else who is too shy to sign up but is sitting around sad and lonely, eyeliner flaking off as they listen to Creep by Radiohead, let us know!

Hello all. We've had a few new people join us so I just wanted to do a refresher: I run The Chakrabarti Clinic under the DOA umbrella that's open to both Vallo natives and Outlanders. Outlanders pay nothing to visit the clinic and get checked out. We have doctors, magical healers, and nurses, so please come see us for anything you might be concerned about or even for your regular checkups. All types of people are welcomed - alive, undead, part human, android, fully alien, etc.

In the interest of full disclosure inspired by my friend Liv Moore - I am a zombie three days a month and human the rest of the time. If you have any concerns over being seen by me, there are magical healers that you can see instead.

Also, the clinic's next first aid class is this Saturday at 10 AM. Sex ed will be Sunday 2 PM. All are welcome.

Yes, good. I suppose if I had to choose between 'dreary future where we are all ruled by a Darkspawn with a wee tad bit of megalomania' and 'absolutely not knowing a fucking thing about what's going on,' I would choose the second option.

The introduction is quite thorough, however, so I imagine that I am not the only soul pulled away from slaying tentacle creatures or dealing with the likes of armed supremacist cults. And politics. And warm weather that is essentially drinking bath water every time you breathe.

The name's Dorian and this place just feels utterly bizarre.

I would never dream of doing this back home and I'm still not confident about doing it now, but I'm going to anyway. Vallo isn't anything like home and there's a lot more diversity of people here.

Hi, I'm Liv and I'm a zombie.

It's weird to just put that out in the open. Please don't worry, I won't hurt anyone. Ravi has me connected to a supply of brains which keep me from going full Romero. I keep my nails short so I won't accidentally scratch someone. The last thing I want to do is make anyone else a zombie.

Also, please note that injury, fear, basically anything that spikes adrenaline will cause what I refer to as "full-on zombie mode." I'm still not dangerous then but I will look like the monster I am (red eyes, veiny face, superhuman strength).

So...that's it, I guess.

I almost didn't go to the ball. The fact that I've been here for what feels like all of five minutes without proper attire or really anyone I'd know who would be there, going didn't seem like that great of an idea. I'm glad I did, though, because I forgot just how much I really missed the fun that comes from a good party--we don't get many of them where I'm stationed. Or was stationed? I'm still wrapping my mind around how all of that works.

So thank you to those who worked hard to host it, and also thank you to those who took the time to talk to and/or dance with me. I enjoyed your company for as long as I had it. Also, thank you to Jester for taking the time to find me something appropriate to wear.

All of that being said, I'm now in the business of looking for more ways that this place offers fun. Who has recommendations? Food? Things to do? Places to see? I'm open to trying just about anything once.

I need some fashion advice if anyone here is an expert.
