Heeeey so there was some talk at Galahd's last night about an arrest made on the portal lady?? Anyone have anything official to share, because I'll listen to people over drinks all day but I figure 50% of anything there is added context and rumor.

Time to take the gremlin to get a flower crown in her hair and to touch grass or whatnot. Anyone else headed for the festival? Someone tell me there are giant mugs of witch ale or something. What about those massive pretzels that you need to eat with two hands? Apparently I'm in the mood for oversized refreshments today, don't judge me.

On a related note, should we be keeping an eye on the local covens whilst we're waiting for this legal business to get sorted? Just wondering if I need to be more armed than usual for this little outing.

It occurs to me that we will need a way to contain the portal beast once we manage to find her (or him? I don't suppose anyone knows?).

I have been working on a spell which I think could be effective to use, especially if it's paired with some sort of structure, but I will need a couple more days to work out the details, and as I cannot cast the spell myself, I will need someone with more powerful magic to do so and so I think I will need time to craft the spell to tailor the spell to their magic.

I know we hate these fucking portals, but there better be one because there is not a chance in the hells that both my fiance and sister disappeared right in front of me and it can't be fixed.

Hey everyone. After some conversations with the powers that be outside of the DOA and with the rest of Vallo, I wanted to touch base with our community at large just to compile information. I want us to all be on the same page, but know that there are others out there who have been sleuthing on their own time or just perhaps saw something and didn't make mention. Either way, I wanted to make sure we were all on the same page, but also to have an open forum to discuss any ideas going forward, any theories people might have, additional information that might be floating out there, and answer any questions that people might have. (Please know that I might not have any more answers to said questions than anyone else, but they're still really welcome.)

Are we still looking for the portal guy? Because it just kinda dropped out of the sky from a portal and flew off. The portal isn't there anymore, but just checking that no one suddenly disappeared or anything, because that would be a problem.

EDIT: Witches and wizards and magical folk of Vallo, do you have magical ways to track glitchy, invisible beasts? And ones that can fly. Me and Kratos ??? want to know.

EDIT 2: Anyone who is familiar that sounds so wrong but that's the words that F with the beast, can you come describe it to Fresh Cut Grass?

Alright everyone, stay out of the ocean unless you would like to encounter a very large portal.

Anyone with magic or some sort of technology (I know much about the first, next to nothing about the latter) who would like to be involved, the coordinates are here, please investigate with me. Plan in say, 30 minutes? That is assuming you will bring some sort of refreshment, I am partial to Turkish coffee in case anyone is wanting to get on my good side.

I just went to keep an eye on the portal and caught the tail end of what looked like new arrivals being taken in by the rebels. A big mess of them, not just the usual trickle of one or two.

I didn't see them come through the portal specifically, but 1+1=2 and all that.

It has been a while since I first brought this up, so please forgive me for the tardiness, however: the first meeting of Queer Magic Women has been scheduled. If you fall under that header one way or another and would like to spend some time with us to talk, discuss magic, and maybe show off some of the previous, we will be meeting at Freya's Sanctuary on this upcoming Sunday the 21st at 4PM. Wine and snacks will be provided, but don't hesitate to bring your own or something to share.

Should this take off, we'll look into making it a monthly or so occurrence, depending on what schedules look like.

There is a matter in the covens of which you should be aware. Today the Geliara and Prigany coven meetings were both interrupted by accusations of unethical necromancy. As you will recall, neither coven is typically in the habit of practicing necromancy of any kind.

In both cases, the accusations were made by members of the coven against other members of the coven, but vaguely so; no names were given. There was just enough evidence presented to compel both covens to end their meetings early and begin investigation of the matter.

I must note that it seems suspicious for two unrelated covens to be disrupted with the very same accusation at the very same time. I also cannot help but note that they are two of the covens known to be friendly to Outlanders.

Prigany and Geliara leadership have both assured me that they will notify us of their findings when their investigations are complete. Should you wish to conduct an investigation of your own, I will be happy to facilitate and schedule meetings with the relevant parties in the covens.

Good evening. There is a matter which the Magic Division leadership would like to bring to the attention of the Department at large.

Both covens' leadership have agreed to share the findings of their investigation with the DOA Magic Division. We are currently in the process of scheduling a meeting with them to obtain more details, and the Magic Division will also be making our own inquiries.


* Necromancy in Vallo is generally done only according to a set of regulations intended to prevent its abuse. These regulations were written by the Beketh coven (the coven which is typically the only one to practice necromancy) and agreed to by the other covens many years ago, and there has been no known attempt to circumvent these regulations in recent memory.

** Caralivia Elderwood (Prigany) and Gareth Vasiliev (Geliara). They are both established members of their covens, but not outstanding ones.

Calling all magical folks or those knowledgeable about:

Our team's patrol today spotted something that looks like a teleportation circle in the forest at [location]. Can't say how long it's been there but there are runes near the thing as well as objects that seem to be badly burned. Most of them were not distinguishable from ashes at all but the ones that were are: an apron, a grumpy frog t-shirt, and a mug with cacti on it that says "You Can't Touch This".

I can't get much information out of this but if anyone else wants to step in and take a look, that would help.

I suppose I should officially introduce myself on this Network now that I'm all settled in and have received my requisite hour of incomprehensible Edwin Courcey explanation. Though I suppose neither I nor anyone trying to make some sort of immersive illusion could have managed to make that feel quite so authentic. I swear, he's the only man I know who could make "space-time continuum" and "travelling to an alternate dimension" put me to sleep.

In any case, my name is Violet Debenham. I see we're all very open about ~*~magic~*~ here, so I may as well get it out of the way that I'm a magician, and an actress. And I suppose this might be a nice vacation from real life, at least for a little while even if Edwin said he's been here for nearly two yea

I understand that there is a group that meets here for queer women that use various styles of weaponry. I love this for all of you and fully support the continued existence of such a place to hang out and have camaraderie.

However, I am useless with a weapon. I stabbed at an intellect devourer once and I think that I might have hurt myself more in the effort and only succeeded in tickling it, so I've since given up and rely entirely on my magic. Best for everyone, though apologies if you turn into cats again or, I don't know, summon a cambion. (Do cambions exist in this world? Perhaps we'll get lucky.)

Anyway, all of that to say that I'd like to suggest or create a sister group, if there isn't one already, for queer women that wield magic. I have no doubt that there will be crossover as I have to assume that there are others more skilled than myself that juggle both, but I am still fairly new here and I thought this may be a nice way to meet others and also just have some conversation, possible demonstration, and drinks, if you partake.

If there is interest, please let me know here and I'll organize a time and place and we can discuss the food and drink aspect to go with.

Greetings all, I am sharing on behalf of myself and Wanda (though I would never venture to speak for her, obviously) as your magical representatives for the DOA. The Directrix of Geliara Academy of Witchcraft and Wizardry has requested assistance in first, containing, and secondly, closing, a portal that opened on the grounds of the school. Apparently a conjuration class had a spell go...incorrectly and now there is a portal that they are unable to do anything with.

The second piece to that is that somethings may have escaped. The details on what, exactly, they are, are a bit sketchy, so this may take some time and energy. You can come to the DOA office and read for yourself what the Directrix sent over and if you are so inclined, we can then proceed to the school for closer examination of the portal.

Certainly no one is required to participate but if you do we will most likely have their eternal gratitude and a favor to be called upon later, ho hum, it is very good for relations, and I will purchase the Dashing Doors for lunch. And probably have wine if this goes very late.

This is an official communication on behalf of the Department of Outlander Affairs:

I am dismayed to report that the Amulet of Ashurbanipal, the magical item which allowed him to move between worlds and attack our library, has been stolen from the custody of Prigany Coven. The coven has submitted to outside investigation, and the Vallo police department currently believes that the members of Prigany are victims of a crime, not perpetrators of one.

The amulet is a quite large golden locket, oval-shaped and set with a iridescent green gemstone at its center. It was badly damaged in the fight with the necromancer king, but should it be repaired it will once again be a very powerful magical artifact.

The thief is as yet unknown, and attempts to magically track the location of the amulet have failed. Anyone with information that could lead to the recovery of the amulet and the apprehension of the thief should report that information to the Vallo police department.
