So coming into this place, I've seen a lot of the downsides already. Sorry to everyone that just lost someone, that's pretty awful. I know there are some very obvious upsides to being here, but what are some of people's favorites?

Who is able to fix the maker of coffee?

Next month Vallo will be holding an independent contemporary art festival, from March 24 - 27, called Equinox, to highlight it city's visual art scene. Lardo and I have recently joined the organizational committee, and I'm pretty excited about it.

The festival will be mostly outdoors, but there will be some indoor exhibits as well. It will take you on a walk through Vallo's downtown core, where you can expect to see everything from sidewalk art, ice statues, light shows, aerial performances, music, interactive installations, and more. There are essentially no rules to how the artists work is presented (within reason). You can also expect to find Art Battles for all levels of experience, and food trucks for all your snacking needs.

Applications to participate are open if anyone is interested. You can grab them from the Equinox website, and I've made them available on The Art of Expressions website. You can also Volunteer with the festival if you want to get involved in a different way!

I'm settling in quite nicely even if I feel very strange without certain aspects of home - feeling connected to other elements of nature and especially a river of ice that is the source of your magic, and then not having that connection, is one of those things. But! I found a job with Cerberus Books and it's been interesting so far. I've learned how to make amazing milkshakes?

I suppose my question is for the masses - are there any places to hone one's art skills? I sketch and draw and sometimes paint, so I was hoping to spend one of my first paychecks on art supplies. It seems like a good investment. And in theory if I sketch the landscapes of home, I won't miss it so much. I'd like to teach perhaps too, if anyone has any suggestions.

I have recently heard music by a man called Robert Johnson. I am told it is called "blues guitar." The guitar sounds very much like the guqin, though the vocals are quite different. I would like to listen to more, but not many of his performances are available to hear. Do any of you know of similar musicians I might listen to?

Never say that Thalia Grace won't hold up her end of a bet. I will be performing an interpretive dance outside the DOA building tomorrow at 3pm.

And we will be having a Capture the Flag rematch soon.

I didn't get to post about this earlier, but given the bad weather of yesterday and having to reschedule it, I got a second chance! Enki Coven will be hosting a kite festival on the grounds of MageNet in honor of Uttarayan on the 21st that is open to all. There will be a fair, bonfire, a feast, and, of course, kite fighting (as well as kite flying for those of you that don't want to cut up your fingers). There will be the opportunity to bathe in the Yamuna river (it will be COLD) for those that want to go full in on tradition.

Also with Lunar New Year coming up, Enki Coven will be hosting an open event on the grounds of MageNet on the 1st of February. There will be traditional foods offered from various traditions (dumplings, Buddha's Delight, mandarin oranges to name a few!) and we will be lighting a moon house on fire. You will have the opportunity to add wishes to it before the lighting ceremony!

Prayer sessions will be held earlier in the day during both events, that people are welcome to join or witness.

My last performance was last night and I am officially on vacation for a week before I head back to the center.

I'm sad I missed the first Capture The Flag game I could have actually not been terrified to play in. I heard the Romans were victorious! Sorry, T! ❤ Next time.
