Hey guess what, I'm going to throw a party if you want to help.

Having to explain one's resume in a job interview when you have had only one set of duties your entire adult life and it doesn't really translate easily to this sort of setting? Awkward, yet somehow also easier than one might have expected. I like to think it's my natural charm, more than anything else. (It's hereditary.) (Not magical, though I understand clarifying that unprompted makes it seem as though the opposite might be true. Let's move on from this before I get myself into unwarranted trouble.)

That said, I am now gainfully employed and will be found at the Great Library, where I was spending much of my time at already. It seemed only right.

And rather exciting? As I said, only one job for my adult life and this is going to be quite different than training to run a city, so! I don't start until next week, but come and see me and make me work, please and thank you.

Based on the fact I woke up in a tree and my pockets are filled with what I can only assume are stolen trinkets from various folks around Vallo, I likewise have to assume that I was not myself as of recent. Well, still myself, just—young. My father was/is a dick and I took it out on the pockets of elves that were/are dicks.

Not that any of you are dick elves, of course. Old habits just die hard and I probably thought I was being funny and clever. Which, I mean. It is kind of funny.

Anyway, as is tradition. If you're missing anything small and pickpocket-able, let me know. I probably have it.

On a related note: Gilmore, will you still marry me on Saturday if I return, let's see... three rings, a bangle, and one earring to you?

FRIENDS + FAMILY OF VAX & GILMORE (feel free to assume)

Good morning. I'm typing this alongside coffee, so no judgements will be permitted on what I manage to string together.

Shaun and I would like to ask all of you (and a plus one, if your plus one isn't already included here) to join us at our home at 5PM on October 5 to watch us get married. You're all our nearest and dearest and it would be an honor if you'd join us in celebrating something that we've been waiting for the most right moment to do—the most right moment being 5PM on October 5.

Dinner, drinks, and frivolity will follow, obviously. Gifts are not necessary, as your presence is literally all we could ask for. And be comfortable. I'm not wearing a tie, so I expect no one else to do it on my behalf.

Anyway, in conclusion: we love you all and we hope to see you there.

Alright, I get that we're more or less embroiled in spooky season, but these scarecrows have got to go. I just had to dispatch four of them while walking from my temple back to the house and that seems like three too many. If I'm going to get sliced up by a creepy scarecrow, it could at least give me a cool scar that I can talk about later on.

And I know that crows and ravens are different birds, but it feels a little personal at this point.

Anyway, Vex'ahlia, your dragon is now an accomplished scarecrow killer.

Once again, I would like to issue apologies to the person that I may have taken too close of aim at upon my arrival. I'm normally an ask questions first sort of woman, but—well. I think we can all agree that arriving here in the middle of a forest when you had just been enjoying a lovely breakfast is quite the shock, yes? Perhaps?

I was so delighted by being around my brother (Vax'ildan, it's alright if you didn't notice, I am the far more attractive twin and now I have several years on him) that I never made a proper introduction. I am Lady Vex'ahlia de Rolo, but Vex will do! We're all friends here, I think? At the very least we should share embarrassing stories of Vax - I will tell you of him as a child if you all tell me idiotic things he's done here.

My youngest daughter is with me, so if anyone has any suggestions for schooling and clothing for a young girl, age 8, I would appreciate it. In that same vein, I will be looking for a job - I have been on the Tal'Dorei Council as the Master of Commerce (I prefer Coinmistress, it has a nicer ring to it) for over a decade now, finances are my bread and butter.

XHORHAUS INHABITANTS (PERMANENT AND VISITING) + OTHER EXANDRIANS

There are a lot of us here right now and I think that calls for togetherness. I don't make the rules.

I want to suggest we eat at Taste of Tal'Dorei and then run around the damn theme park, but I also recognize that's pretty on brand, so I will take other suggestions. Except now I want that disgusting chicken sorbet and the not disgusting pie flight, so I might argue suggestions.

How are you both doing?

Hi everyone, my name is Keyleth. I'm here at the DOA with Vax and he's showing me how to use this. It's pretty neat, I wish I had one of these at home. It's very convenient. I don't know what else to write just yet, but... your city is beautiful? The looks, the smells, the design. It's all so nice.

Point of note: don't get eaten by a plant.

Second note: don't tell your littlest sister that your having been eaten by a plant is why she beat you at Birthday Laser Tag Shenanigans, because she will absolutely call you on your shit and roast you. Multiple times and rightfully so, certainly but also. I was eaten by a plant yesterday.

Gods, twelve. How did that happen? How is she going to be a teenager next year? This doesn't compute in my mind.

I would not call myself a botanical expert, however I think the source of the latest plant debacle is at the Quarry. The entire place is a bit...taken over. If anyone feels so inclined, it may behoove us to examine the caves.

Despite popular opinion, I can read. While this isn't near as fun as talking shit in person, I guess it's pretty useful for talking to people who aren't in your face. Which, your loss. Looks and talking are probably 95% of my charisma, so I kinda fucking hate it.

But whatever, I'm nothing if not easy. Let's keep this simple. Call me Gideon. Or Nav. Apparently I've been here before, but it won't be the first time I've had to understand complicated fuckery.
