I'm afraid that Temeraire was injured terribly quite severely rather badly last night while protecting the Covert. As such, we'll be remaining at the covert for the time being.

It's difficult to believe that I've now been in Vallo for an entire year now. I am always surprised at just how much can change in a year, especially when back home I'd often spend six months or more simply at sea. I cannot imagine being anywhere else than here, though, especially since Temeraire has joined me. I hope I'll have many more years here in Vallo, with the life I have built with Lan Huan, and easy access to hot showers whenever I might want one.

Heads up, there is a demon from my world running around Vallo at the moment. His name is Mallus (malice), and he's a primordial time demon. I don't know if any of his worshipers are here with him, of if he'll try to gain more here. Be on the look out for anyone with large black veins running all over their face. It's a solid indicator they're being possessed.

The totems from home are the only thing that can take him out in my world, so if you're carrying one, avoid going near him with it. He will try and take them and you if you get in the way.

He's sadistic, cruel, vengeful, manipulative. Standard demonic personalities, I guess, with a wide range of powers. Avoid at all costs.

I found a shiny thing in the forest earlier, felt like a good luck omen, next thing you know there's a half dozen Yanjingi warriors, which is very much not good luck... Anyway, I think I.... set them on fire? They went up pretty quick, so I'm not too torn up about it and not entirely convinced they were real, but I did that how, exactly? My money's on the shiny thing.
