It seems like you blink and half the year is gone, despite the number of ups and downs we've faced as a community. Those very challenges bring us closer together, though, and you may look beside you and smile at people you would have never known had you not arrived in this place. I've only been here around eight months and I've both made some amazing new friendships and experienced things I would've thought were restricted to stories. I like it here and I'll be honest - if it's true that I won't remember Vallo if or when I leave, that makes me a little bit sad. Maybe it's a good reminder that we act on things while we can.

I need a job!

Or maybe I don't NEED a job because I have awesome friends who can provide and a cat who is pretty chill and easy to take care of but I don't want to be a mooch so there's that. Eliot suggested potential politics too but I think acting High king was more than enough politics for me. Plus I don't know much about this place.

Anyway, my skill set is mostly knife-making, although I can also train other people to make knives. Or throw knives, but I think there's plenty of those here already. I also can probably sell the daggers off my tree somewhere if anyone is willing to let me? They're not magical themselves, per se. They just grew on the tree.

I keep waffling between being mad about the dragon apparently being dead, and mad that the asshole took me out, and even madder that it wouldn't just get the hint and go somewhere else away from the villages so that it didn't have to die to begin with.

I'm glad that no one's tried to shoot me down every time I've been a dragon in Vallo, though I suppose much of that credit should go to me not, you know, trying to kill off a whole village. Not that I'll be flapping my wings anytime soon because fucking ow.

Saints, what an absolute waste of such a beautiful and ferocious creature.

I'm going to say our best bet is having them take us with them tomorrow. I somehow doubt if they leave us behind there'd be much in the way of boats left to get off this island. Whatever battle they're expecting should give us cover to make a run for it. Unless anyone else had any bright ideas?

I'm quite chuffed about it so I don't expect it to last long but I've already been recording some interesting observations. My eyes appear to be painted on and yet I am able to see perfectly fine. That and speech seem to be the only organ functions being replicated. I'm otherwise solid clay all the way through. Articulation of movement is poor but possible with some effort.

Very thankful for speech-to-text.

Info for any newcomers or people who just weren't aware, but - the Chakrabarti Clinic offers free first aid and sex ed classes on a monthly basis. Are there any other classes people might like to see? Some possibilities and ideas - healthy eating, stress management (don't everyone sign up all at once for that one now), smoking cessation, etc? I'm open to ideas. Somehow I also managed to collect some lucid dreaming students - teaching people how to lucid dream, that is - but I have space for more if anyone wants to learn this technique to improve sleep and put a stop to nightmares.

We're here for not only Outlanders but locals too, and we've been staying consistently busy (though we always get a spike when people decide to be Big Damn Heroes). At the clinic we have a mix of those who approach medicine in a more scientific way, and those who approach it magically - the hospitals are the same way, for the most part.

I've also been seeing some talk of the Wednesday meetings re: death and dying, so, yes. I'm Dan and I run those, Wednesdays at 8 at the DOA building. The hour before that is AA for those who are new and may be interested.

I guess that's enough 'helpful' advice from me. And now I have to go drop my cat off at 'work' because she gets mad and pisses in the clean laundry if she can't do her job.

I don't even know how to say this but I don't want anyone to get hurt, so - please just be careful, if you hike in the cliffs or use the waypoints. A very big, very primordial evil showed up here - it's called the Overlook Hotel, and it's from my world. I destroyed it once by rigging the boiler to blow and died with it but it seems a little hardier this time, unfortunately.
