One thing that I will almost always find comfortingly similar between my world and this one is how quickly life just goes back to normal after something out of the ordinary happens. Though, perhaps that is just my perception and "out of the ordinary" is just ordinary. Who is to say.

Regardless, it's a bit of normalcy that I would not have expected, but have definitely gotten used to in all the time I've been here in Vallo.

Listen up losers. With the race coming up it's occurred to me some of you are PAINFULLY BAD at trash talk. None of this "your car is a muted color of blue that does not suit you". NO. You gotta go for the JUGULAR. You gotta stab them in the GUT with WORDS. You gotta make them feel it, it's personal. It's raw. It's an art.

Learn your opponent. Pick on your friends. Don't just grab some random guy who just learned to drive and hasn't said shit to you and make fun of him, you're just being a dick. Focus on the race and the car and your opponents clear lack of skills. Or their face, if you get desperate. Oh also don't pull out the "your mom" trash talk, you know how much trauma all you idiots have? So much. You're gonna make somebody get all "but my mom is terrible and disowned me when I was twelve" and then you'll feel like the world's biggest prick. DO talk about how great you are in comparison to the other guy, but like, in a cool way.

Hello, Vallo!

I've arrived in your land seeking adventure! Upon my arrival I was assured repeatedly that there is no way home to Elmville or Solace or really anywhere in Spyre and so I suppose I should introduce myself and settle in until that can be worked out.

I am Fabian Seacaster, son of Bill Seacaster, a name which might mean nothing here but rest assured, he was the most fearsome pirate to have ever sailed the Celestine Sea. I am not a pirate, but I do have his taste for adventure and I hope that I may find a way to make a name for myself here.

From what I've seen this land is not unlike my own and this device not dissimilar to the crystals we use to communicate. I'll admit, it may even be more advanced and convenient. Now, where's the best ice cream shop?

I thought I was super clever with Adaine's 'more gray than Gandalf and twice as magic' shirt, but then I had to explain it to her and poor Adaine suffered through ~38 minutes of a lecture, dating back to when he was called Olórin, the wisest of the Maiar (with the exception of Melian, although there's debate about that, I have Thoughts).

Which, I mean, was very obviously a hardship for me and I did not enjoy it at all.

So anyway, I offered to intro Adaine to all things Tolkien, so, viewing at our apartment (shut up Tommy, there will be snacks) tonight, we'll start with Fellowship of the Rings and move on from there, I will NOT make people watch the extended editions.

Unless there's a great demand, in which case, absolutely the extended editions.

The heart could be persuaded to also do an intro to Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galatica, Game of Thrones, or really, any other epic fantasy/sci fi movies/tv shows that you've always wanted to know about but have been too afraid to ask.

Also, our D&D group is always open for newbies. Info here. We have a great group of players, some who have played, some who were new, and everyone's learning together. Come join, it's good stuff. And dice are amazing, I've been using these and have only poked myself...five times so far.

Hello, Zuko he. I've done most of the prep work so my first announcement is that next month I plan to re-open my Uncle's tea shop - but since there's already several good tea shops out there and I'm not great at making t, this place is going in a different direction.

It's being rebranded as an ice cream and boba shop. I haven't settled on a name yet. And I need to hire people who know ice cream and boba to help out, if anyone's looking for work. The building work has been largely completed, so the hard part is over. Who knew cooling systems cost so much?

2. I can't believe I have to clarify this but I am in no way related to anyone in this cat-people tavern in the forest. I don't know why I've gained VIP status there. I also don't know why sometimes they also think I work there. I don't. I really don't. I've explained this so many times but no one listens and I keep going there anyway because the food's good, 10/10.

More open magic. No one here is trying to kill me or make me do things I don't want to do. But I miss traveling. Like really traveling to different countries and getting to try new foods, see new things, all that exploring. I can do that in other ways here but its not the same as going to places that I've been dreaming about since I was five?

So what do you guys miss that isn't people? I think we all miss people that aren't here. But things that are less likely to randomly show up here.

I don't really know how to preface this without it sounding like bragging. So I guess that's okay. But I have a dragon of my very own. Or really he's his own but we have a mutual understanding and he seems to really only like me, so I'll take it. I've been calling him Druk, which means Lightning Dragon. He still has some growing to do before he can carry more than just me, but if anyone wants to meet him then feel free to come by the Preserve. He's not overly fond of the more aggressive dragons so I'll need to give him something more proper soon, but it's a decent space for now.

Aang, do you remember that golden egg gem we found at the Sun Warrior temple? I think that was him. When I met him, I felt that same... sensation that I had when I picked up what we thought was a glowing gem. He's from home!
