Good morning, everyone. I know we've all been feeling tense as we wait for word from our volunteers who went through the portal. I know that brings with it an inherent feeling of helplessness; I'm sorry there isn't more we can do on that end at the moment. However, we do have news.

The DOA received a call from the Vallo Police Department early this morning. Late last night, Dahlia Argent, of Beketh coven, turned herself in as a party in the portal beasts incident back in November. Along with our people, her sister, Luciana, was taken by the portal, as well as some Vallo residents - the exact number is currently being investigated. DOA leadership was invited to come speak with Ms. Argent, and we've learned the following:

A group of Vallo natives have been working on ways to open a portal to send Outlanders either back to their world or out of Vallo permanently. The teleportation circle found by Sam Wilson in December, as well as a portal that opened on Geliara Academy's grounds and the theft of the Ashurbanipal amulet in November were all early, failed attempts at targeting Outlanders. The November 10th incident with the portal beasts was the closest they've come to success, but they didn't have the correct knowledge to close the portals without threatening the rest of Vallo.

This group has been using the teachings and research of the Guide of Existence, also known as Bronislavas of Beketh, whose body is on display in the Vallo Museum of Natural Magicks. They've made attempts to resurrect him for his assistance - if you remember, the museum was broken into back in August and that particular exhibit was temporarily closed; this was an attempt to take one of Bronislavas' bones for the resurrection process. This plan also failed.

After discussions with VPD and Beketh, they've agreed to let Outlanders take matters into our own hands. We've been granted permission to resurrect Bronislavas and, hopefully, both get more answers on this portal and his assistance in bringing the missing back home. If any of our community have the appropriate skills for this task, please let us know here, and the DOA will facilitate any way we can.

So, what a day, right?

First off, food is out in the mess hall, please grab a bite to eat if you haven't yet. If you haven't been shown to a room let me know and I'll get you set up. If you need blankets or anything chime in, we'll get your sorted. We ask if you're going to get cleaned up to keep showers short. We have extra toothbrushes and other toiletries if anyone needs anything.

Onto the rest of it.

Yes, we are missing people. Yes, those are some of the people you were expecting to find. The list is as follows:

All have been missing for a few weeks. Yes, we have tried to get them back. For those who haven't had that conversation yet there's a few reasons it hasn't happened. The Council is strong, outguns us with heavy magic users, any violence also spawns echoes. The harder we fight the stronger they get. They take the form of those fighting, including skills and magic as they get stronger.

Because it seems like some of you maybe know other versions, or whatever we want to call this, of those we know as the Council here's the list of known Council members:

It can not be stressed enough that whatever you think you may know of these people they are not good news. At all. This is also just a list of those we know about. If you happen to run into someone you recognize outside of us you must make sure they are who you think they are. Assume nothing.

You want to stage a rescue and we get it, trust us, we more than get it. It needs to be planned though. So if that is something you are itching to do we will meet tomorrow, 7 am sharp in the mess hall, to go over strategy and how this might be doable with the extra numbers we now have.

It was also mentioned that a line of communication between this Vallo and the other Vallo is desired. None of us can guarantee that working, but we're willing to try if we can do it safely. Meet at 9 am, mess hall, if you have ideas on how to make that happen.

In the meantime, get some food, try to get some sleep. We'll start fresh in the morning. If you need anything ask.

REVENANTS

I just went to keep an eye on the portal and caught the tail end of what looked like new arrivals being taken in by the rebels. A big mess of them, not just the usual trickle of one or two.

I didn't see them come through the portal specifically, but 1+1=2 and all that.

Okay this was all a lot today, but now that our [...] guests have been given the rundown, you all have your devices, we can answer some of your questions. I think we're all adjusting, so just bear with us. For some of us, it's been a long time since we've seen you. In some instances, if ever.

I'm also going to reiterate, please don't leave our location without bringing one of us with you. This isn't the Vallo you know and what we're dealing with is pretty shitty, so until we can figure out a larger plan, staying put is going to be safest. It's not just the Echoes. It's the people you think you know.

Uh, this is Leon Kennedy reporting in from [location]. I, uh, is everyone ok? Did anyone at base also suddenly get a headache out of nowhere that could be classified as the worst migraine they've ever had?

I also swear I saw some kind of beast come tearing out of a portal downtown. I couldn't see it for very long though, granted, I was on the ground when it flew over head.

Has anyone else reported in?

I don't want you to even feel as those there is one single, solitary question, of course I will watch Kiri. Nothing will so much as look at her without my say so, I swear that to you.

You have my blessing to go, my love. I would never keep you from protecting your family, and I would never hold it against you for doing so. The children will be safe with me.

We have over 30 missing Outlanders so far and more names are still coming in. The portal they went through is still open, and now protected by a barrier so we don't lose track of anyone else for now, but it does seem to be a working portal, but we cannot guarantee that it is a two-way street, given our friends and family have not stepped back through yet we have to assume the way may be blocked on their side.

We still plan to launch a rescue mission, but the group going through also needs to be aware of the risks and be able and willing to set up communications in the event that a return trip won't be immediate.

The DOA is going to be confirming the list of those missing so we have exact names and numbers, and studying the portal to ensure it's safe to travel through.

The current plan is that tomorrow we'll send a group through, if you wish to sign up to be on the rescue mission, put your name here and be at the DOA offices in the morning for a full briefing. Pack ONE bag, no larger than what you can carry and run with, and bring your weapons of choice.

Hey, anyone else in the city see that? I'm at the bookstore and was talking to Caleb and saw what looked like some massive creature just disappear through a portal, I think? It's hard to see through the buildings, but there's something going on and--



And is anyone else suddenly missing?? Because Caleb and Frumpkin were right here and now they're both gone.

Hello to all of my most special children!!! I want to remind all of you that you are precious creations who must nurture your bodies AND your minds AND your souls so please attend Tommy's yoga and meditation class today. You will feel refreshed and instantly calmer, and I can say I have never been more limber or felt at greater peace!

I know we are facing adversity and hardship. The days are long and stretch on. My angels, I hope you know that you can always come to me and I will listen, I feel your pain as my own. But if you cannot (or if I am out hunting animals to eat, that in and of itself PAINS me to do and yet I must in order to survive and be amongst my loves!!!!!) please, find someone to speak to. We are all in this together!!!!

Now, please, share your announcements, news, something you are struggling with, or something that you want to celebrate about your other community members. Me, although I do not like to single any of you out, Daud is as always on top of his information game and only needed reminding three times to stay hydrated yesterday!!!
