You'd think I'd be helpful in this particular situation, but whatever magic it is making the plants affect people, it doesn't react to mine at all. Maybe just don't touch anything growing out of the ground for a while? And I'd steer clear of Sutton Cottage until it's over, considering the abundance of roses we've got. I'll be taking my own advice; If I get stuck in a true-love's-kiss situation I'm really in trouble.

If anyone notices a heavier amount of greenery and flora around the clinic, don't mind me... I may suddenly be having the time of my life with what I guess is some kind of temporary power? I'm growing plants. Yes, there are a lot of lilies, and that's because I really like lillies.

This is an AMAZING feeling! I knew someone back in my world who had this kind of power. Only difference was that she was kind of.. a villain.

Oh my! What an experience! I can't say that I would ever choose to switch places with my child self. But now at least I can say that I have some happy memories where there weren't many before. Thank you everyone who took the time to watch out for the younger versions of us all!

If it's any consolation he's made a wreck of my clothes and my shakkan's in the worst shape it's been in in about eight years. Hello, Vallo. I require your assistance. I've lost my roommate, or more specifically, the tiny version of my roommate. Somewhere out there is a very young Stiles Stilinski who is probably absolutely baffled how the girl he has crushed on since kindergarten has been his roommate in their late teen years.

uh I just wanted to say thanks. For coming to the barns and being nice. We can't have people over at home. It always makes me sad mad wish things were different. Didn't expect to wander into an alternate (different?) dimension when I woke up the other day. Then again at this point I should probably expect the unexpected.

At least I'm not the only one here whose done that - at least that's what they've told me. So, I guess, this is my attempt to say hello to my fellow Outlanders I hope that's the right word. My name is Leon, I'll be serving on the Defense Team, as soon as I get my assignment. By what I've been told, that should be interesting. To my fellow Defense Team members, any advice you can throw my way?

Okay so maybe these are really obviously and dumb questions, but how do people pick majors? How do you decide what you want to do with the rest of your life? And how do you do that here? With all the inpredictability, how do you figure that out in Vallo? How do you plan for that?

Kind of related, is anyone hiring? I think maybe a gap summer or something might help. Or it won't. Maybe I'm just destined to be Maybe. Why does no one tell you being an adult is so hard? Or am I just really bad at everything? Can't con Can't hurt, right?

There is a Mare (also known as mara, mahr, mahrt, mårt, trud, drute, night hag - to name a few) loose in Vallo. They are evil spirits that ride on the chest of sleeping people, bestow nightmares, then feed from the fear it elicits - it is not my doing, in this case.

Back home, I am in charge of nightmares and demons on this level, but we maintain a balance that does not include the overuse of power, and we do not harm mortals that dream. She has been steadily gaining power that she's drawn on her victims thus far and it does not look as if she will stop anytime soon. I can help protect those that sleep, but my reach does not extend far past that.

It is not as simple as hunting spirits in the forest. She may need to be lured, or caught in the act. Suggestions are welcome.

Not huge news in the grand scheme of things that happen here, but I'm going to start teaching a couple of classes at the Art of Expression. I will be teaching the art of miniature trees - which at home we call shakkans but here most people refer to as bonsai. There'll be options of magic and non-magic users. Those with magic can learn how to store power in trees they grow and shape to that purpose (success not guaranteed, since I don't know how everyone's magic works, but the option is there if you want to try!) Others can learn to use the shakkan's inherent magic to bring fertility, prosperity or health to their home.

So if you're interested, please come and give it a try!

Also it's practically spring already. Time to start planning summer gardens!

I've sort of been surprised before about just how long I've been here, so I'll skip that part of this post and instead focus on how in that time I've met way more people than I would have ever expected. I spent a number of years traveling on my own before a bunch of wild adventurers shook up my life, so maybe I should be used to that. The difference between that and here, though, is how we're all from such varied, different places. Back home we were a scattered group across continents, but here in Vallo it's worlds.

I know this isn't news to literally anyone here, but it just had me thinking and I wanted to ask: what's your original home like, wherever you were before you were here? From those I've talked to, it's been a real variety with some having similar to Vallo itself, others from places with no magic, some in space. So, if you're so inclined, tell me about it.

Oh and I should add that the last thing I want is for anyone to get too overwhelmed or bummed with homesickness, so don't feel like you need to answer this if it'll be too much. I'm curious and want to get to know folks, but not so much that I want anyone to feel bad.

All right, I've slept on it and that race was a lot of fun. (In fairness, I thought it was a lot of fun yesterday too, but now it's a for sure thing.)

Now that it's over, though, I feel like I want to actually learn how to drive. Not that dodging vines, a massive dinosaur, lightning, and gravity aren't all a great way to have a first go at it, but it feels like it might be a good skill to have? Outside of those kind of unique circumstances. At least, I'm assuming they're unique and that's not just how things are for people with cars.

Also, just want to recognize mine and Chet's really great pit crew, because they did a good job. Sorry all that pit prep and research was for nothing.
