So if I wanted to convince the Great Library to let me paint a mural inside of it, who would I need to talk to? Or is that just like a don't even bother situation? I'm not rich enough to bribe anyone. I'm just curious.

I am just making note of this as I realize it, looking over the data from the last handful of days, as I think it may end up being important for both sides of the portals: but, speaking of the portals, it appears that there is some sort of pattern in how they are appearing and disappearing around the surface. If that's the case, it would make it easier for us to coordinate once this containment unit is completed on our end and when you in the other Vallo are able to get hold of the creature.

That being said, if I could get someone with an eye for such details to check my work, I would appreciate it.

I also wouldn't say no to a mint lavender matcha latte and a cheese danish from that place I like, if someone married to me would be so kind.

Also, on our end, I've been told that it's just more angry vegetation coming through the portals. The portals also are moving around the island. But if you're dealing with plants much like these over there, just wondering if people are still captured and all of that.

Did anyone else make it through? Is anyone else in the middle of the forest? There's a group of us here, but we're still trying to figure out where exactly we are.

I know we hate these fucking portals, but there better be one because there is not a chance in the hells that both my fiance and sister disappeared right in front of me and it can't be fixed.

Are we still looking for the portal guy? Because it just kinda dropped out of the sky from a portal and flew off. The portal isn't there anymore, but just checking that no one suddenly disappeared or anything, because that would be a problem.

EDIT: Witches and wizards and magical folk of Vallo, do you have magical ways to track glitchy, invisible beasts? And ones that can fly. Me and Kratos ??? want to know.

Hello, this is Orym of the Air Asha Beketh Squadron, Communications. I know that there is a lot going on around the ship and everything is confusing and bad, but there might be a bit of good news for you new folks.

With our comms back up, we almost immediately received a signal that was first theorized and then confirmed to be coming from your side of things. It's gotten stronger as we've drifted closer to the proximity of the assumed portal. Long story short, I've been told that they should be able to see this and you lot should be able to communicate with one another now.

So uh if anyone not currently on the V.A.L.L.O. could confirm that, that would be super helpful. I'm sure your people will be relieved to hear from you.

Alright everyone, stay out of the ocean unless you would like to encounter a very large portal.

Anyone with magic or some sort of technology (I know much about the first, next to nothing about the latter) who would like to be involved, the coordinates are here, please investigate with me. I understand there have been happenings this week, but I ask forgiveness as I talk about myself as today marks the end of my first week as a teacher of music, a sentence that I would have never imagined saying at almost any point in my life. As unexpected a change of pace, though, it's a real good one. It was a rewarding week and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes moving forward.

Though, for the record: if any of your young ones come home with songs that might easily get stuck in your head, I apologize in advance.

I can't pretend to understand the mechanics of what brought me to Vallo, but your holiday traditions were diverting, at least. From what I understand, the point now is to get through the winter until the thaw. Are there any more upcoming holidays that I should be aware of?

Kit and I went into the sewers that I saw in my portal, we've been in it before and it's just been sewers but now it has a secret base or room. It was not there before, just a week ago.

It's been abandoned. But there's a door that may be barred or locked, Kit wanted me to call in backup before I opened it. I couldn't hear anything on the other side with my runes.

If anyone would like to come investigate, meet me outside the DOA office in approximately 15 minutes. Bring light sources, thank you.

I have been here a few days despite not introducing myself here, but I don't think I can be blamed. My daughter has been the best distraction and I've been trying to make up for a month away in the few days I've had. The jury is still out if I've succeeded, but I'm perfectly content to continue trying either way.

I'm James Carstairs, though everyone calls me Jem. My family has all been here, some for a while and one for a while, and I'm sure they're all acquainted with some of you already, so hello and thank you for being kind and welcoming to Tessa, Mina, and Kit. And Will, of course, though I know we're both guilty of being recent arrivals.

That said, I'm sure that I have plenty of time to go before I can call myself settled, but I'm wondering: for those who have been here a long while--or those who haven't, I'm not picky--what would you personally say are some of the first things you should do or see here? I'm lucky to have had several from home who could point me in some directions, but I'm curious about opinions beyond my people.

I have overused the indoor plumbing options in this flat, learned how to use the elevator by myself, and located where to make the letters capitals on this little phone thing. A feat, truly.

Tessa has shown me what a Kindle is but I have to admit I appreciate the physical heft of books. She has also given me her list of bodice rippers and I do trust her taste in reading material. Does anyone else have any recommendations? Bodices being ripped is not a necessary requirement, but I will judge you accordingly on a scale that is predetermined by me, and unbeknownst to you.

While I am wholly uninterested in Christmas's religious significance, I understand that it is considered aesthetically pleasing. My cursory research indicated no unifying vision for the holiday so much as sub-genres with its own zealots: from natural winter greenery (pleasing, but messy) to something unseemly referred to as 'kitsch' (horrifying).

So. I have less than three weeks to decorate a very large home. I would appreciate your leaving holiday themes, motifs, relevant figures of importance, and suggestions for what makes decorations "feel like" the season to you. I anticipate some of you to have very little taste. I also have learned about the bane of man colloquially referred to as 'glitter', and am aware of its neverending curse. Do not try me.

I am leaning toward sage green and burnished silver as colors. Elegant yet understated, cozy but refined. Thank you for your assistance.
