I may not know who any of you fucking bingbongs are or why I'm on a fucking train like a goddamn engineer named Wilberforce or some shit but I do know if you come for this baby I will rain down an unholy fucking terror the likes of which you will never see again. Because you'll be dead.

Just throwing out a big thank you to everyone that made it down to the party last night. We raised a pretty outstanding amount of money through all of your donations and I just feel that it's going to be a really great year of programs and additions to the center and it's going to benefit the kids so much.

I'm just really grateful to be part of such a cool community. So, again: thank you.

I also hope that the hangovers out there are at a minimum? Open bars continue to be fun, but dangerous. I'd suggest drinking more to counteract it, but I'm growing responsible in my old age.

Tairn and I were out in the forest and a giant horned creature rose up from under a downed tree and tried to attack. Which-- was stupid of it, because it tried to attack Tairn and Sgaeyl showed up out of nowhere and ripped its head clean off.

So, uh. Please be wary of these things (and also sorry for the blood I couldn't get a picture BEFORE its head was gone): [Attached picture of a Deathclaw but pretend it's head is next to it just like, gone.]

Tairn has been away from Sgaeyl for months now and still waited until Andarna showed up before leaving me to go-- whatever! So I guess don't expect to see him for a while if you're looking to the skies, dragons in our world can't handle being away from their mates for weeks let alone this long. He'll probably be less cranky now.

In case you haven't seen, we're hoping lightning will strike twice after last year's success with our adult prom fundraiser at the Youth Center and we're going for it once more. I still only half understand school dances and prom things, but it's an event that means I get to see my better half somehow even more glorious and dapper than usual, so it's a win-win-win, I guess.

Anyway, theme this time around is Casino Nights, so if you are free on May 11, 18+ and a high school grad, and want to dress fancy and gamble, think about having fun for a good cause. The last casino I was in was in Marquet and some of my party got kicked out, so maybe let's try to be less raucous than I guess Keyleth managed to be. We were young.

You can get tickets ahead of time at the Youth Center or for a bit more at the door, but that will give you food and an open bar. (Open bar might not lend well to the "less raucous" thing, in retrospect. Too late now.) It'll be taking place at the Rutherford Hotel again and there's a discounted rate for attendees, if you want to make a weekend of it.

A coworker wouldn't stop going on about it yesterday while I was trying to eat lunch and I'm half convinced they were being paid for advertising and the crowd was hard to miss when I was walking to get into work this morning.

Things I've learned this past week:

1. There's a reason that Vex was always the one that took the lead in the woods and why I took the lead when we were in cities. Nature is grand and beautiful, but fucking hell I was not made for it and never will be made for it, at least not for extended periods. Velora is already asking about a weekend camping trip and I can't tell if she's giving me a hard time or actually wants to go.

2. Squirrels are total gossips. Genuinely, I feel the need to check in with the ones that live around the house, just to see what is going on.

3. My bear of a nephew is a pretty good thief, if he's stealing from you while you're exhausted from walking around a forest that wants to kill you at every turn.

4. Despite roughing it in a mountain, my fiance was still as radiant as ever, which I think should come to no one's surprise. I did not fare as well and I swear that I am still picking twigs and leaves out of my hair.

5. Can we be done now? This is not a lesson learned, just a plea.

Darlings, we spotted the portal creature in that meadow on the southeastern side, closish to the pond. It was resting, poor thing, but didn't stay that way all that long before an arboreal animosity made a most auspicious entrance and it flew off.

Does anyone have eyes on it?

Also, on our end, I've been told that it's just more angry vegetation coming through the portals. The portals also are moving around the island. But if you're dealing with plants much like these over there, just wondering if people are still captured and all of that.

Hello, this is Orym of the Air Asha Beketh Squadron, Communications. I know that there is a lot going on around the ship and everything is confusing and bad, but there might be a bit of good news for you new folks.

With our comms back up, we almost immediately received a signal that was first theorized and then confirmed to be coming from your side of things. It's gotten stronger as we've drifted closer to the proximity of the assumed portal. Long story short, I've been told that they should be able to see this and you lot should be able to communicate with one another now.

So uh if anyone not currently on the V.A.L.L.O. could confirm that, that would be super helpful. I'm sure your people will be relieved to hear from you.

I know you've all heard the announcement of Daud's passing by now. I was the unlucky one to find him; I've seen a lot of death, but this might be one of the toughest ones yet. "Dad" was the best of the best, and so many of us wouldn't have been half the pilots we are without him
