Today was an exciting fun weird an interesting day. I've not worked in customer service for very long, but long enough to deal with a few rather unpleasant people. People that you have to be nice to if you want them to come back (why you would want them to I still don't understand).

But today! Today Wanda did what I have wanted to do a couple of times and told off the entire lot!

Though it got the point across, a few of our regulars didn't seem to like it. To those regulars, the ones that are actually nice, I apologize. I'm sure what was said wasn't meant for you. (pretty sure, anyway...)

EDIT: I've now talked with the Real Wanda and whoever it was at the shop this morning was not the real person. Whoever it was clearly is up to no good and I am going to find them and have a few "words" with them.

I would like to apologize to anyone who tried to check in on me this weekend. I had wanted to be alone, and Sutton Cottage was following my wishes.

I am [...] not used to having people who care about my well-being. Back home, I had spent most of my time alone with my books, and at the time, that had been enough for me. And so, it seems, I prefer to retreat back to them when things are difficult.

Thank you, all of you, for being my friend. I do appreciate your care and concern, even if I may not have seemed like it at the time. I will endeavour to not isolate myself again.

I was told that I can contact others in this community by means of this device. The technology here is quite different from where I woke this morning, but it seems very user friendly easy to understand and adapt to. I do have a question, however: are many fingered creatures considered part of the normal forest wildlife? If so, how does one go about not encountering them?

You'd think I'd be helpful in this particular situation, but whatever magic it is making the plants affect people, it doesn't react to mine at all. Maybe just don't touch anything growing out of the ground for a while? And I'd steer clear of Sutton Cottage until it's over, considering the abundance of roses we've got. I'll be taking my own advice; If I get stuck in a true-love's-kiss situation I'm really in trouble.

Oh my! What an experience! I can't say that I would ever choose to switch places with my child self. But now at least I can say that I have some happy memories where there weren't many before. Thank you everyone who took the time to watch out for the younger versions of us all!

Our tale of choice this afternoon is the Old English story of Beowulf, as told by Miss Heliotrope Undersea. It does have some scary moments, so today's story time is not recommended for children who don't want to hear about monsters being beaten to death.

This loud little bloke strolled right into Puddifoot's with me yesterday morning, then followed me straight home after I'd gone through the books. He's officially been here twenty-four hours, has made himself comfortable at the window, and refuses to be shooed away. I suppose that means I have no choice but to accept I have a cat now.



My ears will never be the same. I haven't figured a name yet, but whatever it is should be a comment on his volume, I think.

I'm having dinner Friday, somewhere relatively nice. The vibe is straddling the line between "dinner date" and "just friends doing friend things in the wake of unspeakable horrors" and I need an outfit that can pivot. Ordinarily I'd let Mercy dress me but Mercy isn't here, and I haven't had time to buy anything suitable, so. Bestie, help a girl out. Do I go with a black dress or something like top + jeans + heeled boots?

Hello.

At approximately 0830 I was taken prisoner by geese.

In accordance with best practices in hostage situations, I attempted to establish a rapport with my captors. I did not get into an ideological or philosophical debate with them (mostly because I can only understand maybe every other word they are saying/honking) but I did provide them with sound, logical, reasonable issues that I think they haven't considered. I am not complaining or being belligerent with them.

I have made MANY observations about them, even though I do not have my notebook. And I know the exact way to get to where we are from where I was, because I was taking notes in my head about the directions.

Also, please do not comply with their demands, because that only rewards VERY bad behavior.
