Alright guys. As you all know, I finally went and wrote my GED on Friday, and I just got a call with the results. And I

( Did I fail? I might have. )

Thank you for those who have been helping me settle in. While it's certainly an unusual place (skipping down the street for half an hour was not something I wanted to do but I do suppose it could have been a lot worse.

Also, to those asking no I am not going to go to school. I am eighteen and education is not something I have ever enjoyed. I am looking for thins to do with my time though.

I have been doing a lot of research, and actually the amulet is very interesting, it is almost like a riddle. You have to say the words differently depending on what phase the moon is in (this seems silly to me, but I suppose it is appropriately mystical and the sort of thing you get in myths anyway). In any case I can now change back and forth whenever I like, so long as there are some clothes conveniently nearby. Or even not, if it is an emergency? It is less hassle to go the other way, but there are so many things I can do in a man shape, so do not be surprised if I wear it a lot from now on.

I have been very busy and not writing here, so there is a lot I have not mentioned - my pavilion has been finished, with a roof at last, and also Emily is here now, who was one of my best officers even if she is not actually mine anymore, she is Excidium's, but since he is not here I am sure he would not mind if I borrowed her occasionally.

I've sort of been surprised before about just how long I've been here, so I'll skip that part of this post and instead focus on how in that time I've met way more people than I would have ever expected. I spent a number of years traveling on my own before a bunch of wild adventurers shook up my life, so maybe I should be used to that. The difference between that and here, though, is how we're all from such varied, different places. Back home we were a scattered group across continents, but here in Vallo it's worlds.

I know this isn't news to literally anyone here, but it just had me thinking and I wanted to ask: what's your original home like, wherever you were before you were here? From those I've talked to, it's been a real variety with some having similar to Vallo itself, others from places with no magic, some in space. So, if you're so inclined, tell me about it.

Oh and I should add that the last thing I want is for anyone to get too overwhelmed or bummed with homesickness, so don't feel like you need to answer this if it'll be too much. I'm curious and want to get to know folks, but not so much that I want anyone to feel bad.

My Pictureworks project looks hideous, all the algebra has fallen out of my brain, my final paper for Composition is only half done, I screwed up my bibliography on the other paper, and the end of the semester is SO SOON. I need options other than "cry more" and "swear at a computer" and "eat every snack." Pls halp.

Also if anybody is good with word processing programs and can figure out what the hell I did to my bibliography to make the indents do what they're doing, I will draw literally anything you want for you.

I have confirmed that I am all that remains of my family in Vallo. All others from the land of my origin have gone on to other lives. Lotus Pier and the Burial Mounds are gone, but Cloud Recesses remains.

If any friends of Lan Wangji, Wei Wuxian, Lan Sizhui, Jiang Cheng, Jiang Yanli, Jin Ling, or George Weasley wish to join me in the traditional prayers for those who have moved on, I will hold the ceremony at the shrine at Cloud Recesses on Sunday, the fourth of December, at 2 in the afternoon.

Hello again, my old friends. I appear to have undergone a temporal contretemps. I am confident, if a little woeful, that it will be temporary - pun almost certainly not intended - but for as long as it lasts I should very much like to see you all again, should you have the time. I will of course not share any details regarding your personal futures unless you ask - far aside from being potentially distressing, I am not altogether certain it might not cause a paradox, even in Vallo.

Amazing how accostumed one becomes to things; I remember in my first year here how incredible all technology seemed to be, and now how terribly outdated everything is! And to think it has only been a century and a half; how quickly all worlds turn. I might write a poem about it.

I'm having flashbacks from the last time I was in there. What great fun we had, such long-term friendships that were made. Remember the time I threw people out the fucking window and that ended in our deaths? Good times.

For everyone who is new, if you're worried, they'll be okay. They'll go through it for a few days and then return to us. Perhaps there will be some lasting trauma, but that seems to be super common in Vallo, and there is affordable therapy here. Not sure what you all were doing to get us back last time but from what I remember, nothing really worked and we just returned on our own.

I want to almost say I'm glad it's not us again. Who knows, maybe someone else will make a life-long friendship like ours.. full of yeeting across rooms and tossing throw pillows at!

So, tomorrow is my birthday. We had a dinner planned for it and I wanted to invite you but I think it's going to be postponed. I imagined you wouldn't want to really show up with everything going on. Are you doing okay?

I do apologise to my fellow students for not being able to host the study group for the last few weeks while I was recuperating. I am behind on my studies now, however, so meetings will begin proper from this Thursday night. Hopefully nothing very dreadful happens in the meantime to interrupt. Also please do not be alarmed by my appearance, I am perfectly well, and I am sure the scars will heal up eventually.

Now that university has begun at last, I should like to host a study group here at the covert. We can use my pavilion in the evenings now, as it is almost finished except for the roof, which is always the most difficult and time-consuming part and the part where we are inevitably interrupted and have to leave it unfinished. I should like to meet some of my fellow students in person and I am sure we can be of help to each other even if we are studying different subjects.

Who should like to attend, and what is your preferred day?

For a birthday a million miles from home, it was a pretty great one. Thanks everybody for making me feel like a total birthday princess!

Welcome to the official conference of Vallo's greatest minds, you guys, I need your wisdom.

So, before the whole...everything back home, Nick and I were like...almost a thing? I liked him, he liked me, and it was maybe about to go somewhere, but we kind of got interrupted by a raging werewolf. Then there were...problems. A bunch of problems. And then we ended up here, and like, there's been nothing since. So I thought maybe he'd decided he didn't like me like that after all, or at least that he didn't want to do anything about it.

Except yesterday, he helped Ignis with my cake, and he got me the cutest present in the whole world. Look at this! It's adorable, and that could just be because he knows I like adorable things and just wanted to get me something I would like, but it's also almost like getting me flowers? Which is sort of romantic?? What am I supposed to think of this???????

They have bunny shaped buns at this festival with various fillings, though I've only tried the custard. Another booth has dragon shaped croissants, though these ones are not for sale here. They look like works of art.

I require assistance.

There is a small, dragon-like creature that is insistent upon the destruction of my private and sacred belongings. It breathes flame.

If this is your creature, please retrieve it immediately. It has defiled the tranquility of Cloud Recesses and my cultivation partner insists on memorializing the moment with photography.

A few different people have told me I'm not dead, but I still feel like I might be dead. If there's a heaven, it definitely involves me getting scooped up by a friendly dragon and his fancy dragon-rider buddy and told that magic is real and it doesn't want to kill me, and oh yeah, most of your friends are here, too. Including some you're pretty sure were Though I guess "you walked right into Heinlein's multiple-universe setup" also works? I always thought that sounded cool.

I guess I'm looking for my friends? Can you guys see this? The lady at the office said you should be able to see this. It's Mike, and I'm standing on a sidewalk in the weirdest city I've ever seen.

So, I've been here for two days now, and I can already tell that this place is a trip (in a good way, not in a "Oh shit, I accidentally wandered into a Dio album cover and now I'm fucked" kind of way. This Moon Day thing is kind of weird, but I can get behind it).

Anyway, I'm Eddie Munson, and I've already heard you guys have metal here (thanks for the recs, Danvers). What about Dungeons & Dragons. Have you guys heard of that? Because if not, boy, do I have a game for you.


Also, I'm nearly out of money (not that the welcome money wasn't nice), so if anyone has any leads on anything, let me know I guess.
