The whole 'serving coffee to supernatural creatures' novelty wore off really quickly once I got my third uber-specific order of the day.

Hi. MJ. I've been here a few weeks now, but this is all weird and I don't know what's going on a good ninety percent of the time and it felt doubly weird introducing myself when everything seemed messed up.

I am very thankful for Tina Cohen-Chang's impeccable organization skills. It has made stepping into managing The Art of Expression much less troublesome than it could be, and also offered great inspiration for improving my own systems. Now that I know of "color-coding" I will never be able to return to simple black and white sorting again.

Some announcements for the public:

• Registration for Art of Expression Youth Art Camps (open to young people between the ages of 5 and 18) will remain open until the 13th of May.
  
• Beginning in June, Art of Expression will host "open studio nights," events which will allow audiences to connect with artists of all kinds and witness their work. If you are an artist interested in sharing your craft with others through these events, please contact me.
  
• The Art of Expression will be hosting a juried exhibition of visual art in autumn. The theme is Proportion. Applications will be due September 30.

It will have been a month since Laudna and I arrived here. I know that is a very short amount of time compared to some of you, but it is probably the longest that I have been stationed in one place since I left my home several years ago and that feels like quite something. Who knew that it would take being pulled into another world to do it?

Oddly enough, I'm not complaining despite the circumstances. I've been trying to hedge my expectations, but it's proven to be an expect the unexpected sort of place. That isn't necessarily a complaint, either. I have always liked flower crowns.

I hope everyone is back to how they are supposed to be! If anyone isn't let us know and we'll try to figure out what's wrong.

My illusions professor and I are going to do some extra work on glamours so this totes doesn't happen again!

I managed to avoid whatever strange magic was happening recently, and now my shakkan is here! It's very itchy and needs pruning both literally and magically, but otherwise it seems perfectly happy to be here.

The magic siphoning is going to give me a lot of power I'd rather use than try to keep in reserve, so if anyone needs any gardens given a big boost, herbs, teas or medicines strengthened, or... I don't know, big buildings demolished in dramatic fashion, let me know.
