And it's only hit me that that means my yearly anniversary of being in Vallo is coming up. In that year, I've had friends here, they disappeared on us, and then I got pulled into an alternative universe and also, I've started to learn magic. A whole lot can happen in a year here, apparently.

What have you done to usually celebrate one year here?

A coworker wouldn't stop going on about it yesterday while I was trying to eat lunch and I'm half convinced they were being paid for advertising and the crowd was hard to miss when I was walking to get into work this morning.

I don't remember much from the last week. Just this weird feeling that I was happy, wherever I was. And now I'm kinda sad. Like I'm missing people.

I have a sword now. A magical sword, so that's a thing and I'm not sure what to think about it. Also, it was sticking out of my coffee table Sword-in-The-Stone style. I've already pulled it out and no one crowned me the king of anything. (I need a new coffee table).

I don't think The Doll appreciated me being gone for over a week. But I think I've finally got things at my apartment back under control. I can sleep without my windows rattling, weird shadows watching me from the closet, blood pouring out of my faucets, pulsating sores in my walls and whatever has been screaming in my fridge (No, Leon, I did not open it).

Also, I've been told what a fucking weirdo creep I was in that other world. I'm horrified about what he/I did and I'm sorry to everyone he/I hurt. I don't know what I can do, or if there's anything I can do to make it up.

I just went to keep an eye on the portal and caught the tail end of what looked like new arrivals being taken in by the rebels. A big mess of them, not just the usual trickle of one or two.

I didn't see them come through the portal specifically, but 1+1=2 and all that.

The studio owner granted his permission, so long as the pair do the photo shoot after hours and credit the studio.
As the two are getting some risqué shots on a set made up to look like the laboratory of a mad scientist, a strange feeling comes over them both. It feels as though someone or something is watching them from the shadows.]
