The kids yesterday made a bunch of Valentine's Day cards and drawings and we put them out on the fence this morning. If you need a last minute card - there's very questionable declarations of love (ie: I love you even though you fart) for your significant other, or a lot of just fun pick me ups for any friends (or yourself, we don't judge) who might need a little love today. They were all super excited about this and I'm really hoping it gets cleared out for them so come on by and grab something.

We don't have a holiday like today's back home, but I have to say that I kind of like it. Love is a nice thing to see worn on sleeves. This might make me a sap, but that's all right. Guilty as charged.

And sure, maybe you shouldn't really need a holiday to tell someone--romantic or platonic or somewhere in between--that you care, but it's nice to have the added excuse.

Also, they had heart-shaped hand pies at the bakery today, so...breakfast is on me, Hells.

Today is the day. I think everything is ready but I am worried I forgot something. There are candles and music. I will have a final meal delivered. I do not know what kind. I am going to let him choose. I will let him watch the sunset one last time before I do it. There is a tarp so that we do not leave a mess. Oh! Do not go into the attic tonight, I am barring the way so he can’t escape if he gets the death jitters. You know, the twitchies.

Moment of appreciation for my favorite person, who continues to tolerate my mediocre guitar playing skills and doesn't question it when I insist on dragging his ass out of bed early for a full day of playing into valentines day consumerism. I'm not sorry about stealing your bacon at breakfast, though.
