I didn't manage to get everyone into one big picture, but half the fun of this month is being able to dress up my menagerie of animals. Well, those willing anyway. Salem is still a big no.

If Vallo could please not have anything dramatic happen in the next week with the Magic Department's fearless leader now gone that would be great. Bonnie, I think this means you're now it.

Anyway, Thurvishar was an amazing lead and an even better mentor. He always knew how to talk to anyone who came to us with questions or ideas or complaints or at least seemed like he did. I hope he's doing better back home, but honestly? It always seems like its 50/50 on if Vallo is better than anyone's world.

I woke up to keys on my side table and a new shiny car that goes with the keys by Lux. So, I guess Vallo decided to give me a car.

Which means I need to finally learn how to drive.

I kind of wish I'd gotten another animal instead. Even if its a very pretty car.

Maze had her six puppies early this morning. She's sticking to Pandemonium with them but head's up to those who have access: try not to crowd her because she nearly bit off a demon's head for getting a little too close. I'd rather not have any decapitations on a Wednesday.

an excerpt from Lady Boyle's Travel Guide: Serkonos, Chapter 4 - Surviving the Serkonan Sun:


1. Wear loose, lightweight fabrics. Leave the wool in Gristol if you want to survive your summer holiday by the crystal blue sea. Cotton and linen will become your new closest companions.
2. But not too close! Those poufy blouses and wide sleeves on the women and men of Karnaca aren't just for style - the more air flow you can get, the happier you'll be.
3. Think twice before baring everything. You may see a Cullero dockworker going shirtless all day and think "I shall abandon my wardrobe entirely!" without considering that your delicate Dunwall skin is not inured to the heat and the sun's constant rays. Take it from a lady who has suffered sunstroke: keep covered or weep.
4. Hats have not been the fashion in Dunwall for some time, but they are a practical necessity if you must be about on the southern isle. A broad brim will provide much-needed shade for the face no matter where you may find yourself standing.
5. Time your activities according to the sun! If you wish to take a hike on Shindaery Peak, start at first light and finish before the sun reaches its zenith. If you want to enjoy the food stalls in Cyria Gardens, venture out at sunset and enjoy your fried plantains as you watch the lantern-lighting that come with dusk. What to do in the afternoon? Enjoy the lovely local tradition of the afternoon nap.
6. Water and juice will serve you far better than champagne in the heat (though I must recommend the champagne and peach cocktail they serve at the Grand Karnaca Hotel). Keep drinking to keep yourself in enough sweat to cool your body as it evaporates.
7. Enjoy smaller meals with only moderate amounts of meat (if any). The work of digestion raises the heat of the body! Spread it out over the day as much as you can; there's a reason Serkonos invented Small Plates!
8. Not one place in any town will be running the ovens or stovetops in the heat of the day, and you shouldn't, either. It's hot enough without creating extra sources of it.
9. Treat yourself to a basin of cool water for soaking your feet at the end of the day. It will cool you off for sleep and feel positively divine!
10. And finally, when choosing a hotel room, look for one on the ground floor. Heat rises, and accordingly upstairs rooms are particularly upsetting in a Serkonan summer. For maximum beauty sleep, stay low and shaded.

Mimosas crew

So Vallo decided not to give me an animal this month (thank you, Vallo) and instead I got a yacht? IDEK, guys. But its summer and I hired a captain, chef and crew for Friday 12pm to Wednesday 12pm to do a journey around some of the smaller islands outside of Vallo.

There's enough rooms for all of you and I've already paid for everything. But if you want to come for a day or the whole thing lmk and also lmk if you want specific food or alcohol to be stocked. I can set up some teleporting thing for anyone who can't make the whole thing but wants to come for part of it.

It occured to me that I hadn't introduced myself on the network yet despite being here a month or so. That was by design - I'd dismissed it as your typical social media time-sink - and while that opinion hasn't changed, I do enjoy a time-sink when it's interesting. And Vallo keeps proving to be interesting, in diversity if nothing else.

And so - Callum Nova. I doubt there's anyone skulking about from my world, but if there is, 'Nova' is familiar because of Nova Industries, the media conglomerate. Illusions are my family's trade; a love of bright, glittering, beautiful, ephemeral veneer - it's common everywhere. Why wouldn't it be? As of late I'd been in an - internship, we'll go with internship - with aspirations of being hired but honestly, fuck the library; fuck all libraries, even yours, especially yours, because why not? If it's not attached to the library I knew, it likely will be in time, because if there's one thing that the Alexandrian Society is good at it's seeping into new cracks like a mold. They'll not be keen on my talking about it (how dare I speak the name of the Society at all!) but they're a dull lot with their furtive little plots, and what will they do in retaliation? Conspire to kill me more? I hope they try; Vallo's entertaining enough at present but I simply can't cope in a world that's so well-intentioned.

At any rate: Demonikea. They use this muddy, hideous typeface that I won't attempt here. They sell furniture. I am, occasionally, there, and even more occasionally I'm working there. If you're amusing I'll give you my discount. Don't sign the receipts they hand you. I don't know what they'll do with your signature but rest assured it's nothing good.

Mimosas crew

Idk about anyone else's week but mine was a lot better when it started with a mimosa brunch. Anyone else up for making it a weekly occurrence? Probably at different locations.

We've gotten a lot of new people and had too many people lea and I know the intro video goes over a lot of places, but I know there's some that people don't always find out about until they've been here awhile and are usually blown away by! So! I think most of these are a big deal if you're from a version of Earth but even those of us not from it have found these places to be really cool to go to.

Atlantis: The lost city of Atlantis is here. It's underwater and where the Atlanteans live. You can visit it by passing through a checkpoint on [IDK REMEMBER THE NAME] beach. You might even change into something like a merperson while you're down there.

The Great Library of Alexandria: big library. I think for most of us its destroyed on our earth's. But its here and you can get a library card to go peruse it

Theme parks: Blizzardworld and Critical Role Land. We had Disney but it was only for a few days.

There's also a dinosaur island but I'm pretty sure that's still blocked from visitors.
