Apparently whatever has been in the air is still in the air, as I just spent the latter half of my first class this morning answering questions about my childhood, in far greater detail than I would have ever indulged on a regular day.

I foresee several weeks of being called Professor Essie.

Turns out the egg was not a giant bird, dragon or a snake. I'm pretty sure its a baby hydra.

It's about half my height right now but I have no clue how big these things get. It'll be staying in my little area of the forest and shouldn't bother anyone.

Does anyone know what they eat?

Does anyone here have experience with helping creatures to fly? Dragons, specifically, is my interest, but that is probably a rare skill set.

I have witnessed several crash landings today, including into a tree and a river.
