How do you people live like this? Without magic? I am sweltering. I feel like I'm going to choke on my own sweat.

Sometimes I don't feel like sharing what I'm creating with people until it's done, sometimes I scrap a project halfway through, sometimes I never share what I've made, but sometimes? Sometimes I just want to sit around with chill people and sculpt the shit out of something amazing.

Or substitute your medium of choice, it's cool.

Soooooooooooo anyone interested in getting together and arting it up? Judgement free zone (unless you invite critiques, in which case, we'll put down guidelines because having the courage to have what you're creating examined by someone in public is amazing, but some people aren't ready and that's cool too). BYOS (bring your own supplies) and projects. I have no idea how many people, if any, are interested so I'm offering the Haus as a space for now and if we get bigger, then we can find somewhere else.

I begin the new year (by the way, your calendar is quite strange but I've always thought that) with a new position - in addition to being one of the proprietors at the glorious Glorious Purveyors shop for all your arcane accoutrements needs, I am also now head of the University of Unseen Arts, the school for advanced magical studies started by Sabrina's aunt.

I am continuing to teach Necromancy and Elemental Magics there as well, but should anyone be seeking a position with the school as a teacher or something more administrative, do contact me. Potential students are also welcome to enroll, we have a variety of subjects taught including Dueling, Demonology, Dark Arts, and Hedge Magic. Loads more taboo subjects than your standard sort, but we'd be glad to have you.

And with that, I open a bottle of Hirol's Lava Burst which, quite literally, tastes like burning.

I haven't seen one giant bug today. Is it over? Are the streets free of bugs and guts? I ruined my only good pair of shoes stepping in something vaguely acidic and I'm a little over it.

So about the other ni-

Apparently, if you want to get kicked out of this place, all you have to do is have a conversation or two with me. A holiday dinner doesn't hurt either. Any takers? Not sure what holiday is happening next here but we could totally make one up. I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

And if you want coffee, I recommend The Friendly Pixie run by the meanest, tiniest barista I have ever met. She'll swear at you and tell you the dozen things she'd rather be doing than making your latte so naturally she's my favorite. I barely ventured out of the apartment building during the great bug massacre but when I did, it was to get coffee from Ms. Cheerful herself.

(That's a real recommendation, by the way. She's my kind of people. Are pixies people?)

Anyway, since I've been here there's been a blizzard and bugs. And apparently some totally weird body-swap thing going on?

What's next?

I've been here for a little while, and I think I'm starting to get used to everything here. Mostly. The giant bugs were certainly a surprise.

I'd like to try and make some more friends. Would anyone be interested in getting coffee with me? Or maybe starting a book club? Something where a group of us can get together and chat and get to know each other.

I also need a job, so who's hiring? Usually my niche is forensic science, but unless the police department here is in need of one, I don't think that's going to come in very handy. Any suggestions or leads?

I think I need a proper job, if anybody's hiring? I'm pretty good at anything kinda handy. I can help out a bit in the kitchen, too.

Hey, can I talk to you about something? Not really a bad thing but kind of a personal thing. That needs discretion.

I have all the respect and admiration for magic users and wielders, so please understand that I mean nothing by it when I say oh thank the gods that is over. Don't get me wrong -- it was very cool once I could control it and I felt more powerful than I ever have. But I was just able to slink into shadows and out of small talk with a stranger while picking up dinner and no amount of magic will compare to my ease at disappearing when I am dabbling in being socially awkward.

Anyway, thank you for letting me borrow for a bit Zoya, but I am happy to be my roguish paladin (paladinish rogue?) self once more.

Anyone available to spar and/or go for a drink or six?

It is not the first time I have awakened naked in a cave, but I welcome the return of the quiet. Animals are far more talkative than they have any right to be.
