Just wanted to thank everyone who came out to the Haus for New Year's Eve! ♥ It was an absolute joy to bring in the new year at Vallo with y'all! I hope those of you who had the tub juice have somewhat recovered, and there is a lot of unclaimed clothing, jewelry, and wallets at our place still! If you lost something, feel free to come by when you can to pick it up! I'll give you a slice of pie in a to-go container! :)

Speaking of pie, y'all know it's the beginning of the month, which means a new menu at the Apothecary! January can sometimes be a little sad, post-holiday blues. But I promise these pies will warm you right up! 🤗

So anyone who was here at the beginning of last year, were giant wasps a thing?

Or is that just a new, fun addition to the crazy that is Vallo?

I didn't arrive until the end of January so. Just checking.

If anyone wants to deal with giant wasps the farms over near that one tree twisted like a heart could reaaaaaaaaaaallly use some help.

I can't help but be of the opinion that giant spiders are best left as served food, than encountered alive while finishing one's errands. Given talk of other large insects, I do not know why I was so surprised, but here we are.

Though, I suppose that now there are several dead ones, so -- halfway there.

I'm not saying I'm upset because I'm not, but it's weird to be the only one from home. When I showed up in Tumbleweed I was surrounded. It's like they were everywhere and then there was two of one.

In news that seems to be rampant around this place, I've had to murder too many bugs. They had it coming, though, so I'm not sorry about it. Anyone's magic fueled by bug guts?

I just saw a huge centipede and a giant spider fight to the death.
The centipede won.

There are also several of the giant spiders lurking around outside of the bunker. I think they were looking for their friends that took up residence on the roof this morning, but they're dead now so - I suppose they'll be sorely disappointed.

I have to know a couple of things: first, where did this whole idea of kissing someone at midnight of New Year's come from? How did it practically become mandatory to a point at which people think its pathetic NOT to kiss someone then? Like Valentine's Day is just around the corner, some of us don't need that much of an early reminder of our singledom.

Second, what are the most unconventional and weirdest resolutions you can think of? I'm trying to get creative here when people decide to ask the bartender what they picked.

Someone please keep an eye out and let me know if anyone spots any buzzard-wasps around here. I think I can handle most of everything but those things are terrible and if they show up then I know there's a breach of giant insects coming from our world.
