The first part is a bunch of chemistry that I won't bore you to sleep with, but I'll keep it short by saying they use controlled electrolysis to superheat metals like magnesium, which in turn function as the heat of an above-water forge! But that's not where it ends! They can either forge something entirely with this superheated metal (in excess of 5000 °F if they want!) or coat something else with it. That latter part is what I spent a lot of time learning. Imagine crafting armor or weapons out of wood, or porcelain, or even just bone or coral, then coating it with a lightweight but extremely durable metal outer shell. The applications are staggering! I'm hoping to set up a regular exchange with them :D

Oh and also my workshop from home showed up a few weeks ago, literally right behind the smithy. So you haven't been imagining that the place is nearly four times as large now. This means I have plenty of room to try and replicate what I've learned or build new feats of engineering! I'm pretty excited, someone may need to check on me from time to time to make sure I've remembered to eat!

This isn't a new statement by any means, but holy shit new memories from home packs a hell of a mental punch.

With the invitations, I was thinking maybe some of us could volunteer to go first? Just to make sure everything is on the up and up? I can offer to go, but the magic they use may or may not work on me.

So I wanted to thank everyone who came out to the Sizzlin' Spectacular Summer Shindig at Rose Apothecary a couple weeks ago - it was très fun and you did a good thing for your skin so yay you!

I also think we're all aware that bunnies are rude and the boss bunny was the rudest of them all and my wrist is fractured and I have to probably have a special splint thingee incorporated into my costume for Six, and also have my current costume altered since I'm stress eating like a mofo but that's okay. Because we have a new deal going on at Rose Apothecary. The 'I Hate Everything Ever' package includes:

• A whipped body cream
• A lip balm with botanical extracts
• Rose and jasmine perfume
• A hand-poured votive candle
• And a tote!

So you may hate Everything Ever but you can still love yourself. Light a candle and eat a brownie, as you celebrate you.

Started to go for a run and I just found our house not too far from the Quills. Looks like ours anyway. Smells right too. Going to see if it's infested with lutin or anything. If I stop responding, bring some salt.

Are you lot affected by this weirdness going around? Not that ending up something different every time I shift isn't a good time, but for fuck's sake. An elephant and then a badger? At this rate, I'll be a field mouse soon.

This place, in no way or form, looks like Fillory. Which is good because I never woke up this morning and wished a portal to take me back to New Fillory. As a secondary point of business, I've taken a job at the orphanage near the Quills, and I am not the best can't carry a tune to save my life which is only technically a l but if someone were more musically inclined and happened to like children, we would be interested in hiring your services on a once-a-week basis to come perform a sing-a-long with the children. I'm happy to compensate you with baked goods or coin, provided you don't make the children cry.
