Another point of this message was to say that I am turning 127 years old tomorrow (or not that old, but I'm just going by what Tommy would say). Should you wish to celebrate with me, I'll be taking a small open-air boat to Genosha in the morning, just a very casual trip, but plan to have a picnic on board and then spend some time on the island, which is far warmer than the mainland has been.

Either way, Anna and myself are going but I wouldn't mind seeing everyone else too. Celebrating birthdays is more fun with a group, I hear.

You want to know what's really dumb? The fact that all of the pregnancy memes out there on the internet are super not funny and real basic suburban mom shit.

Alright, tonight is the second night of Hanukkah, the winter holiday that isn't legally obligated to have Mariah Carey playing every five minutes, that doesn't have an old man breaking in to your house to eat your food, and that doesn't have questionable labor practices for people and animals.

No, we instead have a celebration of the rededication of the Second Temple at the beginning of the Maccabbean revolt in which the Jewish people rose up against their Greek-Syrian oppressors! And the lights of the temple burned for eight nights even though there was only enough oil for one night! A Hanukkah miracle!

At home, celebrating Hanukkah looks like lighting the menorah (each night you add a candle for the lights of the temple), playing the dreidel (it's a 4 sided top, btw, all three of my brothers cheat, I should be better at it because I roll d4s all the time and yet), my bubbe getting Tommy and I mixed up every other conversation, seven nights of practical presents like sweaters from my parents with one night of something cool, Here, I promised Tommy these amazing jelly filled donuts called sufganiyot tonight, so if anyone's bored, our apartment is open.

Just keep an eye on your chocolate coins around Tommy.

I understand there's quite a bit going on right now, but - are there any technologically-minded individuals who wouldn't mind lending a hand with Sentinels? They are gigantic robots created to eradicate mutants, or anyone with the potential to have mutant children. And while crushing them like they're tin cans would technically be easy for me, they can take ice and stone forms. They also can mimic powers, and shapeshift to change sizes as well.

But they're very strong and do not deviate from their 'mission' easily. Rogue and myself managed to take one down but there are a few others out there, combing the forest. I have a few of the parts we've scavenged, if that would help create some kind of mechanism to dismantle them and their programming in one fell swoop.

Pierogi for anyone who helps? Is that what I'm known for now? I suppose it's better than what I'm known for back home.

This morning on the way to the smithy I ran into a small herd of - well, they looked like metal deer? Their bodies were metal, their antlers were metal and had blades attached as well. I've never spotted anything like them before, and I'm in the forest quite a bit. Just wanted to check and see if any of you have encountered anything out of sorts and/or gauge if it's time for another Round of This Is Happening. Could be, could be something entirely different. Could be nothing.

* carry a wrench. A pipe wrench is best, but a sufficiently large crescent wrench will do.
* mimics can only mimic things they've seen, so be very suspicious if you see two of something that you're not sure there should be two of
* When you see a suspicious object, give it a sharp whack with the wrench
* Do not do this to identical twins, mimics can almost never mimic a whole entire human
* Do not do this to me, I have no interest in biting any of you or using you as a host for mimic offspring. I am a very bad cat but I am a nice mimic.

Rosh Hashanah will be upon us soon, and it's one of the holidays I do try to celebrate here - I can't say I am good about celebrating all of them, in accordance with my faith, but I have the time and space to at least try so that's what I plan to do again. I also plan to host a dinner at our penthouse, for anyone interested in attending and you don't have to be Jewish, you can just like food - the standard Rosh Hashanah foods will be available (challah, apples and honey, etc) but I also plan to rope my grandson Tommy into helping me make plenty of pierogi (surprise, Tommy). Everything will take place on the evening of September 6th.

One of the traditions for Rosh Hashanah is also to try something new, a hobby or a game or visit a new place, or make a list of what you no longer need and getting rid of those things - to make a donation. For that part, Anka Irene will help me - she has a lot of toys and clothes that could be donated elsewhere, and it's always a good feeling to kind of start fresh with things. Even if sometimes, here, we're forced to start over again very unexpectedly sometimes.
