Last Friday was Night of Ascension, the holy day for my personal death goddess back home, which would make it the fourth that I have observed in one way or another since I have been in Vallo. A book was stolen from the Great Library’s Special Collections section about twenty minutes ago. I made an attempt at apprehending the thief but was unsuccessful in doing so. I am hereby requesting an investigation by the DOA, as I suspect this is part of a pattern.

Additional relevant information:
- the stolen volume is The Art of Control, a study in mind magic that is forbidden in nearly every world where it exists
- the thief was dressed in ancient Assyrian style, Neo-Assyrian Empire period
- the thief seemed to disappear in the alley behind the library

FILTERED TO CHAOS CREW.

I had a change of heart recently and thought burning my brother's journals, literally, which have been burning a hole in my mind, figuratively, would help with the intense desire I have felt to read them as of late. But it is raining and burning a book inside the train seems ill-advised given children. I'm taking the rain as a sign that I should wait on the burning.

And I have moved them to a child-proof location in Evie's quarters in case Graciela decides to start teething on one.

Defense Team training tomorrow, just in case anyone is going to pretend they didn't see my texts last week. For the newbies, we try to do these once a quarter and they're generally themed to fit the season, so dress for hot weather and being out on the water. If you're bothered by the ocean or swimming at all, send me a private message and we can talk about it. We're not looking to traumatize anyone. This is for team building and a bit of fun tension relief. This job can be draining and we need everyone at their best.

Oh and we'll feed you, so don't worry about bringing anything but sunscreen. Well, that and a good attitude. I'm not saying you can't complain, but I am saying it's annoying. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
