I had one of those not-dreams last night. There was a time when I actually wished they would happen. I felt left out. And then... I don't know what changed. I began to dread them. Maybe because so many of them sounded so unpleasant, and the pessimist in me expected that unpleasantness would inevitably find me, as well. I hate that I was right, and even still, it was more upsetting than I could possibly imagine.

Why am I writing about it here? Because it's what everyone else does? Because I need a cathartic experience? It's like a wet, icy blanket that I cannot shake off.

Best damn thing about the Super Bowl tonight was that Amazon commercial with Harrison Ford. That was funny as hell.

Did anyone else not into football watch the Kitten and Cat bowls today? I look forward to those every year, although now I've got my own tiny fluff to watch and play with. I think he was a little jealous we were watching other cats, though.

I'm so glad the kitten with only one eye got pulled out of the game because he got adopted. Seeing him just tugged at my heartstrings. Laurel and Madison kept wanting every cat they saw, which. Trust me, girls, I understand that. But we've got two dogs, four horses, and a kitten. I don't think we need any more animals right now, and Am does not need me to give him the Look with the two of you.

Are you kidding me right now? I finally get one of those things that I THINK are the dreams, but it's basically my childhood all over again. There are really only a few changes. Come ON.

Out of all the things I expected to happen over the government being shut down last month, seals taking over a beach was not one of them. I mean, to be fair, it probably belonged to them long before humans came along. Keep squatting, guys, maybe you can keep it permanently.

To those who may be in any of my classes this term: if you turned in an assignment electronically over the last week, my office computer is playing "Hide and Seek" with them. So, those grades may be a little late...

I never realized what a holiday Halloween was here in the States! Everyone seems to go all out! Parties, clubs, schools! I may have to give in to this idea and dress up myself!

Now the question is who! The possibilities seem endless!

Being English, I always celebrated Guy Fawkes Night moreso than Halloween. I'm curious, would any fellow Brits, or anyone else here, be interested in a Guy Fawkes Night celebration? There may not be a life-sized effigy of Guy Fawkes to burn, but there will at least be a smaller one. Food and so forth will also be provided if anyone is interested in coming.

For those who don't know, Guy Fawkes Night is November 5th.

I’ve been so busy practicing, that I FORGOT MY OWN BIRTHDAY the other day. Who does that? I mean, mine and Alice’s family didn’t let me forget it for long. But I was so confused why my phone kept going off in class that I turned it off. And then wondered why my Dad was at Alice’s, ready to take us all out to dinner. It was super embarrassing when Mom asked me if I remembered what day it was. Although I’ve been eating leftover cake as breakfast for the past few days, so that helps take some of the sting away?

Well I'm never eating skittles again. The new commercial is just too disturbing. Who wants candies that are coming out of a giraffe when you're milking it?

No, Mom, I don’t really want to fly out to join you for you hosting a marathon of your own fake ghost show on Halloween. I’m not homeschooled anymore, I actually have a schedule to go by. You remember, that tuition thing you’re paying for? I’ve got classes to take and projects to work on. That, and I still don’t know how to bring up the whole “hey you know how you didn’t tell me about the other half of my family my entire life?” thing.

So had the first casualty of my living out here finally - RIP coffeepot. You served me well over the years, kept me well caffeinated with my insane schedule and family. Now to find your successor before next week since I know I'll need one at my place on Halloween if I'm going to survive work. What's the best place to buy one out here? And if anyone suggests I go to a place that sells nothing but those damn Keurig machines I make no promises about resisting the urge to cuss your ass out.

I made these adorable Halloween cookies, and I think I've eaten my weight in them. (Okay, not really. But I've had five of them so far. I'm debating a sixth.) They'll be available in the bakery starting on Monday.

Does anyone else have a favorite Halloween confection or treat? I'm always looking to add to our repertoire. And Thanksgiving is right around the corner! We do make pies! Put in your orders early!

There's a costume contest at the office, but I'm not sure I'm going to be participating this year. I've been told that I'm not allowed to wear my suit. To be fair, I understand how someone might assume I'd just put on my Iron Man suit and win all of the competitions, but that seems a little both unfair and lazy.

I'm waiting for inspiration to strike. Perhaps I'll get a costume this year after all.

I never knew it was possible to be banned from parent teacher conferences, but I have been. Apparently the girls teacher didn’t appreciate being called an idiotic twat for failing Madison on a spelling test just because she had capitalized the first letter of each word. Well, that and telling me she didn’t understand why I was so upset that she’d mixed the girls names up since ‘they’re identical’.

First off - I’m upset because you don’t seem to understand that, while they are identical twins, they are separate individuals with distinct personalities. Which anyone with half a brain would see if they paid attention for five damn minutes while in the room with them. And you, their teacher, are trying to behave and treat them as if they’re interchangeable. Secondly - you made my daughter feel like she was stupid over some arbitrary spelling rule that you yourself admitted not having told the kids beforehand. And the final reason I’m upset with? As an educator the teacher didn’t see any problem with either of those two things. So yes I called her an idiotic twat, and I don’t regret it and absolutely would again.

I guess it’s a good thing my fiance can go to these meetings for them. Although I do hope their teacher isn’t expecting him to go any easier on her than I did if he doesn’t like how she’s treating our girls.

Hello, everyone. I've just moved to the area. I'm from California, actually, but I've never spent much time in Orange County.

And I'm starting to see why.

My name is Loras. I fence and it keeps me quite busy, though I hope this network will help me meet more people around here.

Well, that was quite an experience! To be young again was a bit of fun, but I have to admit, I'm very happy to be back in my own adult body.

I find adolescent emotions are a bit too much at times.

The dreams left me yet another object from Wakanda. This time from my second set of dreams.

My sister Shuri made this for me and it is quite incredible. The entire suit fits inside the necklace. Nano technology, it is a wonderful thing.

This now makes 3 distinct Black Panther costumes/suits I now have.

You know, it doesn't matter how many wonders I've seen, everything about the moon is awesome. Especially when they find water!

So while I'm sitting on this cloud, as if I don't have a care in the world, it appears that I receive a letter from two children who are looking for a nanny. It seems to be the thing I've been waiting for as I fly down from the clouds to apply for the position! Even more, it seems that I literally blow away the competition!

I find that I've received a gift as well. Perhaps an early birthday gift? An umbrella. I must admit, as mental as it sounds, I'm tempted to see if my ability of flight has crossed over from the dreams. Such things have happened before, am I correct?

From the first, I had known that Temeraire's divine wind - his roar, which has, in the past, broken up air ships built by the French which had been carried over by dragons - was devastating, but I'm afraid that I didn't know entirely how devastating until last night.

An entire French frigate, 44 guns, swallowed by the sea. All hands on still on deck; not a soul could be saved. I'm afraid I dreamed of far too many lost lives last night, on both sides. Morgan was still just a boy.

Both Baxter Bakery locations are open and magically protected against these supernatural dangers. Please feel free to come to the Bakery should you need sanctuary. We have food, water, and medical supplies.

I must apologize to everyone for I feared this whole community was a bit bonkers. Talking about dreams as if it were another life, items randomly appearing in their rooms? You can't fault a woman for not believing it! At least until recently.

It seems I'm officially apart of the club, although I'm not sure what to think of it. I was sitting on a cloud, powdering my nose when I received a letter from two children in a request for a nanny. Other than the cloud portion of it, it actually seemed quite normal. I woke up almost feeling the mist from being up there.

I had those dreams you keep yammering on about.

The problems of my previous dreams- namely, how to separate Temeraire and I so the Chinese can whisk him away back to China - seem to be resolved: I will be accompanying Temeraire to China. I cannot say it sits right with me, being taken out of the front lines of one of the deadliest wars in all of history for more than a year (as I must. A one way journey to China, especially on a ship built like the Allegiance, will take upwards of six months, with favourable weather the whole time. We can hardly expect to be so fortuitous), but Temeraire has proven himself vital to the war efforts, and more important still to my dreamself as a companion and a confidante, and so every effort must be made to keep him British. Perhaps I should not be so anxious, however; if history holds true, there will still be eight years of fighting after our return assuming that we're both permitted to return.

If only our diplomat, a Mr. Arthur Hammond, felt the same way in regards to Temeraire. No, he seems keen on allowing the Chinese embassy to do what the will, damn the consequences. We have only just begun our journey to China, and relations are already strained between the British and the Chinese. I can only hope that in the next six months, no one lights a match to this powder keg though I can hardly expect such good luck.

It's hot and I'm stuck in a hotel without a pool because my band needs a better manager, but I'm here trying to make the best of the fact that this place does have free wi-fi to get some new music for myself.

I'm going to offer up Imagine Dragons - Thunder, cause it's the kind of song that even if you only know ONE WORD you've got the whole chorus basically. I love when conversations go:

I may have picked up Pokemon Go again now that they've added in a bunch of new features. And it may have rekindled my obsession with the game. I've got Pokeball shaped cookies at the bakery, and not only are we a gym, but there are two pokestops across the street that you can reach from the lobby.

All Pokemon trainers are welcome, though just know that if you take over the Baxter Bakery gym, it'll be blue again within the hour. ;)

I do not know if anyone is watching the World Cup, but England actually made it through to the quarterfinals after defeating Columbia on penalty kicks! England is notorious for losing penalty kicks, if the matches get to that point, so it was positively brilliant to watch them pull through today. I am proud of my countrymen for not disappointing us once again.

Guess it's about time I jump on the bandwagon and update y'all on my dreams:

So me and the rat (the talking Raccoon) go to save Peter from Ego, who is a livin' planet and happens to be his father (don't ask, it's a long story I ain't tellin'). After doin' a stupid amount of space jumps, and gettin' into the fray with Ego, it finally looks like we might have a shot at endin' the guy.

'cept our ship blew up in the fight between us and the stupid Sovereign ships that decided to show up. I ain't got no jet pack so I use my Yaka arrow to descend. Cuz y'know, I don't want to exactly fall to my death a couple hundred feet up.

Then Quill (Peter) starts laughin' at me, says I look like Mary Poppins.

Alien me doesn't know who that is.

So I go, "Is he cool?" to which Peter says, "Yeah." And I decided to announce to the goddamn world "I'M MARY POPPINS, Y'ALL."

You just have to love those miscommunications at work. Apparently the manager on duty was supposed to call me yesterday to tell me not to worry about coming in today. And then got distracted before making the call... but since he’d already written down that he’d called me - he thought he had and just forgot. So I got to the book store today, only to be met with “You weren’t supposed to come in today.”

Despite my year residence in the area, I still cannot understand why everything is so dirty. It's as if people are content with "clean enough". Surely if we spend the same amount of time paying attention to our cleanliness as we do to celebrity gossip, sports, and movies, we would be in a much better situation.

Last night I had a dream that involved more singing than anyone should be comfortable with outside of an opera or musical.

What's ridiculous is that in my day to day life I've actually had people politely ask me to stop singing along to the music. Everyone's a critic, I suppose.

So, I took Nymeria for a walk along that one hiking trail where two different people have tried to shoot her before, no offense Katniss, and so, we're walking and I couldn't help but notice some pretty sickly looking squirrels and things. Maybe some of the vets here should check on that or something.

And yes, I have heard about the missing hikers. I figured that if someone tried to kidnap me, Nymeria would have just attacked them.

Apparently this is the weekend for dreams. I was starting to think mine were doomed for a bit there. But finally, after months and months of these, the curse broke. And now we're just ... a bunch of fairytale characters living in Maine, I guess. Or maybe that's it and I won't have anymore. Who knows, right?

Well, I do believe I'm apart of this special dream club. I had a dream last night that, when I woke up, made me feel like I had just stepped out of another life. It had felt so real. But it was the most peculiar dream. I was just sitting on top of a cloud, as if I hadn't a care in the world! How does one sit upon a cloud? Laws of physics tells me it's impossible, yet upon waking, it seemed only natural that one would sit upon a dense matter of liquid. That was all I dreamed about, fairly short. Powdering my nose. And I felt like I was waiting for something. There was something in the wind, but I woke up before that sense of knowing turned into fact.

I am officially obsessed with Buzzfeed quizzes. I even take the super ridiculous ones. Like what sort of cheese am I!

I'm mozzarella. At first I wasn't sure how I felt about that, but I guess it's not such a bad cheese to be. I mean, who DOESN'T like mozzarella? And what DOESN'T mozzarella go with, let's all be honest.

Well, I've been bothered by a few people to come on here. Apparently it's the best way to communicate with other citizens of Orange County. As though I can't just go down to a bar and meet people there. Doesn't anyone talk face to face anymore? Too much technology, I say.

Ooops, I think I forgot about this place for a day or two there.

I've been practicing with my qi. Apparently, it really does work and that's how in my dreams I can shoot energy from my hand. I'm really good at it in my dreams, but here I can barely do anything with it at all. I can push myself off a wall and that's about it.

Anyway! For anyone who has been coming to my dojo, I'm having a mini-tournament next weekend. Even if you've come for one lesson, you're welcome to participate. Come in and see what it's all about. I take payment in the form of $10 per class or food, because I'm a terrible cook.

I might manage to fly here after all...we'll see! Don't worry, Mary, I'll be careful.

Maker, how do Grey Wardens manage to keep themselves fed? If I kept a food journal right now my nutritionist would have a field day with me. I can't even believe how much food I've eaten, myself.

I'm pleased to announce that Lu Qing will be putting out its new line this summer. It's a great time of year to enjoy the night, do a little stargazing and breathe in the summer air. Why not add a little sparkle?
