My friend Robert has inspired me, I'm thinking of getting a dog. Possibly a puppy, but maybe a rescue dog from one of the local shelters. I get a bit lonely, sometimes, and could use the companionship.

I've got it all worked out: I can bring him with me to school and do my research outside, when possible. There may be a few hours where he'd have to stay outside, but I'd take breaks and go and play with him and walk him around when I'm forced to stay in the lab. If need be, my parents can dog sit.

I'm thinking some sort of setter or retriever. A majestic dog, you know. Something regal. Will keep everyone posted.

So. Has the OC always been this weird? I don't think I remember it being weird when I was younger. Is this a recent development?

Also, this whole maybe ghosts thing is really creeping me the hell out.

All this talk about ghosts and I go and dream about one. Turns out the house George and I moved in to, in my dream, was haunted. She wasn't like the ghosts you see in all the films though. She was solid; or at least she was to George and I. Turns out, she was the fiance of our land lord who had died. Not gonna lie, she was cute. Really cute. She enjoyed making tea as well. There were cups or tea and coffee all over the house, because she constantly made it even though she couldn't drink it. It seemed like the three of us got on really well.

After dreaming about having two flatmates, my own house is feeling even bigger and emptier than it was before.

Sometimes I think the legal world is singlehandedly deforesting the planet.

Depositions need to move to electronic documents sometime in the next decade if we want trees to exist past it.

If you had to pick an animal that best symbolizes you, what would it be and why? Please explain, so that the rest of us can get a better insight into if you're insane or not.

My answer: I've always liked foxes and stories about kitsune. They're clever critters and I like clever critters. Other people tend to call me fox-face because I grin too much and I like to play pranks sometimes. So I think I'm most like that. And it's better than admittin' that I think I'm like a snake, too.

Big day tomorrow. Anyone disturbing the peace near my condo will get a small, yappie dog throw at their car.

Not my dog, but the neighbors will let me have theirs on loan.

Sometimes you just have to smile, nod and do as your told when you're facing the person. And then when you're finally home free you can call them an ungrateful wannabe he-bitch whose got more hair on her face than a weasel on the internet because that's how we handle things in the digital age of pretend anonymity.

It's only Monday and I've already decided on weekend plans.

I give up on trying to put the books back. Fuzzy little bastards just keep knocking them back off.

In the wake of the earthquakes, I can understand why some people might decide to bring pets into work. That I can forgive, though I do wish I'd been consulted so that I could suggest telecommuting or other options.

The real problem is when they're left to run free through the office. I know there's at least one animal expert on this network - can anyone tell me how to properly kennel a small fluffy... thing? It's not like any animal I've ever seen, and I need to contain it until I can find the owner or call animal control.

I'm just saying that if we'd just left the paperwork in haphazard piles reaching up to the ceiling, we wouldn't have had to worry about the heavy filing cabinets assaulting us.

Yeah, I gave him a number for being able to say that line with a straight face. I'm sure someone at Domino's will take him up on his offer of a date. Depending on what time he calls and who answers.

What are we the United States of China? Seriously. It's disgusting. It says a lot that we can't even make our own uniforms for the game. You know because we should trust the Chinese... Hopefully the alcohol here isn't produced in China. Who's heard of a good Chinese beer? I think I might have to investigate that first hand.

Roommate wandered off to Mexico. Supposed to be back on Monday night and if she isn't I'm to call a search party. Its likely I'll forget to call the search party and it won't matter because she'll have forgotten she was supposed to come back on Monday.

But enough of that. I've got leftover Chinese food and three weeks worth of readings to catch up on.

Who said this uncomfortable weather could move in and stay awhile? Pretty sure I put my very own extra special hole in the ozone layer with all the hair product I used this morning. And please, no finger wagging at the implied over importance of vanity because I already know, okay?
