These past few weeks have been an adventure, not necessarily in a good way at all. My usual routine for weathering these sorts of things involves long hours at work, though I took the time to donate blood and help out where I could, of course.

My newest gallery show, 'Diamonds on Black Velvet' is nearly set to open. I have only a few pieces left to finish, but I'm waiting on a new shipment of diamonds before I can continue. I only use the small, industrial type that my company wouldn't be able to use in its jewelry pieces, of course. They aren't valued very highly, but they do still sparkle enough for my purposes.

I think after all this work I'm due for a break. Perhaps that local Senator can finally make good on his offer to take me out for the evening. Seeing as it's likely he's back to his old self.

But that's not actually my news. My news is that I found a school that will let me train as a midwife while I go parttime to get my degree. What do vegetarians eat for Thanksgiving and is it the same if you don't have turkey? The turkey is kind of what makes the holiday. Fighting in stores aside I am also one of those obnixious people that went out and bought a tree already, fake and pre-lit, so I could put it up today. I kind of like looking at it and it'll give me something new to photograph.

First week in a public High School, and it was a short week. But I learned some interesting things, mostly to do with teenage behavior. My Psychology degree is actually proving useful for once. I still think it is a pack dog mentality that rules the cliques.

The text books are all vastly out of date and many of the history lessons are lacking in context and heavily censored. I got into an argument with my history teacher on Wednesday over the lack of criticism of the side-effects of westward expansion.

And the science...the "science" they teach is a crime.

On a positive note, I made several friends, and Beth has shown me around.

I had had my head so far up my ass that I didn't even know I had a kid, wasn't there when she was born, and missed out on the part where she got my hair and had a bunch of it grow in and everything.
