I hope everyone has had a really fantastic Valentine's Day! I printed these adorable cards out and gave them to my coworkers at the aquarium.

It's hard to pick a favourite, but I may have to say my old friend the shark. Fintastic!

My kid presented me with flowers for Valentine's Day, which is cute if you overlook the fact she pulled them out of the neighbors yard. But it's the thought that counts. At least the families on both sides of us like Lily, though I am going to make her apologize for taking something without asking. But once she's done that, I think I'll celebrate with my favorite girl with some pizza and a movie.

I googled 'couples crocodile wrestling' on a whim and found this. Sorry, Scott, but it looks like crocodiles are way more dangerous than I'd originally thought. We might have to rethink our couples crocodile wrestling idea. If they were a little less chompy I'd be all in, though.

Well that didn't take long.

Seems I just had one of those dreams, the ones with a capital "D".

What did I dream of, you ask?

Apparently of being born. Or more accurately, hatching from an egg. Which sounds weird in itself except it gets kinda cool: I'm a freakin' dragon.

I may have to tell mom this. She'll think it's some sort of sign of good fortune, especially considering I was born in the Year of the Dragon!

So hello there! I've spoken to a few of you on this forum, but I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Newton Scamander, but most people simply call me Newt. I work just next door at the Aquarium of the Pacific, in Long Beach. I also like to help out at the San Diego Zoo whenever I can. I'm working on a secondary doctorate in Marine Biology at UC Long Beach, so I'm here for a while.

I suppose that's about all I have to say? Other than to come down to the aquarium sometime and meet all our lovely friends there. We have otters, I think I told someone. And sharks, which are my favourites, if I absolutely had to choose a favourite.

I've never understood where the stigma about sharks comes from. From the movie Jaws, if I remember correctly. But take, for instance, the Shy Shark. This little fellow got his name because when he is nervous, he curls his tail up to cover his face. What a delightful creature!

I just read that there's a place in Valley Center where you can swim with otters. Unfortunately, it's already booked up for 2017. I guess I'll have to wait until next year to swim with otters.

I am very possibly literally spamming your little forum here, but I have like, no friends to text this to (wow how depressing is THAT statement) and it was of upmost importance that I shared this with ANYONE.

(I'm specifically looking at you, Scott, Scott McCall, local vet tech.)
