I can appreciate my sister for trying to cook today. Since it's what our mother used to do. But she's not very good at it. Her heart is in the right place. I still had to save the kitchen from disaster.

There are things I can't always talk to her about (and things she can't always talk to me about) but most of the people I'd talk to have left. I need to get out more, I think.

So what've you lot been up to since I've been gone?

I came to a decision after helping to kill a huge sodding dragon some of the madness that goes on here - I would like to get back into proper archery. I'm rusty beyond belief and would like to brush up, and then go from there.

Once I heal - have probably another month of taking it easy after breaking some ribs - would anyone be willing to shoot with me or even serve as a tutor of sorts? I've shot for at least a decade of my life, but I am massively out of practice, so I'm not a beginner. More like a rusty intermediate.

I already miss my sister being younger than me.

I just realized now I've been here just around two months. It seems much shorter than that. Now that everyone at the shop's settled in, I think it's time to have a somewhat belated opening party. Tentatively, I'm setting it for the first weekend in May. If anyone out there has a venue they'd like to offer up, or if someone would like to cater or provide music, it would be most appreciated. Beyond that, everyone is invited (details will be updated on the shop's website) with a donation.

On that same note, to thank Orange County for all the business we've gotten already in the last eight weeks, on April 27, we'll be doing tattoos by donation. We'll have a set sheet of flash, and you can get any one of them in any size and color, anywhere, and pay whatever you'd like. We haven't decided yet on what charities to put the money to, preferably something local, so if anyone has recommendations please let me know.

These past few weeks have been an adventure, not necessarily in a good way at all. My usual routine for weathering these sorts of things involves long hours at work, though I took the time to donate blood and help out where I could, of course.

My newest gallery show, 'Diamonds on Black Velvet' is nearly set to open. I have only a few pieces left to finish, but I'm waiting on a new shipment of diamonds before I can continue. I only use the small, industrial type that my company wouldn't be able to use in its jewelry pieces, of course. They aren't valued very highly, but they do still sparkle enough for my purposes.

I think after all this work I'm due for a break. Perhaps that local Senator can finally make good on his offer to take me out for the evening. Seeing as it's likely he's back to his old self.

April Fool's Day in an elementary school is an adventure....

Alright, I guess living at the shop all the time is bad. So. Since I know, like, no one - anyone want to just randomly meet up for coffee or something? I need to not be a hermit.

The teacher I was TAing under had a family crisis and had to leave. Most of my college courses are at night so I'm free and they're having me sub in for two weeks while they find a replacement but that means I'm going to get no sleep.

They're just kids. I'll survive this, right?

So that's a hangover.

I think I may have joined the dreamer club. They're not...pleasant.

Well, I do believe I'm apart of this special dream club. I had a dream last night that, when I woke up, made me feel like I had just stepped out of another life. It had felt so real. But it was the most peculiar dream. I was just sitting on top of a cloud, as if I hadn't a care in the world! How does one sit upon a cloud? Laws of physics tells me it's impossible, yet upon waking, it seemed only natural that one would sit upon a dense matter of liquid. That was all I dreamed about, fairly short. Powdering my nose. And I felt like I was waiting for something. There was something in the wind, but I woke up before that sense of knowing turned into fact.

Wow that was a really vivid dream! Claire and I were living in this big...well it's kind of a closed off world called Cocoon. Like we're inside a big egg or something floating in the sky.

And everyone called Claire Lightning because she hates her name so that wasn't too different.

Mm. Fascinating. This place leaves me with the most interesting presents.

Three weeks until my next fight in Los Angeles. I'm actually rather excited again. Two weeks until I have to make sure I'm close enough to hit weight. Two weeks to eat salads with meat on top, but no junk food. Except caffeine, sorry world, THAT won't happen.

I'd also like to announce that I have the best better half ever - seriously how many guys actually like letting their girls go get beat up? And spoil them rotten anyways? Valentine's was a successful day, the last two weeks have been perfect, and it can't get better than this. Even if the usual shenanigans of this city happened, fuck it.

Oh and I passed all my classes. One semester left of That crap until I'm done. I know daddy wants me to take over the family business but I am just not really feeling it. Sorry dad.

They locked the hospital down and this actually got kind of suddenly scary.

I must admit, it's quite amusing to go through the various reactions to what's going on outside. Many people treat it like an every day occurrence while others, such as myself, are wide eyed and wondering what is happening! A normal thing to have strange things happen here. Part of me wonders what I've gotten myself into, moving here. Well, I will add another word of caution as everyone else has. Please be careful. Especially if you step outside. Not only are there strange things moving about but the air is terrible.

How are you doing? I hope you're staying at home during these strange times. Although, I do find productive behavior to help release the stress from our current circumstances. Were you able to finish going through those stacks of worksheets you took home?

Seriously... okay yeah the sun is down shut up. But it's been SUPER dark out all day. Since like... noon.

I finally get to do the TA thing. The teacher is really nice. Her name is Miss Poppins, and she's sweet and very proper, which is kind of cute. One time I caught some of the kids making fun of her behind her back and I scolded them. I think they might be scared of me.

Good.

In other news my sister is back! Which will be really nice. You can only be alone for so long, you know? It gets depressing being alone, but you pick yourself up and you push yourself forward and you look to the joys you can find. But it's really nice to have her back, so we can be a family again.

You'd think getting shot once wouldn't be enough for the army, but apparently I've bled enough for my country. Recovery would be too long, they said. Three to six months, maybe more. I'll do it in one. Those military doctors just don't know who they're dealing with.

But I'm stuck here, I might as well do whatever it is everyone else does when they aren't patrolling in the desert. The nurse signed me up here. I have no idea what I'm doing.
