After four years here, this still hasn't gotten old.

At least I've learned to drive in the snow!

So as a welcome home gift my sister's dog has brought me a kitten:

Literally. She went out for her evening walk with Carolina and when she came back she deposited this little ball of fluff in my lap.

You know, kind of thinking I might lose my girlfriend in a bookstore if I'm not careful.

Is it just me or could an alien space ship land downtown and I couldn't bat an eye at this point?

My brothers and I watched Beetlejuice today. I forgot how awesome that movie is! ha! And how young Alec Baldwin looks in it.

Good times.

This is my car. Like, my dream car that actually became my car. Here. I have a car. It just appeared in the lot behind the B&B this morning, which is great, because I didn't have to take the bus to work today.

I mean, we're all under some curse because the Evil Queen is evil, and are stuck on this Groundhog Day loop (or were, until the new sheriff came to town - that's so country western) and I'm a waitress with this tacky uniform that is barely even clothing, but I have a car.

Just wanted to share that.



Things will probably get worse, because how could it not, in a cursed town? But I'll just be over here not thinking about it.

I spent way too long looking at puppy photos on the internet today, it started out as research but soon descended into me just wanting to look at the cuteness.

I think I might look into self defence lessons, one of the girls I go to dog training with was attacked on her way home last week and she's decided on lessons since then.

This week is being a weird one.

First, early this morning, the main female star of the movie I'm in quit, and did it by sending her lawyers to the production studio instead of showing up herself. The director was a little peeved. I'm pretty sure you all could probably hear him, by how loudly peeved he was. Rumors running around now say the whole movie may be cancelled.

Then I got a call from my agent/editor saying her company had seen the latest draft, liked it, wanted more revisions, and wanted to extend the contract into a trilogy, or more. So Wednesday I get to meet with one of the corporate officers to find out exactly what deal they are offering on that.

And when I got home, I learned I had been vandalized, my home stripped. Everything is gone, literally. They didn't even leave the clothing in the closets.

So, I'm, in a hotel, and trying to e-file insurance paperwork, fighting with wireless, and done.

This week is fired.

I've been working with puppets in my storytelling course this week and they are so much fun! It's amazing how much they can add to the right story. It's all really fascinating learning how they are used both now and years ago.

I attended my mother's book club this afternoon on my way home from work, and I'm not sure I really fit in with the other members. Besides, I should probably find a book club that isn't encroaching on my mother's 'territory'... does anyone know of one that's accepting new members? Or does anyone have any recommendations?

Few things beat a nice, late night drive. Clear the head. Haven't been too foggy lately though. Guess I really don't mind not being alone.

I can't believe it's almost April! We have a lot of exciting spring releases coming into the store in the next few months which should be brilliant and our little Valkyrie is growing so quickly, she's definitely a cheeky puppy but she's so cute you forgive her anything.

Does anybody else have exciting things planned for Spring?

Guess that's what I was called when they did experiments on me. Dream me. Not me me.

And apparently I got a reputation in the universe. Figures.

We got caught, processed, and sent to this place called the Kyln. And I'm pretty sure dream me was already confident that I'd escape out of there.

Still... subject 89P13. I can see why I chose Rocket.

It's International Women's Day today and we are showcasing some incredible female authors in the bookstore today.

Just a little heads up, next week Much Ado About Books will be celebrating World Book Day for the UK! We'll be promoting great UK literature in store at reduced prices! Does any one have any favourites they'd really like to see featured?

Interesting fact: World Book Day for the rest of the world is celebrated on the 23rd April! This is because the concept originated in 1923 in Spain to honour the author Miguel de Cervantes who died on this day in 1616. However the UK celebrates St George's Day who is their patron saint. It also clashes with their school's Easter holidays and for these reasons it is now held on the first thursday of March.

Was at the march in L.A. today. Lot of people there, pretty crowded. Don't handle large crowds very wall anymore but it was worth going.

Can anybody recommend any good dog training classes around? I think this would be a good time for Valkyrie to start attending them.

Valkyrie is totally ready for Christmas. The goofball loved her Christmas antlers :)

Alright, I have a love/hate relationship with haunted houses.

That said, I want to go to one!

I also want to decorate pumpkins.

I'm so excited for Halloween! We've got loads going on at the store and amazing decorations to put up too.

I've never dressed up before so what kinds of costumes do people wear? Any suggestions?

I might not be a pirate, but I had a bit of fun today. Replaced my prosthetic with a hook and entertained some kids at the park. They finally managed to 'sink' the play fort I'd claimed as my ship.

Other than the strange sickness that went around, September has been pretty good for me so far. We've moved into a new house and I started full time at Much Ado About Books. I am hoping the rest of the month goes as well.

Sometimes I wonder what people are thinking when they try to mug someone. I suppose I look an easy target, poor thing.

I think it's very safe to say that I'm going to stay inside over the weekend, or until all of this is done with. I'm glad I did my grocery shopping earlier last week, otherwise the pantry would be very bare. Everyone be safe out there, especially those of you that are fighting, and good luck.

So my fellow Princess and lifemate is totally the best because look what she got me:

Isn't he the most precious, ginormous baby?? His name's Link! He's a wolfdog hybrid, from a rescue up in Lake Tahoe. But he looks a lot like the Link in my dreamworld, who appeared as a divine beast meant to help save the Twili kingdom. I basically spent a lot of time riding him and hanging out in his shadow, in imp form, but he's a good kid.

I just wanted to show him off. Nothing new to report, but hey, congrats to all the college people who have finished their exams! Never bothered with the college thing but I'm pretty certified in Arabic now so I'll start volunteering at the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services. And to think this time last year I was still on the pole.

Which is actually good exercise, by the way. I've given pole dancing lessons before, highly recommend them.

Apparently it is the 120th anniversary of the First Modern Olympic Games today. It is interesting to see which events have been added or removed since then.

So today is International Women's Day according to the radio. I'm not really sure what it means but it sounds good. Do women have to do anything special?

Hurray for World Book Day!

Why not come down to Much Ado About Books to celebrate World Book Day tomorrow? We'll have readings of some classics for kids and adults alike and there will be a buy one get one free sale on everything in the shop!

I know it's been a hard few months with all the trials and tribulations the OC has to throw at us, but come and take your mind off things at Much Ado About Books. We'll be open from 9am to 7pm tomorrow.

From 5pm, there will also be a costume competition for the kids to dress up as their favourite character from their favourite books, with prizes for the best dressed! There may also be an adult competition, but that depends on how many of you come in costume (although I draw the line at anything above a PG rating, so no Fifty Shades of Gray please!)

Valerian has begun teething this month. Last night I think was the worst night yet. He had a tummy ache on top of teething yesterday, so he cried for a good portion of the night. We finally managed to get to sleep, later than normal, but now he's in his walker slobbering all over the toys attached to it and his cold teething ring.

While he's doing that, I think I'm going to take some time to play the piano while things are calm here. Well, after I finish my cup of tea that I desperately need this morning.

Well the end of my dreams is bittersweet, we are free but I lost one new friend and another left us by choice. I wish things could have been different.

But at least in real life I have my friends and family.

Woke up in a puddle of my own blood. That's nice.

To say life has been hectic is an understatement. Between Valerian, who is doing fantastic by the way and now sleeping through the night, and going back to work, I feel like I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off more often than not. Still, I wouldn't trade anything for my little one, or my job either since I need it.

Because things have been hectic, I hadn't been able to share the news of an addition to the furniture in my apartment. Dream furniture, that is. It's a lovely grand piano, but it is, admittedly, taking up a good bit of room. Regardless of that, I've enjoyed playing when I can, and I think Valerian enjoys hearing me play too.

Someone needs to tell my dreamself that driving across the salt wastes is a shitty, suicidal plan.

There are pumpkin spice Peeps, you guys.

WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK.

Peeps are a seasonal food. They're Easter food. Nobody has ever said "you know what I think of when I think of Fall? Peeps!". EVER. And nobody's gonna. Yes, pumpkin spice is good, but real pumpkin spice is good. Pumpkin pie? Delicious. I'll even allow those Starbucks coffee thingers with pumpkin spice. But you know pumpkin spice Peeps will just taste like every other Peep BECAUSE THEY'RE JUST SUGAR MARSHMALLOWS.

Woke up this morning tasting dust in my mouth but this odd sense of... joy.

Took a shower and discovered the mark on my neck. A bitter reminder that sometimes you don't belong to yourself.

I am going to be eternally thankful once this little one decides to come into the world, which, it would be fantastic if he would. I've done so many tricks and tips to try and induce my labor, though if he's not here by next weekend I think my doctor will actually induce me.

Either way, I'm just ready for him to be here though you probably couldn't tell that by his nursery.

On a scale of one to not funny, finding the fucking rig parked in front of my apartment is definitely not funny. She drives pretty well though.

And my damned dream prosthetic was hanging off the door.

Dreams always bad. Wastelands as far as the eyes can see. Sun too bright to bear. Everyone dead or dying. Only myself standing alone in front of the empty world as the heat bakes the sand into my skin, hair, everything.

I am nothing more than the last man standing.

I am become a History Man.

Never dreamed of darkness unending. Never been in world where everything feels wrong for reasons got nothing to do with medications from doctors. Strange days. Alls need is to drive. Hit The Road. Been ordered to stay put. Cargo can't be lost due to crazed weather or a world gone mad as myself. Things more valuable than me. Do understand. Don't like it, but understand. Why this to come about now? Everything changing. Everything black. Storms upon storms yet none carrying sand. What happened to the sand? Red as blood and sharp as glass when it hits the skin. Hot. A world of fire and damnation yet this?

Nothing but blackness.

Even the lightning strikes black.

Is it a sign? Is it my sickness?

Or is it only all of us are damned?

This world is Hell and now we will know it?

I'm certain of two things when I dream. That I must have fifteen backup plans. And that each one will get fucked up within minutes.

For those of you who encouraged retribution, I have an update: I have successfully stolen all but one of my coworker's pens. Every time he gets more, I take them. All but one.

I have a desk drawer full of his writing utensils and he has no idea. I feel strangely accomplished.

So this is the thing, is it? Tink's been on and on about it forever. This is the place to go to keep up with all the weirdness. Yes? Good, I can't wait to hear all about it.
