That was the stupidest, most ridiculous dream ever. But it felt real enough where now I'm a bit worried.

These dreams are a thing, right? Does anyone dream they're not human?

Protip: When you're on an online dating site? Calling a black woman anything to do with chocolate is both creepy and borderline racist. I swear, I give up.

Well, he's in town. He's moved here, to the same place I've also moved to. I don't know if that's fate or karma punishing me for something I've done in a former life.

And he's still snobby, and he still makes me want to scream and throw things, but his face is still... and the way he speaks, and his everything and I wanted to slap him. Then kiss him. Then slap him.

... And why is this bloody photograph staring at me like I should be guilty?

I've never given a fuck about football... But this morning I woke up and there was news about the Eagles beating the Cowboys and I felt like it mattered. I mean, I was ecstatic. They made the playoffs. I jumped off the couch and cheered and spilled my coffee.

Even now, when I think about it, my heart starts pounding.

I've been keeping to myself the last few weeks I've been here, but I've grown sort of fond of this place. I am, however, still getting used to American culture, so now it seems a good time to venture into it.

One question, though. This place - it's not really known for snow, is it? Do such anomalies happen often?

So I'm sitting in a plane, waiting at a gate. You know how it is when the flight lands and everyone pops up out of their seats like the plane is on fire and they need to jump off of it before they die? And they clog up the aisles run people over trying to get their crap out of the overhead bins.

Like they're monkeys.

I figured - hey, might as well surf the net on my phone while I wait for these assholes to 'Exit the plane in an orderly fashion'. This is the network my phone decided to connect me to. So hi, everyone.

Also - and maybe more importantly - Dad, how are you? You might want to head to the airport.

So my blood is gold.

No, I'm not kidding. I woke up this afternoon with a massive gash in my arm and blood everywhere, only it's not really blood, it's ichor. Essentially my blood is now gold.

Also I didn't know that injuries could carry over from the dreams. I mean, I've given birth in my dreams a few times but I've had no pain or marks or changes to my body. Maybe it has to do with the type of injury? I mean, I knew I was going to be stabbed, I did my research. But if I had known that it could do that I wouldn't have kept the nice sheets on the bed or at least I would have wrapped it up before hand or something.

I'm trying hard not to think about what the ichor means.

My housemate is really enjoying the snow. I don't think she's ever seen it outside of TV before. The girl has had a...hard life.

It's nice to see her so happy.

And I slept through the night peacefully, for once. I hope this lasts.

Well, looks like Christmas is going to be pretty interesting this year. At least I got some goddamn sleep.

OHMYGODSNOW! I've never seen Snow before! This is exciting!! I can't wait to go sledding, and make snowmen and snow angels!!

I don't understand the need to have Christmas music in every store and every commercial. It's everywhere. And it's the same ten songs, just done by a bunch of different groups.

How do you all cope?

There's nothing like listening to old Christmas songs, drinking enough eggnog to knock out a horse, and trying to get a string of Christmas lights untangled and in working order.

Our efforts were fruitful in the end, and we now have a Christmas tree worthy of the effort we put into it, and the horrible hangovers we'll garner as a result. Not to mention the potential exposure to salmonella.

Ah, the holidays. There's no time of year quite like them. I feel that we'll miss the snow as the month gets older. Not that we'll miss shoveling it, or driving in it, or listening to people complain about it. Those are things whose absence we'll cherish.

I need a good place to drink. I can't drink at home and I really need to.

There was a fucking sword in my closet. The same one I have in my dreams. The same symbol engraved into it. It's so heavy I can barely lift it, but when I dream about it I can wield it as easily as I can lift an umbrella...And I woke up in pain.

Generally, I find working with casts and molds to be the more annoying part of creating jewelry. But I've gotten a lot better with carving the molds than I used to. I guess I can thank my sharp new eyesight for that.

It's been nice to have people to make christmas presents for this year. I've got a new line I'm working on for spring, too. I might need to hire a helper again.

Of course the best part about living here in the states is taking advantage of all of these "Black Friday" sales on beading websites. I've replenished my stock of natural cut gemstone beads, wiring, and even picked up a few new charms and bead types that I've never worked with before. I'm actually a little excited to get started. Maybe I'll even buy myself this shiny new set of jeweler's tools. It seems about the right time to replace them.

I spent most of yesterday as part of a company volunteer effort. I hadn't been expecting anything but some reheated leftovers when I got home, but my housemate surprised me. taking that girl in was the best thing I ever did

These dreams, you people can have them.

While I don't find this strictly necessary, the board seems to think registering for this network is. Since there's no reason not to, here I am. It's not like I have anything better to do. Wait. I do.
