I never want to have to go through that ever again.

I hate social networking sites for this reason entirely. I have a facebook, haven't logged on for weeks. I just lose interest after a day.

Twitter has like one tweet. What's the point of things like this anyway? Like aren't net type things pointless?

I think it's time I started to get out more. Dig sites aren't exactly the most sociable of places, so...

This 'Cat Lady' from London has caught my interest. Orange County seems to have no shortage of Citizens willing to go above the law and 'do good'. It remains to be seen how much 'good' is actually being done, but as my own investigation is slow, I may as well look into this more fully.

On another note, I seem to have come down with whatever this odd-dream sickness is that everyone else has contracted. That, or I need to rethink what it is I eat before bed.

The dream I've had probably should have been more disturbing to me than it was, considering I was very blue, surrounded by space aliens, and apparently capable of disturbing local police forces merely by my presence.

I shouldn't have to post this, but I'm going to. Consider it my official statement on the matter.

Commander Tyra Shepard is an upstanding woman and up until a year or so ago, was one of America's finest soldiers. Unless you fought alongside her, you don't get to second-guess that. And it is never alright to bring up anyone's private life in public like that. I don't care who you are.

As my Employee, she has helped shape the kids in her care for the better. She's helped us rebuild, and was a key part of the rescue efforts at the Ranch during the meteor and earthquake. I will not be firing her. Not now, not ever.

I especially will not be firing her over what she chooses to do after hours in her committed and stable relationship. I don't care if that relationship is with a man, woman, bottle of vodka, or electric toaster. You shouldn't either.

She's a good woman and she will be employed at Urdnot Ranch as long as she wants to be. The end.

You were in it. And I was blue. And we were in ruins and I was trapped in a bubble of some kind.

If one more person makes me talk about those things, I think I might crack. Why did I have to discover one of those? Why not just a nice stone tablet or a burial site or anything but an idol like that?

I know it's Monday, I know it's lovely weather, and I know you're only a few minutes drive away from the beach, but it's not Spring Break yet. You've got mid-terms before that, and so showing up to class in your bathing suits is just... really, it's not conducive to focused learning, I'm sorry to say.

On a personal note, I don't know if I'm doing anything for the break, myself... I still have and a friend's proposal to edit, and an article on the Isla del Sol Chicana ruins to finish, and if I don't finish a draft this week, I'll never finish grading anyone's midterms. I'd like a vacation, but. Well, "my office with no students running around screaming about kegs" is really quite like a vacation. And, besides, I don't think I could wear a bikini comfortably around town quite the way the girls on the quad tanning are doing. Maybe it's better I stay and work.

Its been quite a busy day so far. I drew an early morning shift at the hospital. Had a boy come in missing an ear, the poor thing. It seemed to be some sort of animal attack. I'd rather have the weirder ones, than a child. But we got him fixed up and he's resting comfortably right now.

There's been the usual as well. Shootings, stabbings, a car accident, strange objects in the anus. I look forward to a nice slow day of people with head colds at the practice. I sometimes wonder if I take on too much. But I want to help at the hospital, and I like the pace of the practice. They sort of balance each other out. But I'm afraid I'll need to cut something down. Its a matter of what means the least to me.

In unrelated news I finally got a look at the lovely robot warp_speed is building me. I know it seems silly, but I love it. I can't wait for the competition.
