Finally took down the banana curtains in the kitchen. It's sad to see them go, but... well, the landlord is raising the rent now our lease is up, and I'm on my own here. Either I have to find a roommate, or I have to move.

dream me is a bad bad man.

I'd found this bundle of letters at the back of my closet a few days ago, and I've been reading them with the utmost fascination. They've all been signed "Sincerily, RF", which is quite funny because those are Robert's intitials, and he has letters signed RS which are mine.

They were quite interesting, detailing a young man's adventures across Europe, being an amanuensis for a composer in Belgium and other such things.

It was all well and good until yesterday when I got to the last letter, dated December 12th, 1931.

Ugh Christmas music is everywhere. I can only handle so much, world, and the same ones over and over again just give me a migraine.

Dudes. So I kinda had a dream, like what everyone is talking about on here sometimes, and it was kinda a crazy one.

I was on some tropical island, and I think we survived a plane crash. Like, me and a bunch of people. And there was this guy...Jack I think his name was? Running around trying to help people, and it was all kinds of chaos. And later I was helping hand out what was left of the plane food to people, and there was this really pregnant chick and I gave her two meals. Cuz you know, eating for two.

And THEN, at night, we were all kinda chilling out by the pieces of wreckage waiting for help to come, and this crazy noise comes from the jungle, and the trees start moving like something out of Jurassic Park.

Also, Charlie, I think you were in my dream too.

I kinda won the lottery in my dream too and won a ton of money with 'em. Mom says I should, but I dunno.

I believe that last night has heralded my entry into the so called Dreamer's club. At first it was very charming, actually - I dreamt of my own birth into a wealthy family, in what I think in English is called Renaissance times. Leonardo da Vinci was a friend of my dear mother's. I even had two brothers and a sister, as I do here.

Well, my dreams have started up again. The timing is just smashing. Island life isn't all it's cracked up to be, folks. At least I didn't get an arrow to the throat in this one.

Looks like I'm taking up the family trade in my dreams. My brother deputized me as a Texas ranger, but I'm not exactly sure my dream self is cut out for the wild west. He's a bit more naive than even I am.

Last night is officially fired. I'm tired of the dreams, and the nonsense they bring with them. I didn't need to dream that I was bait in a trap for Scott, or that he almost left after Jean died things got bad, or that Logan planted bombs all over our stupid floating island to make us all leave it.

Especially not after the day I had, in addition. I'm going to spend the non-work portion of today eating caramel ice cream with vinegar and hope to God I don't dream again tonight.

My dream self is even worse at conversation than my real self. Is that irony?

I am totally replacing the couch with one of these.

Another weird ass dream. Double dating with people I've never seen before. It was bowling and I had to pretend I was bad at it? What the shit is that?

No woman should ever keep her talents hidden because a guy can't handle that. The boyfriend in my dreams is kind of an idiot.

Speaking of boyfriends, my summer one has left the country. It was nice while it lasted.

I find myself lacking motivation of late. Either to do the things I love to do, or to seek out new things to try.

I don't suppose anyone has any suggestions for a hobby?

Well I'm back to... being myself, I suppose. My niece teased me relentlessly that I looked like a member of a boy band. Westlife? It was something like that.

I had a lead on my brother, but it went cold. Now I'm back in Cali. My apartment's is disgusting and I'll be spending the day cleaning it.

Why is it that everyone seems so genuinely surprised at whatever fresh hell this place dishes up? I've barely lived her a month and I'm already jaded.

I dare say that the dream version of myself is an utter ass. And that is putting it mildly. I slept in today, a rare pleasure, but it turned rather foul. I dreamed of being a complete bastard to my dad and pretty much everyone I knew, of having four children, and marrying for money and politics and... I wish I had never started dreaming.

I need a dozen fucking drinks and maybe a few good fights. It's been too long.

A kindergarten student came up to me today, told me he'd found a cat, but it was dead. "How do you know that the cat was dead?" I asked him. Just a quick post because I only have a few seconds to spare, but my wife and I (mostly my wife) gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Sunday. His name is Samwise. Now, if you excuse me, I need to get back to them.

Getting shot sucks. At least it wont take long to heal. Stupid teenaged reflexes. Who robs restaurants anyway, anymore? Don't robbers have more style? Or is there no pride at all? Meh.

Being shot in this life really trumps the memory of being shot in a dream. In a bad way.

Also, hospital food and television programming sucks. I think they want to encourage people to get better by sheer will alone, just to get away from it.

I wouldn't usually do this, but I am getting desperate, and I've heard people on this board can be very generous and helpful. Is anyone looking for a bodyguard? Or know where a former soldier could get some good work? I've just moved into the Newport Beach area and I don't have a job yet. If needed, I have references from former clients.

Coming to my attention that Laika and I aren't the only service members running around the OC area. I've seen a lot of you posting little things about it before, and well, you know how some stuff's only funny to the people who get it, or only makes SENSE in all those circumstances? I'm proposing we use the comments here to introduce ourselves, say hi and who we are, what our favorite booze is, and a good place we might actually meet up, anything else about ourselves that's interesting, stuff like that.

It seems like we'd have a pretty good resource for meetups, navigation tips, the stuff like that. You in? Leave a comment. I'll start with one underneath.

I have yet to feel the urge to sing and it feels wonderful.

You would think having a general idea on how the story in the dreams, or whatever you want to call it, ends would give you a sense of closure but it doesn't really. It is more like an emptiness or when you finish a book, close it, and then it hits you some big question has gone unanswered. It is hard to explain I guess.

Or is it just me that feels that way? Feels like there should be a reason for the dreams but there isn't except that we want there to be a reason.

I spent most of yesterday in bed with a pillow over my head. Not particularly brave, but trying to move made my head feel like it was exploding.

Do you ever miss people from the dreams who aren't here and probably will never even BE here? Because it's kind of happening to me right now. I just saw something amazing over the last few days, but all it made me do is think of that person from my dreams who I don't think I'm ever going to see, and actually legitimately miss even though I haven't even met her.

It's...weird, you know?

I had an awesome dream about a post-apocalyptic world and fighting bad guys and waging war across a desert-like landscape and there was high tech everywhere and monsters and good guys and I even had a cool name!

I like this dream. It was really long. I mean, it felt like it was, but then I woke up and it was only an hour later. Weird.

My father-in-law is trying to make me into a chess master. It is not going well for him. I feel like I am coming to terms with being of average intelligence.
