Today being Mother's Day, of course I phone my mum. It's actually pretty rare that I talk to her, so needless to say this was a pretty lengthy conversation. When I go a couple weeks not talking to her, I actually find how much I miss and love her. It was a concept that seemed a little lost to me when I was still living at home. Another parallel to my dreams.

To all the mom's out there, Happy Mother's Day! I hope you had a relaxing day that was filled with flowers and special treats all day!

Interestellar! Amazing film, a bit off though. Missing a couple of key points, but it's fiction so it's fine. Still, fantastic bit of fun really. But now I'm out of fish fingers, need to get some of those.

This is going to be a busy month. My daughter's birthday is the sixteenth, and she'll be nine years old already. I'm taking her and a couple of her friends to Disneyland for that weekend.

Then my parents are coming in around the twenty-fifth to stay for a couple weeks. I am only partly looking forward to that. One of my brothers also attempted to tag along, but I adamantly told him not to come, I don't have the room for him. Which isn't true, I could make room, but I simply don't want to spend three weeks with my antagonistic brother under my roof.

I only hope my home will pass my mother's standards. I really do not want to deal with listening to her complain for three weeks about things that don't matter. Or things that do matter

But first thing's first, getting birthday presents for my daughter. Which at times is easier said than done.

Have you ever had a dream that was so damn real that even after waking up it terrifies you? I've never been one to remember dreams but tonight was so vivid. I dreamed that I was little and that my parents and my sister were killed in a car accident. For it to be just a dream the pain was so real. And then my brother put his entire life on hold to take care of me.

I know that none of them were really happy getting a phone call in the middle of the night but I just had to hear their voices.

I don't think I'll be going back to sleep tonight.

It's official! I'm unemployed! WHOOOOO!! Nothing like building a fort in the living room as you scan through your computer, looking for things that look interesting!

Alright, so it's sort of a lie. I'm so lax 'cause I feel like I have a good shot at a friend's company...fingers crossed!

I think part of me will miss the travel. But domestic wasn't worth seeing my friends all the time.

It's a bit odd, isn't it? Seeing things you really never truly understood from a completely different light and then suddenly you understand them; what's more, to know that the more you hear about what is and isn't, and then to know that what is and isn't, you find that what isn't is, and vice versa, and it's really quite thrilling.

Regardless, I've just finished a bowl of custard, been craving it, but it's missing a bit of something. Not sure, I'll work on that; in the mean time, anyone catch the meteor shower? No, probably not, no one knew it happened really. Kind of sneaks by you a bit, but they're not even meteors, just tourists really.

Also, bread pudding. I need some bread pudding, anyone make it, and anyone who makes it well?

Guess who finally got their TARDIS key!? That's right, me! It's been so long since my last dream or the last time I got anything that I was beginning to think that I'd never get it, but I woke up this morning and there it was on my nightstand. We might not have a TARDIS here, but I'm ridiculously excited about this!

The human brain is actually quite brilliant. In the face of trauma or torture, it can create an elaborate delusion that life is normal and block out what has happened, and the person has no idea. Except there are signs that eventually start showing up to make you wake up and remember.

So that begs the question.

What's to say that all of this, the lives we feel we've lived, Orange County, all of this is real? What if it's the actual dream, and the dreams we keep having are our subconscious trying to make us wake up?

This was clearly an active week in the dream world. And it seems some family members of mine have found their way in.

The ninth Doctor who happened to look like a nephew of mine. The tenth who looked like another nephew of mine. Oh and, you guessed it, the eleventh who looked like yet another nephew of mine. It was all rather awkward seeing them as this Doctor fellow.

I can sympathize where the ninth's anger came from. Sometimes I thought the tenth was a bit overdramatic. And he did wear sandshoes. The eleventh couldn't quite catch a break there for a while.

So. These dreams can take a break now. Why does Clara keep dyi No not discuss

Saint Patrick's Day--now that was brilliant fun! As I told Rose, do hope none of you went around telling the Irish 'Happy St. Patty's Day.' Quite a marvel what that day's become in this country, really.

Anyway, had a brilliant day. Solved a brilliant scavenger hunt courtesy of a one Rose Tyler, and subsequently earned a prize. Love it! Ought to keep me out of the pinstripes on a daily basis. Alright. These dreams of mine are much like watching a patchwork quilt being made. This Doctor fellow is quite the intriguing man in many ways. The first one nearly rivaled me in crankiness levels. I still want to know how that fur coat thing the second one had didn't sprout legs and walk off. The third one had quite the brilliant automobile. I don't understand how the fourth wasn't strangled by his amazingly long scarf. Seriously, how did people not step on it or pull on more frequently? Anyway, back to the point. Why did the fifth one wear a piece of celery on his lapel? The sixth one actually had a patchwork coat that was a bit reminiscent of his personality. The seventh one was...a question mark, I suppose. The eighth was quite the dapper fellow.

I don't quite know why I'm talking about these here, but there seem to be a few of us who share these same sorts of dreams. Still waiting for how I personally fit into this puzzle, though.

Just finished the film: "Whiplash". I believe it was up for one of the Oscars this year, so decided to give it a watch and a rather brilliant film. It relies heavily on strong acting and intensity to really push it along, as the story leaves a bit to be desired. It's a simplistic one, more or less predictable, but it's the intensity of the film that really drives it, and the incredible acting.

Also checked out the Lego Movie, haven't watched it yet... been too busy grading papers heading into Spring Break here in a few weeks. That's always a bit on the dangerous side, most papers before Spring Break are just intolerable messes.

So, in the beginning when I first learned about the Orange County style of dreaming, I thought nothing much of it. In fact, I argued that it was a bit strange that so many people believed in it, and it made me curious though not entirely believing myself. Then, when I started having my own strange dreams, I didn't think much of it, just passed it off...

Now I've had more dreams. Far more, recently actually. And they're... so strange, and I feel strange, feel like a different purpose. Has anyone else felt this way? I think the thing that scares me the most, is I've heard friends refer to the same man before, the man I see myself as, even if my face is different. He goes by the title, and name, of The Doctor. I remember distinctly the time he ... I? Chose that name. I... it's a bit strange really. Just strange. I'm sure it's a combination of hearing John and them talk about him, but the realness of the dreams, and the more real they get is surprising.

[Filtered to John, Clara, Rose, and Duncan]

John, the name of the man in your dreams was The Doctor right? My brain isn't burning when I dream, thankfully, but it feels really strong, very real, and I often times wake up sad, feeling incredibly lonely. Not how I usually feel, of course. Still, when I got over the initial shocks of a recurring dream with such strength, I have begun to write them down, the novel is taking form.

Hello, California! My name is Harold Saxon, and I’m rather new to the area. A co-worker of mine told me about this network, and it seemed like a grand idea to post a little greeting to you all.

I’ve just moved in to a wonderfully cramped little flat in Anaheim, although I’m working out at CalTech.

If any of you happen to be making the trek out there too as students, you’ll probably run into me at some point or another. I’m teaching European History I, and will be offering my services as advisor to anyone in the humanities programs.

If you haven’t signed up yet and are thinking about it, just be warned that I require a great deal of reading, the majority of it being primary sources. Nothing quite like learning about history in the most immersive way possible, don’t you think?

So.

I had another dream.

I saw the world end. Our world. I was in a space station, watching as the sun expanded and swallowed the Earth. There were no more humans living on it, but…that was home. Sure, it was so many billions of years in the future, but it felt so depressing. How can I feel so upset over something that hasn't happened? And won't happen while myself or any of my friends are still alive?

I almost got burned alive too. But the Doctor was there…always the Doctor. He may have given me a hard time for wandering off, but he was always there for me; despite the heartache and strangeness of the situation, he was there.

How can I be so interested in a man I’ve only dreamt of twice?

There was a truck blocking the entrance to the Garage at Stark Industries when I came in, so I had to park a couple of blocks away. It's amazing how many stores are closed. I noticed on my walk in this morning that half the places I used to frequent now have darkened interiors, and a bunch of them have boarded up windows, shattered glass, and the like. It's starting to feel like some dystopian future world, where rival gangs have taken over the city and are trying to steal our hoverboards for their war against the oppressive government. Or something.

School's kicking right into gear, which is great, already seems to be flying by. A student, today, asked me why we never read what scholars would call 'bad' literature; which, of course, I at first thought of as a ridiculous question. Then it occurred to me, if we're to study literature, the depths of it, why wouldn't a class touch on the very foundations of all literature: what makes good literature good, bad literature bad, and the classics so classical? And then, of course, I began to think out even further--should I begin to implement new forms of literature: comic books, graphic novels, even twitter-based novellas. One student even mentioned FanFiction, which apparently is a form of fiction written on blog-type forums, featuring a particular 'fandom's' favorite characters. Fascinating to me, and regardless of the legal ramifications of such a thing, it is interesting.

So, I'm coming to all of you on the Network; if you were so inclined as to join a literary class in college, major or not, would you be interested in the idea of approaching literature from all angles? The good, the bad, the new, and the weird? I always encourage my students to read, so I'd love for them to read anything; granted, there are things I find so horrifically written that I'd detest reading them, but some people might enjoy them and I should never discourage reading.

I'd just be curious as to how you all thought of such an approach.

Back from my first flight! Very successful, no needing to jump into the pilot's seat or anything! Some turbulence here and there, but nothing terrible! Let me tell you though, it was a long weekend! Hopping between aircraft and then staying in a new hotel every night...it was something! But I think I'll enjoy it.

Seems like I've been missing a lot here, but not in a good way. To all my law enforcement friends, please be careful out there! There's got to be something in the water, yeah? I don't feel safe going outside anymore...it feels like the snow, but in a completely different way!

What is it with young people and having to socialize via a non-personable machine like a computer? What is the point of letting your eyeballs melt out of your head from staring at a screen for hours on end? There's a huge world out there full of people you can spend your time talking to in person. You know, if that's your thing. If you don't like people then I suppose you can simply sit there behind your computer, continue typing into that machine and let your eyeballs melt out of your head. Either way, no skin off my back.

I suppose what I'm trying to say is hello, this is pointless.

Fantastic!

I finally had my first dream! It was scary, exciting, and wonderful all at the same time! It was weird because I was living the same kind of boring life I was in Marlow; shoppe girl who woke up, went to work, had lunch with her boyfriend, went home. And then he came.

The Doctor. Big nose, big ears, leather jacket. An alien, but he certainly looked human...sounded human too! But he had this space ship that looked like a blue box that was bigger on the inside! He said it was an old police box, to help disguise it when he was on earth. It was amazing!

We were fighting this alien who had turned the mannequins into living things! Wanted to take over the Earth because of all the pollution and make it its new home. But the Doctor and I stopped him! Together! Ha! We just had this natural kind of partnership and I saved this alien man. It was like a kick butt version of myself!

And right before I woke up, he offered to take me with him! To travel the universe and to go throughout history, just for the fun of it! I only had to think about it for a little bit before I knew the answer and was running towards the box. But that's all I remember. Then I was awake with Wolf hitting me in the face.

But that's it! I'm apart of the club now!

Is this the new sort of social networking then? Like the Twitbird or Facebook?

Right then. Clara Oswald, recently moved from Hackney. Not sure what to really do here when I don't have work, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
